Vitas only went higher 1 time opposed to Dimash going higher 3 times and Vitas didn't use staccato. Vitas' people told Dimash he wasn't permitted to ever sing it again! 👱♀👱♀👗👗👠👠💓💓
This was the second performance of The Singer competition in 2017. The man who raises his fist in the air at the end is Dimash’s father. He came from Kazakhstan to support his son. However, Dimash knew nothing about it when he performed.
I think it was very difficult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle in this country and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 19 so I can imagine…). And after that performance he saw his dad. Indescribably beautiful and emotional.
During the Opera 2 performance, he flirted with the audience in a way that wasn’t really his habit at the time (fortunately that has changed in the meantime). And afterwards he said that he was really uncomfortable that his father saw him like that🤭. Luckily he didn’t find out until afterwards because I love it when he’s like that on stage🥰.

Please react next to Olimpico from his Arnau concert. In this song he sings in Italian. You can find it on Igor Krutoy‘s Channel. He is a famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. Olimpico is another masterpiece that Igor Krutoy wrote especially for Dimash’s vocal skills. This song and this performance is my absolute favourite🥰. I think this version is the best, because his performance is so intense and breathtaking. The light show, the background dancers. Everything. With this song in this version I have gasping breath all the time. The way he represents himself on stage, the hand movements. I think he has incredibly beautiful hands🤭(and apparently many cameramen think so too, since many of the camera shots during his performances very often only show his hands. Sometimes it seems as if he is conducting himself. This is really fascinating). And the facial expression, the look. There he looks so demanding and commanding😱. There he is such a Beast😳! It’s absolutely stunning. Gasping and racing heart and I’m not even talking about him singing. Oh wow I’m starting to rave again…🤤 Sorry but I can’t help it🥺. I swear it is mind-blowing 🤯

I just thank my lucky stars that he's such a well grounded, down to earth non pretentious individual to go with it. If you had a right to be as obnoxious as you were talented he could be truly unbearable.

Addict is indeed the right term. I listen to him every day... and I can listen to my favorite one (Know, Arnau vocalise version) during hours (I have a playlist with 20 versions of this song...). The reason is that he has the ability to transport me in another world. Instantaneously. Systematically. No matters how many times I already listened to the song, this is the magical power of his talent. Not only his voice, because Dimash is so more than an insane vocalist, the best of the world: he is a global artist, with extraordinary skills in so many areas (his latest masterpiece The Story of One Sky powerfully demonstrates it). He is an absolute genius. The ultimate performer. The next level. And the only one able to improve perfection, because his talent has no limit.

In an interview, Dimash said he probably wouldn’t have been quite so “cheeky” (it’s pretty clear he was enjoying himself with this one) if he’d known his father was in the audience. His papa reveals himself after the end of song.
He wouldn`t be so cheeky if he new his father was there. You can see a glimps of his father several times, but Dimash thought he was alone in China for the first time. He always travel with his whole family all over the world. And he said he felt so alone, but his father took a plane from Kazhakstan to surprize him. He was only 22 in 2017, and still a boy in his mind, and missed his lovely family very mutch. Of course Dimash is very addictive. But it is only in the beginning, until you get used to it, and know him for his beautiful voice. I had to take a couple of weeks off Dimash, summer 2022, because his voice was even in my dreams. I could hear him in the background everywhere. His brother Mansur is composing music now too, he plays the guitar and his sister can also sing very nicely. Thank you. Love from Norway.

Vitas, the Russian singer who wrote and made this song famous even in China were he has toured, modulates up once. Dimash modulates up twice more.
This is kind of a take-off on a Russian folk song, that's why Dimash's costume looks like a Russian peasant's " great coat".

You need to react to know vocalise. The Arnau version. He does the song know at each concert as a vocalise with no lyrics only notes. In this way you get to experience his voice as a true instrument. It's also a very intimate performance that really pulls you in. You will not be disappointed

Singer (back then called "I am a Singer") was a competition show for well known accomplished singers in China with huge fanbase...Dimash was the youngest one in the history of the show, they invited him as a wildcard/dark horse...And he had to learn new songs for evrey episode in one week, the producers decided what to sing. This was Vitas's song, and Vitas and this song was already well known in China at that time, and knowing Dimash's abilities, they gave it to him to sing it. And ofc, because it was a competition, he had to add someting unexpected, something new to it - in the original version Vitas raised the key, so the audience expected it...but Dimash raised it 3 times more, and they went crazy...And he did it with such ease,! I love that naughty smile on his face...And how he played with the audience! He is such a captivating, charming, charismatic performer, a real showman not "just" the most takented, most skilled vocalist. Those who envy/jealous of him bcs they are loyal tol their idol (and they think if they dismise, diminish Dimash maybe their idol could shine brighter, or dunno...) use to say, he is only a technical singer without emotional effect, and he shows off ..blablabla...While Dimash has it all! His incredible palette of vocal technics and his crazy control all over his huge, range, dinamics and breath allows him to use them as tools both to put a show & convey emotions perfectly as he wants. Most ppl say - included me - that even without understanding the lyrics they feel what he sings. Cos he immersed in the song, feels it, lives it, and we can feel what he feels. Ofc there are songs like this, which about having fun with vocals. But even without vocal fireworks or much dinamics he has many emotional, touching, "simple" songs which he sings so beautifully, inimately, that they moves you, makes you cry...
I do know of this compitition I actually live in china, been here for 4 years now, I had seen pictures of dimash but never seen him perform. I have seen vitas befor.

Dimash went viral after the 1st ep of Singer 2017, he got 600 million views, and was big in China, he performed on huge prestigous events, shows etc, sang soundtracks for movues, dramas, online games, won many big awards...then since 2020 when the pandemic started, he couldn't go :(
Probably that's why you haven't seen him. The majority of his Chinese songs, performances are not on his own YT bcs kf copiright reasons, but on Hunan TV, BTV , Mango TV, YouKu etc channels, and bcs of sometimes the shows did not bought the copyright, his video got blocked. Like the phenomenal Queen Medley on Singer 2019 (he was guest performer, invited to sing duet with obe of the participants, it was a temporary firmation, a group of young singers who took part in Super Vocal competition , so it's xalkex Fore er Queen , Dimash & Super Vocal boys. You can find it on Vimeo, on YT only there is version with a puc la,ered on the video. )

Hunan Tv used to delete all videos of the previous season when they started the next one, then months later they reuiaded them, but that time without Eng subs. But on Dimash Kudaibergen Fanclub Germany channel there are all his perfornances in Singer 2017 season with Eng subs.

I loved your reaction and comments as well. It is hard to find the words to describe Dimashs' voice and showmanship because the words have not been invented yet. I do not want to miss a single one of your reactions to Dimash. You are in for such an extraordinary musical journey. To top it all off, he is the most humble and appreciative man to be so loved by his fans, or as Dimash calls us, his "Dears."
Don't mean to bother you, but, of course, I watched this again, The original song was sung by a Russian singer, Vitas, whose manager threatened to sue Dimash for doing this song. It was stated that Dimash went two octaves higher than Vitas. There are more covers that Dimash has sung that ended up being better than the original singers. Wait til you hear Ikanaide, All by Myself, and Hello. Thanks.

This is one of Dimash’s iconic performances and I’m glad you finally felt a bodily reaction!
FYI, Dimash was only 22 years old here when he won this episode (Round 2) on Chinese show The Singer 2017 with this cover of Opera 2, originally by Vitas, Latvian-born Russian singer, songwriter and actor.
Dimash also won Round 1 with SOS and Round 6 with Adagio. All incredible performances and all the more amazing as he was the first foreigner to be invited on the show, a total unknown in China competing with well known, established, professional Chinese singers being judged by an audience of 500 Chinese music industry related people. He literally brought the house down with his first performance of SOS, becoming an overnight sensation in China and a global phenomenon.

Nowhere will you find a single version of Vitas' live performance of this song. When a law banning phonograms was passed in China, Vitas did not perform there anymore. As a singer, you can't help but realize that Vitas is not a singer, but an automatic performer.

There is an extended version of this vid with subs that shows backstage. His father is hiding in the audience to surprise him, having come from Kazakhstan to China. You see their exchange and love for each other. Dimash seems cool and confident on stage, but he asks his father "Did I sing well?".
