I used to watch Thrashin' to get hyped to skate back in the 00's. One time this drugged-out, non-skater friend of mine came over when I was watching Thrashin' and that awkward-ass love scene was playing. He thought I was watching some weird porno. I heard him mutter something about it to himself later when he was trying to make sense of his life or whatever, and it made me laugh. That downhill stuff at the end of Thrashin' is still gnarly as fuck.
The scene where the daggers crested the hill changed my fucking life. I was 6, living in Prince George BC when that was a vhs rental…i HAD to own a board after that. That one minute scene was the best part of that movie, I STILL have a Hosoi hammerhead on my wall (first round of repops 08/09) with a daggers bomb on the grip. Anyone worth skating with knew what that was, that was the first time being a skater was tough in the eyes of many
I have thrashin movie. One of my favourites of all time. Still watch it time to time. Even did thrashin soundtrack. Does anyone know is Corey Webster skateboard still somewhere to be found?
@@phillyphilhouse79thats BS. Alva team dressed up in leather jackets for one photo in 88. they didnt all look like Daggers with denim vest jackets 😂 the dude who made the film was part inspired by some real all girl skate gang who dressed similar to Daggers...
As a kid, somewhere in the beginning of the nineties, I was the youngest of the bunch, obviously the worst skater of all, and at that point, sarcasm kicked in. These muppets, older friends and fellow skaters, of course, nicknamed me 'Corey Webster'. Though Slav life since day one.
He will thrash talk Hawk and the industry, say that Gator was framed by Hawk, make political rants. I don't think they wanna take risks of having another controversy like the Mark Oblow one.
Thrashin is still great. Everyone wanted to be a dagger . Nobody wanted to be a ramp local haha.
@1zzy L how's that lip feeling buddy?
Both gangs had the best style back then.
Daggers we’re badass , but I’m always on the good side haha..
haha I wanted to be a Ramp Local!
@@neubergermj man, haha alva baby , alva, that's all I got to say. Daggers for life
This channel deserves so much more attention than it gets
I used to watch this movie every weekend two times per day, on average. Madness! 💪💪💪

I HAD to paint "The Daggers" on the mini ramp I built in my dad's backyard. It was mandatory.
Lol dude my buddy had a launch ramp and he wrote the ramp locals on it. We def got clowned on by the really good dudes lmao
People need to listen to the Thrashin’ DVD with the commentary track. It’s pure comedy gold.
RIP Pamela Gidley
Meatloaf too, he sang the theme song.
Great movie. Seen it in theaters with my pops (rip) when it first came to out ✊🏼 80s 🍿

My best movie "Thrashin" back in the 80,s
thrashin changed lives...goofy to them, sacred to us
One thing I’ve been wanting to know is if the “Daggers” were created FOR Thrashin or if the logo and “gang” were around before the movie.
They were based off of Tony Alvas skate crew. They dressed exactly like the daggers. Half the skaters who played the daggers skated for Tony Alva.

The Daggers inspiration comes from the JAKS skate crew.
I watched this movie again with my son...and noticed for the FIRST TIME that Large Marge was the truck driver. 😲😲😲
Wild in the streets!🏆
Dave Duncan is so sick, dude shld do more interviews and tell more stories
I created the dolphin flip trick back in the late 1990's. But I was gonna call it the harder flip or the ghost flip
When is Thrashin coming out in 4K or even blu ray?
Bought it on blu ray off amazon
Wasn’t “JAX” tagged on the side of the box truck ? Or somewhere I feel I remember JAX tag being shown
Best times in Texas eating shrooms and chilling with friends. Wild Texas night sounds about right 😎

Keep the Daggers Alive !!!
Daggers forever !!!
🗡️🗡️🗡️ 🤘🤘🤘
There should be a campy remake. I think it would make an entertaining musical.
That movie got me into skating. But couldn't get a decent deck. Got the crappy one with the plastic bubble. Couldn't get good at it.
I have a VHS and DVD.
I permanently changed my name to Micky Dagger
I have that shirt…
He mentions the 'Jaks'.. .If you look, theres graffiti in Thrashin' that says "Jaks' on it...
team pain
What does algerio mean?

Please get Duane on the show.

@@fernandomaron87 lol yeah that's the point. But I don't know the take on this Mark Oblow thing, I'll have to look into it.
Where the F’ is Duane Peters these days??
