This is exactly why I didn't rush to buy the spark 2 my spark mini works just fine lol but this is exactly what I needed not gonna lie I love how positive grid is stepping up BUT that BATTERY SHOULD COME WITH IT MANDATORY PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE WITH THE BATTERY U CAN PLAY VIRTUALLY ANYWHERE SPARK ADD THAT BATTERY OR ATLEAST A PACKAGE DEAL
This is being marketed as an outdoor amp but you have to buy the battery separately and that alone is $79. What a scam. Why not include the battery ffs.
@@JohnLloydDavis bc positive grid has done a really good job of not letting people know they are a scam of a company,
Awesome video! Great job A.R.P.!!!
I wish I knew this before buying the spark 2. I don't see any reason for buying the spark 2 instead of this one
Thank God I don't have the spark 2 yet. So I wait for the edge. 💪💪👍
@@robinhoefnagel4805 I also think it should be known earlier which Sparks are new on the market
Maybe new Minis will be added soon? 🤔
Unlike the Spark 2. This amp isn't stereo! So if you don't care about stereo go for it.
@@williamking7420 so you need 2 of them for stereo sound?
I think it will be more than two times the price of spark 2
Hey ARP, How does this compare to your current busking rig? Does is keep up with the Showbox?
Wondering the same. I just got the Showbox. Between the breakaway mixer, dual pedal jack for looper and effects, I'm happy with it. For me, it's a complete game changer. So, inquiring minds would like to know... is the Showbox your go-to rig?
If one of the guitar players wanted to use say an HX stomp, can the inputs accept this as well? Will there be additional latency using it as a PA for Keyboards or external guitar modelers?
I’m glad I didn’t buy Spark 2 for busking with an external mixer. I hope Spark Edge will be available here in Japan soon.
Hi PG Folks, I am a lucky user of the big brother Spark Live. How does is work to chain 2 Spark Edge as a stereo pair? Is there a special In an Out?
This is a good question as I'm very disappointed that the Live doesn't connect to another one in stereo (only in Series) or doesn't have TWS via Bluetooth, which pretty much every PA system at this price point has... I can't help the feeling that PG are a runaway train at the mo, chucking out new gear that hasn't necessarily been thought through that well, but with a LOT of marketing hype behind it. Which doesn't make me feel that as an owner of their gear I'm going to be able to rely on continued support through the lifetime of the equipment...
Does it have a monitor/headphone jack?
yes. watch the video.
Wish I didn’t buy spark 2 now…
Hopefully there is a discounted price for spark 2 purchasers…
I have an idea, how about we focus on making the existing line better and actually usable rather than putting out more products that no one asked for? Just a thought.
Don’t like it don’t buy it. No one asked for automobiles, either. Be nice.
The fella above has a point. All these amps should of been advertised the same time rather than rolled out months apart. People who have bought the Spark live and 2 must be kicking themselves.
can you record what you loop? like on an ipad
How much? I went to the website and I submitted my pre-sale information. I was only able to find out it was 65W, but no price.
Will the sound be in stereo or mono?
I just saw it on their website!
At first I was interested in the Spark Live…but I don’t need that much juice (150watts). But 64 watts would give me more headroom than my Spark 40. I might be interested in buying this. Signed up for the notifications and ‘price.’
I am trying the Spark Live right now and it is much louder than I needed. The Edge looks more like what I am looking for……the built in looper is nice too...
@@Skiman13M The Spark Live does play very nicely at low volume levels too though...
@@Skiman13M Have you ordered the Spark Edge? I want to know the price. I think it’ll be a tad lower than the Live…but cost isn’t an issue…just curious. I wonder when they’ll be available to order. Aside from the power, how did you like the live?
@@syn707 No, the Spark Edge isn’t available yet. I think the pre-orders start October 15th. I am also curious about the price. If I find anything I will let you know!
The Spark Live it pretty awesome but not as convenient in weight as the Edge. The Live does sound great!
@@Skiman13M I imagined it the Live sounded great. When I learned about the extra inputs I got pretty interested. I run everything now, Roland GR55, Spark 40, efx on batteries so the Edge will fit right in. Were you ever interested in the cabinet? It being straight AC operated fell outside my interest zone, but seemed pretty cool.
Is this just marketed for accoustic busking? Why does the guy presenting this amp feel like I've just stepped into an Apple shop and all of a sudden I have been pounced on by one of the sales team..
Positive Grid if you don't include the battery with this product at an affordable price, I am not buying it. You used to be a really value-offering company, but now you just rip off with these side purchases. I have been very disappointed with how you sold the bag and battery separately when the Spark 2 was released.
i read it outputs only in mono and not stereo?
I'm slowly thinking, I'll wait another year. Let's see what will be on the market then. 😂
The line doesn’t concentrate on one model.,makes people regret and confuse..
I wonder how this compares to the spark live
Both amps have 4-channels, Spark App integration, and are designed for performance. LIVE is 150w with a pole mount and a gyroscopic sensor for full stereo spread, allowing LIVE to replace a full PA system and compete with live drums. EDGE is a 65w, ultra-portable (13 lbs/6 kg) performance amp designed for mobile musicians, who need hi-fi sound and looping functionality in any setting. Both amps support 1/4” and XLR input.
how much is it?
€479,- Thomann !!
But you said the spark 2 speaker turns off when using direct outs due to "phase". Clearly that was some BS so you could push this product mere months later.
We are bringing an update to Spark 2 soon that will not bypass the built-in speakers.
@@positivegrid awesome news, glad to hear it!
@@positivegridsoftware or hardware update? If it’s hardware I’m returning,
Price?
Does it have drums for the looper?
Yes, Spark EDGE has all of the groove looper features found in Spark 2.
Super 👍
Calling out the price now:
$300 with pre-order
$350 on release
$80 for a battery
You're welcome
Stereo ins and outs for a mono amp?
Watch out for this!!! I have a Spark Live and have spent some time emailing back and forth with Positive Grid support; I thought my Live had an issue, as there was no detectable stereo spread when connecting a stereo source in to the inputs 3 and 4. These are clearly marked 'STEREO' on the back of the Live, and PG have confirmed, in writing, that this in fact incorrect, and the two inputs SUM A STEREO SOURCE TO MONO.
I don't know of course is this will be the same with the Edge, but it looks so similar in every other way, that a) I was amazed when I saw they were releasing this; I honestly can't see what the difference is, other than looks, between the Live and the Edge and b) I therefore assume that the inner workings are basically the same, and therefore inputs 3 and 4 on the Edge will also sum to mono...
where be ando san with his 8 string? the electro acoustic makes it not very exciting
No 50000 tone but 100000 tone
Am I the only one who thinks the singing voice sounded boxy?
€479,- Thomann !!
🤔
No pole mount. Deal breaker for me
Spark LIVE will better suit your needs if you’re looking for a live performance product with pole mount.
@@positivegrid Been there and done that. I returned that one as the vocals never sounded full and warm. Maybe they will make a LIVE 2 with better sound?
@@jlepre752 Maybe have to wait for the Edge 2 as well :)
@@positivegrid Price or are you not able to divulge?
How does this differ from the Spark Live besides being smaller?
This is a cheesy video! Does not make me want to buy it. Just the opposite!
Honestly, you could have made better video. Blondie is barely audible when he sings outdoor, and indoor you don't know are you hearing Spark or his acoustic guitar. BTW Did you mange to fix that digital hiss thing on new series? I see that smart jam didn't get any upgrade and still sounds like def person put couple of random tracks together. You should really try to improve your old line of products instead of hyping new products every couple of weeks. It would make you more money in the long run then repackaging unfinished products every couple of months.
I also think the video is boring and shows too few possibilities. An e guitar with great a changing sounds would be more exciting. The indoor recording almost sounds like unblugged, as if there is no amplification.
The Guy has an own Channel of busking (August Radio Project). It is a very informative channel for buskers.
On my opinion: This product review is realistic and not purely promo. Anyone knows about the good electric guitar tones of the spark, but if the acoustic sound and vocals can convince is not clear. The preamp for microphones on the spark live is not adequate for me. So I hope it will be better on the spark edge.
Seems very similar to the Alto Busker amp.... Which I sent back. Great for backing music, vocal levels really let it down
The fuck was the point of the Spark Live then? 3 amp releases in the last year is a bit ridiculous. This company truly sucks and please don’t get any more of their products unless one spark suits your needs.
Just buy an old spark 40. Ive got two now. Being smart with money these days.
Completely different use case...
@boimesa8190 indeed but with custom batteries a mixer thru aux in would still be loud outdoors. Difference in sound quality though
Ilove all you shills...it's not bad but it's straight suss they dniNOT include the batt in the price...that's a straight bait and switch on something that is for "busking"...
August is a twat....but fun t.
