Relocating from CA in a year or so, we need all the help we can get. Extended family, no kids but they are planned, so the school information is very helpful.

Hi Erika, we are fully time realtors and happy to help in your home search. Please call or email us. Info in the video description. Looking forward meeting you!
Very helpful information, really appreciate. We are relocating from CA sometime this year. And all my Asian friends recommend Mclean because it’s excellent schools ( we work from home, and has 2 and 5 year old kids) but one friend ( lives in Alexandria) did mention that McLean has a lot of tiger moms and dads, almost all students go to academic after school classes if they want to go to AAP. Is that true? Also my second question, besides higher house price, is there any other cons about Mclean? Like too boring, soulless, not much to do? Thank you so much.
Dear Serena thank you for your support!!! There are many areas, like McLean and Great Falls where parents like to challenge their children academically as well as athletic means. I will say that people who live in Northern Virginia are highly motivated individuals. Some areas, like the ones you mentioned have their own communities. There are many after school activities and on weekends there’s plenty to explore. Most active families opt for bike trails, basket ball and baseball courts. In addition, we have access to many lakes and Great Falls park. Because of our location, we have comfortable access to Maryland and D.C. If you like fresh produce, we have organic farmers markets around Northern Virginia. Of course, McLean and Great Falls offer a wide variety of markets. Please let us know if you have additional questions and we would love to answer and discuss them on our channel.
@@northernvirginialiving thank you very much. When I saw the Alexandria video you made, I really love the old Alexandria part: super walkable, always have something going on, very artistic neighborhood, and close to water. But most of my friends says even Fairfax has the best schools, McLean has the best of the best. So I guess we will still focus on Mclean. 😂 Again, keep up with your great work!
To answer your second question, McLean in general is a large area and has a variety of lots and homes available. Compared to Great Falls, which borders McLean, the lots are smaller and the community is exponentially growing. As a result, the schools are becoming overcrowded. At this moment, Fairfax County is rezoning McLean, Vienna and Great Falls. McLean living has many benefits. Here are a few that stand out. 1) Close proximity to the beltway and the district. 2) Excellent schools 3) Luxury living 4) access to Parks and lakes Cons 1) Higher cost of living 2) smaller lots, closer proximity to neighbors 3) overcrowded 4) traffic could be an issue
@@northernvirginialiving oh wow, the cons are not so nice. Where can I search the school rezoning info? We don’t mind a smaller lot, feels like less maintenance, and maybe a closer community? Thank you.

Enjoying your videos most informative Victor and Roya. Two questions what are the best areas for a mix of retirees as well as good schools for raising family. Secondly, in recently years have any of these areas suffered from any natural disasters like hurricanes; flooding and tornadoes. Thanks for your feedback Lou
Thank you for your kind words Lou, and thank you for watching! I'd recommend looking into Ashburn/Leesburg. There are several retirement communities in the area with lots of outdoor activities, shopping, dining, etc. Schools are highly rated in the area. Check out Vienna/Mclean area as well. Here you can find more established/well-developed neighborhoods and surrounding areas. Mclean schools are top tier not only in VA but in the entire nation. We rarely see any hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, or other natural disasters. N.Virginia's weather is known as a "Goldilocks Climate" - not too hot and not too cold. Hope this helps!
If you had to include manassas in there, what would you rate it? Is it a safe place to live? Their home prices are more reasonable but that makes me wonder if it’s a safe place to live. Great video!
Manassas is great to live and is very affordable. You can easily find a single-family home in the $500k price range and townhouses in 350-400k price range or below. Check out the Manassas Park area. It's considered a better investment. Also, look into Gainseville and Bristow. These are great alternatives and safe as well. I would recommend staying as close to i66 as possible for easier commuting. It helps also to avoid rt28 since it can get clogged up during rush hour. Hope this help!
