Nehru was a pacifist and not a futuristic man. In those times Indian Govts policies were based on non alignment and we didn’t perceive China as a major threat. As Hindi Chini bhai bhai as a slogan were given. However China back stabbed us in later times. In the time of Nehru, he was so ideal about future that only positive will happen. And here he does that mistake.
Moreover, we were not so economically well off to fund the Gwadar port militarily and administrating that port would be like a white elephant for our govt in those times.

The decision taken by Nehru is completely correct. After so many wars, India could have unintentionally lost this port. And many of our resources would have been lost in it, commercially it would not have been significant for India.

In my opinion, he was right in this decision. It was unmaintainable as per the state of the Indian economy at the time. Everything looks glorious in hindsight.

सिर्फ गाँधी जी के जिद के कारण सरदार पटेल नही बन पाए थे
मौलाना आज़ाद अपनी जीवनी मे अफसोश जताया था नेहुरु के समर्थन का, c राजगोपालचरि भी नेहरू के pm बनाने से सहमत नही थे।
