Always give a like when I see FM4. Till this day, their best Forza game. Also, their best looking. Aged very well and should’ve continued on that style
1 - Forza Motosport 4 2 - Forza Horizon 5 3 - Forza Horizon 4 4 - PGR4 FH5 definitely sounds great, but it just needs a higher pitch, it doesn't sound like the revs are correct. That's also the case on other cars on FH5 like for example the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Other than that I'm happy that we got amazing sounds back since we had to suffer FH4's horrible sounds for like 3 years lol
FM4 got the S85 V10 right, FH4 doesn't sound correct on the high revs, FH5 sounds very good, just needs a higher pitch, and PGR4 doesn't have the correct engine sound. Though you have to appreciate PGR4 for this, the car was fairly new at the time, along with the game being made 14 years ago.
@@DarkKnight2845 Definitely agreed bro 🤗, I also love the intake sound more on FM4, FH5 sounds really great as well on the intake, I just hope they look at the pitch on some cars, some cars that are supposed to rev higher sound like they rev lower, like the Trackhawk, GT3 RS 2016, This M5, etc. Also, considering how old PGR4 is, I'm so impressed at how it sounds!
@@AhmadGalalYT They deliberately pitched down FH5 sounds though. They literally added in a rev variable and put it to 0.9 or something. Same for the 'new' sounds in FH3/4 when they started using their own sound engine for specific cars.
Still comparing other racing and open world games to PGR4 launched in October of 2007. Over 14 years ago on 2 generations plus of console before today. It shows you how that game was ahead of its time and when Microsoft studios could actually produce a great launch title. Yes, it veers towards arcade or Sim-cade and has an Ai engine but, it excels at graphics at the time and internal and external car design with vibrations and g-forces. Not the most accurate tyre/tire handling model, but really well done at the time. PGR3 had more weight and vibration. It's like driving a car at 260kph in "outer space" on almost a frictionless road, the newer the games got because humans don't like the shaky shaky. You are in a car. They might have well just put flying magical carpets in the game. Take a car up to near or beyond those speeds, then make it a hardwire sports car and try to take even slight turns.....it isn't a smooth as silk experience. They destroyed the experience for the only goal = profit. Humans like pretty and smooth experiences. Nothing close to real world..that might be upsetting. Also, stop comparing "racing" games to open works games. It is embarrassing, that I'd rather play PGR4 to Forza Horizon 5 currently. Even Forza 4 had more realism. Graphics are a different story and world size/graphics/entertainment content.
Yeah I agree and sadly the state of games now seems to prioritize graphics above all else. Crazy how games back then we’re made on less superior hardware but offered far better all around experiences that few games can offer now
@@dominicancheif117 I does cost more and even with faster processing and updated development software, games are too large and take too long to complete. Most are launched incomplete for profit. They can just complete it on updates. Not as much when a disk was sold as a completed product. Look to Metroid Prime, Killzone on PS3, Gears of War on Xbox. NFL 2K5 on multiple consoles. PGR2-PGR4. Games way ahead of their time. (Shadow of the Colossus is the best example) The most recent sequel or prequel took so long to develop. PS2, PS3, PS4 and now PS5 has its own iterations of the game updated.

that's one of these rare cases when Horizon 4 sounds the best. Motorsport 4 sounds too crunchy and compressed, Horizon 5 while being close sounds a bit too deep and low, PGR4 sounds like a Gallardo
After 3-4 years you still criticize FM4, compression doesn't fully change realism. FM4 has the correct 5.0 V10 sound just as it does in real life, FH5 also did a great job, FH4 on high revs doesn't sound correct, and PGR4 doesn't sound realistic, although it's 14 years old. I'm not hating, but I'm just saying that is a console with 2005 hardware along with only 512 MB of ram, you can't ask for anything more than how good it is now, it was pushed to the limits essentially.
@@DarkKnight2845 yeah I know, both FM4 and PGR4 pushed the 360's limits, but that doesn't mean we should hold them on a pedestal. As for the compression thing, it certainly does change realism. No car and I mean absolutely no car ever sounds that compressed IRL, every car ever sounds louder when revving up and quieter when returning back to idle, and if not then the tone also changes between the two scenarios. that's physics for you. The tone of FM4 is mostly spot on and in this case as well, but the compression ruins it all, I attribute it to less than stellar recording equipment/technique/technology, which totally makes sense because that's probably one of the first times it's been done in a racing game if not the very first
@@Mr.Goldbar That's the best they probably could get to, keep in mind this is 10 years old. The 360 also had only 512 mb of ram with 2005 hardware, it was pushed to the limits
