As someone who doesn't have any drift driving experience, but understands drifting from a chassis level, that car looked like you were driving on a simulator. It doesn't look like you were stressed at all, and you were comfortable instantly. From a design and practicality standpoint, Corvettes make so much sense as drift cars. There are geometry advantages that you cannot replicate in other cars. The transaxle is a huge help as it creates a huge amount of mechanical grip. Not only that, but it is a car that comes with a factory V8 and fiberglass body panels that are easily replaceable. While it may not be the most soulful drift car, practicality is king to a lot of people. It is similar to the LS swapped RX7 debate. Yes, an LS may not be as unique and special as an LS, you cannot argue with the reliable horsepower a V8 can produce. I would say do whatever you have to do to get a C6. It is like the 350Z thrash car, but you have to do less stuff to make it do more than a stock VQ 350Z ever could. Get that shit, and shred until you run out of tires.
I totally get the desire for a V8 thrash car like a GTO or a Vette. Personally, if I was going to build a car that was both stylish and very capable, it would be stock 1JZ VVTi E36, but you can't argues with a dead reliable appliance like a Vette. I hope you get one soon. The world needs more seat time cars, in every driving discipline, not just drifting.
the in-car camera and especially the audio is outstanding, can hear you talking clearly in a normal voice but can still hear the car and tires. Awesome.
Disagree. Very similar but I think the C6 has many small improvements. The chassis is alot stiffer I think for starters. They're just better cars in every way. Look better, better engines etc
Kyle Scaggs if you're buying them as a car to use mostly as is or as a street car the C6 is definately better in every way. I've been a tech for 10 years now, not worked on as many C5s as C6s but worked on and driven both. One of our main customers has a built C6 with TH400, 9 inch etc that we maintain. If you're buying them as a shell or planning to do full builds on engine, trans etc then sure it doesn't make much difference. But unless you just don't have the money to buy a C6 I don't know why you would get a 5
I seriously hope you don't get rid of the C5... The C5 can literally be just as good as a C6. And there's several people I've seen drifting them with little work like the C6. Main thing it needs is just the steering angle and handbrake. Just kinda crazy to get rid of a good C5 that works for a more expensive C6 and then still have to do the same mods. :/ Was this guy Marc Rose on youtube I use to follow who had a simple solid Convertible C5 he would drift. And I even think Aaron had a guy on his channel who did steering angle and suspension stuff for the Vette. Think it was Vettenuts or something website that specialized in like C5 and C6's.
For real! C6 is such a big jump in price for not that much when you could get the C5 up to par with it with little work. Aren't we all about getting the cheapest seat time car? C5 is legit!
Exactly! C5’s are so close in chassis design it makes no sense. All of the people telling him to buy a c6 obviously have no idea that fundamentally they are exactly the same car
The frame is completely different, both are wonderful cars though, I've had both but I can definitely say my c6 was more refined. In terms of drifting I couldn't tell you.
Dude thanks for this video! Can’t wait to get this setup on my drift vette! Btw would be nice if you put 3rd camera somewhere outside so we can watch some smoke or how big the angle on front wheels 🤟🏾
If you played Forza Horizon you'd know this car was the best drift car out the box. The SuperCharged version is nuts. No mods, no setup changes, just drifts for days with epic control.
Yeah Ik he does I'm really talking about him in specific alot of drift guys love their 2jz and rb when v8 is were is at In dragracing/drift/autocross anything you can think off a v8 is always better and more reliable
Also curious, with coilovers are you getting rid of the composite leaf spring or just adding stiffness to the suspension with the leaf spring still in place?
Send it to RPM for their heads / cam package and see 600+ HP at the wheels. Plus its more reliable with upgrade valves especially at the drift RPM range.
Ethan Galbraith you fail to realize his c5 is literally just about the same chassis as a c6... economically speaking, he could just put the knuckles and a cam in his c5 and have what is exactly the same car for all intents and purpose
Did you put in another 2005 diff or did you use one from another year? when you swapped it did you keep the 2005 trans and just change the tailhousing?
Solomon Garemani first of don’t be a fucking racist Second off Japanese cars are one really reliable and there’s a lot off after market race car parts and third that Corvette was either made in Mexico or Canada so get the fuck out of here American cars are cool and all but one there way overpriced and most of them don’t have the greats car control out of the gate and way to much electronics
Figuring out a c6r or c7 forward leaning type radiator setup and a good venting hood will help tremendously with the cooling issue. Im looking at a c6r type hood for my car right now. You also might be able to get away with better cooling fans and a cnr or DeWitts radiator.
This just popped up in my recommendations after seeing your post last night about getting a new drift car, I think the Miata would forgive you if you went for the corvette 😅
I've seen LS2s make close to LS3 power before with a very good cam designer, but LS3 has the tq curve, flow and rev advantage out of the box. If this was 05-07 it is LS2. 08 onwards was LS3. But someone making 600 wheel with nitrous, cam/springs/pushrods + LTs is exactly what I'd expect from my LS3 s2000, so either quite built ls2 or an ls3.
Putting ls3 heads on an ls2 is a very common upgrade as they can be found used for relatively cheap. Just get them milled .030" to retain compression, and throw in a custom cam, springs, etc, and you'll quite easily be in the upper 400whp with correct supporting mods. The heads are the biggest difference between the two motors besides the ls3's slightly larger displacement. So the power level differences wouldn't really be enough to be considered "trolling". BUUUUT, the Ls3 cars are much more desireable as they also come with the better TR6060 manual trans, which would be the easiest way to decipher what year the car is..besides looking at the damn VIN, duh

what bout style
What camera setup did you have on your helmet?
Thomas West don't thrash a GTO they are too expensive to buy go for a c5 or c4 vett
These videos have become a escape from real world stress. Really appreciate it Taylor. Keep up the grind.
Glad I could help. Stress can be hard to overcome. But it’ll get better!
Yeah u right bro.
7:14 - A wild LZ appears
the in-car camera and especially the audio is outstanding, can hear you talking clearly in a normal voice but can still hear the car and tires. Awesome.
"This is so good, its like my car on steroids" ....maybe, because it is lol
That’s why he said it
Love the sound of an LS, best sounding engine! Everything is better with an LS.
Love coming back to this video seeing all the comments telling you to get a c6. Crazy how much progress you’ve made man congrats
How long before Adam LZ has a vette? ;)
Whenever adam gets to drive aarons he will buy one
A week
he already has tho
When did adam drive c6, i don’t remember which seeing it in a vid
he didn't put it in a video that i can recall, but in this video aaron states that it is adams favorite too, which implies adam drove it.
The weight distribution on C6s is almost dead nuts
Definitely get a c6 and sell the z and vette
Reece especially because the mx5 can replace the z. For a small car, then the c6 for the vette.
But then it'll make him seem like a LS fanboy
Reece didn't he say he wants to give the vette away?
c5s are cooler …..pop up headlights!!
But what if he gets a C6Z Vette? 🧐
Not sure why this popped up today after following your vette build, but rad to see that you've stuck to your want to build a c6
Man that looks so good in drift. The way the car tends to squat when it wants to bite on power exit is amazing. Mechanical grip for the win
SO
MUCH
HANDBRAKE
Taylor heart this for the boiis
Two Number 9s wrong channel.
The C5 will drive the exact same with angle and more power.
Kyle Scaggs this is what I was thinking c5 and c6 chassis is practically the same.
Abel Reyes only thing that isn't interchangeable is the rear spring. But Coilovers make that a complete non issue.
Disagree. Very similar but I think the C6 has many small improvements. The chassis is alot stiffer I think for starters. They're just better cars in every way. Look better, better engines etc
shawnmeyer44 having driven and worked on both I'll disagree. They are both stiff as can be. Other than appearance the differences are tiny.
Kyle Scaggs if you're buying them as a car to use mostly as is or as a street car the C6 is definately better in every way. @@Havok412 you can get a slightly damaged c6 for under $15,000
I just got a C5 I"m learning form you guys... thanks!
The biggest difference between C5 and C6 is the head lights , your C5 could easily be this good with some tuning .
The frame is completely different, both are wonderful cars though, I've had both but I can definitely say my c6 was more refined. In terms of drifting I couldn't tell you.

Nicky Rush зашибись, а то я не совсем список спеков уловил)
What size gallo was he drinking?
KeystoneRider 36
Gallo 12 or Gallo 24🤔🤔
this aged wonderfully
If you played Forza Horizon you'd know this car was the best drift car out the box. The SuperCharged version is nuts. No mods, no setup changes, just drifts for days with epic control.
Taylor makes drifting look extremely easy
You'd better buy a C6 would be sick!
Dino Gaggia they’re the same car as his c5... he just doesn’t have angle and the motor is stock
Just put a proper angle kit and a dual caliper handbrake on your C5. Then build it up. Popups lights on the C5 are sick!
C6 corvette is one of the best corvette ever made... it idiot proof and can work in your own garage. Good video guys
why are you handbrake entrying everyting!?
i smiled when he said he's getting a c6, 4 years later look at him now!!
Mark Wahlberg strikes again
Amazing! now you just have to build the C5!
What's really cool about the C6 is that it has a top speed of 198 MPH
personally i think that the c6 looks the best out of all vettes
Same
Adam in the back killing it🤙🏻
And sounding rad as hell. His car sounds so cool when it’s not drowned out by other cars.
I agree that vette matches u definitely make the purchase taylor
james facts it’s literally the same car as his vette... he can just throw the knuckles and cam at his c5 and it’s literally the same car
Dont see to many corvettes drifting......Seems reliable. ..badass
Good lord that sound idk if it’s the cam used but that stuff sounds insane10:03
When drift boys finally drive a v8 "omg this thing is amazing I'm getting a c6" lol I've been trying to tell y'all a v8 is always gonna be better
Taylor has a C5 xD
jose garza you do know that he has a C5 corvette that he drifts right? he’s pretty familiar with V8s
AND he's dropping a v8 in the miata😂
Yeah Ik he does I'm really talking about him in specific alot of drift guys love their 2jz and rb when v8 is were is at In dragracing/drift/autocross anything you can think off a v8 is always better and more reliable
jose garza stop talking noob
Whats the beeping throughout the video?
tbh idk some warning light thing most likely
I think.. I think it was bc the stock parking break was up the whole time lol
Yessss! I missed the drift reviews. Keep doing more!
having the transmission in the rear gives these cars great weight distribution.
The trans am with the LS3 has it beat without a doubt
Do it for sure. Sell the z and get one. Those c6's are no joke.
They're also almost double the price tho. C5 is just as good with an angle kit.
Matt Wynn they’re literally the same car as his c5...
What a great video man I had to show my mom and girlfriend
All right all right you said it all about the driving but you forgot to mention that, while eating the track in a dance, she also SINGS
the car is just super and you can drift on it without problems I have in GTA 4
Drift your vett more!! I miss it. And we all know it rips
Also curious, with coilovers are you getting rid of the composite leaf spring or just adding stiffness to the suspension with the leaf spring still in place?
Build the c5! Would be just as good
Man I wish you did a vid about the loud RX7 in the bacground!
You have inspired me to drift my C6
Send it to RPM for their heads / cam package and see 600+ HP at the wheels. Plus its more reliable with upgrade valves especially at the drift RPM range.
Yup. Thats almost 700 crank n/a and its very reliable and linear. Great setup.
LOVE THAT ANGLE!!
The want for a vette drift car brought me back to this video it's amazing how much better you've gotten as a driver
taylor bring back the vette or buy a newer c6 vette for drifting
Arifee Naushad why would he buy a c6 when they’re the same as his c5?
Love your videos. Your excitement is infectious. Keep up the good work.
Pleeeeease do that. Sell the c5 and 350z. C6 is the way to go. You haven't had that reaction to a car in your videos before.
Ethan Galbraith you fail to realize his c5 is literally just about the same chassis as a c6... economically speaking, he could just put the knuckles and a cam in his c5 and have what is exactly the same car for all intents and purpose
Strat. Attack13 I 100% agree with what you are saying. I just like the C6 better thats all.
Keep theses reviews going!!
Taylor please get a c6 man!!! I love the c5s but man I knew you wouldn't enjoy it as much as this car.
really like the videos bro plus aaron is the man hahaa
Congrats on 300k
3:13 a wild Adam lz hides and stalks his prey
Did you put in another 2005 diff or did you use one from another year? when you swapped it did you keep the 2005 trans and just change the tailhousing?
I own an ls3 c6. Best car by far that I’ve ever owned
Ace driving, highly entertaining. 12:13
4:04 that adams 240 on the right
It’s a sign... this was recommended to me. Pro 2 Vette I the works 👀
The corvette has been my drift car from the time i was lile 3 years old.
I always wanted to ask, the brake handle, is it working all fours or just the front or backs? Awesome Job!
2:33 they sell pills for that
Would u say the c6 has more room inside than the c5 ??
Yes
Don’t sell the z sell the vet and find a wrecked one and build that
Gibson Friedman gtfo it’s personal preference and don’t be racist
Solomon Garemani first of don’t be a fucking racist Second off Japanese cars are one really reliable and there’s a lot off after market race car parts and third that Corvette was either made in Mexico or Canada so get the fuck out of here American cars are cool and all but one there way overpriced and most of them don’t have the greats car control out of the gate and way to much electronics
sell the z
9:25 That is why the handbrake isn't very good. It is an inline system.
These are all signs that you shouldn't get rid of your corvette😊
Wat happen to the video shot from the outside, you should've shot a exterior video
Are you clutch kicking or feinting it
I have, for my entire life wanted a c6. I really want to find a crashed one and fix it
I hope youve found it!
@@bruhmomento1319 not yet! priorities man, working on buying a house but i still want a vette and i am gonna get one one day.

Chevy Forever!
Do you really NEED to brake on every transition?

Matt Field sure knows his stuff =))
knows my ass...fiabilitate si cuplu= drift car unicorn
He should get the z06 fenders to fit the tires, would look mean af
I can hear Adam and his new turbo
what an amazing video
Will a c5 do ?
Don't you need to do like a dry sump or something before you can drift this? This is a base LS3, right?
This thing is freaking rad
Lz in the backround?
Adam Corolla is that you behind the camera?
where is this track? this looks awesome
90% sure that it's an LS3 car. If it's a TX2K car then there is a good chance someone put LS2 fuel rail covers on it to troll people lol
I was literally thinking the same thing the other day.
Right! Because 489whp for a cammed LS is LS3 power range, cammed LS2 would be closer to 430-450whp range
I've seen LS2s make close to LS3 power before with a very good cam designer, but LS3 has the tq curve, flow and rev advantage out of the box.

Might build one for the shop 😀🏎
I have a black 6 speed C6 with a giant pallet of parts for a HCI build if you are actually interested in buying one.
Def doesn’t have LS3 heads because a LS2 is cathedral port and LS3 is rectangle port unless he bought the adapter
50/50 weight distribution
