Phillip Morley was way ahead of the curve. Be sure to search his design made several years ago after learning to be a master at his craft.

Rudy's BBQ. Love it! Love this jig. Might be a PIA to set up, but the accurate repeatability makes it worth it. One thing I discovered using router template is ensuring the friggin face plate on the router is dead center. I couldn't get consistent results and then checked for center and it was off. Now I have full confidence in the router and the jig.

It is very useful and makes mortises easy rather than a difficult.

Nice job Bodie, I have used a similar jig for a number of years, but found one problem that made me redesign the top of the jig. The problem is that single knob to hold the top in place once you have aligned the top to your wood. Over time the single knob is prone to slipping. I found this out the hard way on a table with 8 mortises that got progressively out of whack as I went along. The better way is to have at least two stops for the top. I also now clamp the top in place with clamps too. Its a good jig overall.

Seems like a lot of effort to be able to use a guide bushing and that free floating top only locked in one position doesn't look very stable, at least not around 10:55. What I want to say is that running the router with a fixed top and two fences instead of guide bushing makes the jig more simple and stable, also it's easier to set up aiming for the lines and not have to consider the bushing offset. Also you can easily make double mortices. ruclips.net/video/KBoim06Hmyg/видео.html
