Few positions in sport carry the weight of expectation quite as large as the seats in Team GB's Coxless 4 rowing team. World Sport joins Alex Gregory, Moe Sbihi, George Nash & Constantine Louloudis as they prepare for the Rio Olympic Games under the watchful eyes of coach Jürgen Grobler.

What is the purpose of rigging a sweep boat that way? I've never seen it done before, and is it allowed in the actual Olympic race?

It's called a bucket rig it's slightly less common but suits certain crews

If you need a stroke man who is able to row only at the right and the lightest of the crew also is able to row only at the left, then you can put the crew like that. However the two central men must be very strong, because the other two are more advantaged in forces terms. It is obviously permitted at the Olimpycs (consider that italy won the 2015 world champs ilke this)

Ethan ASFX I agree they probably should have had that race, it's just a shame it ended the way it did.
