finally! I was about to make my own review of the good old e403 / I was getting really fed up with the really amateurish reviews that reflect so negatively on the attributes of this basic arranger keyboard...
I just bought one for $80 for the kids at the church. I have used many Yamaha ranger keyboards over the years back to a PSR 2000 and now into the very latest of them and occasionally I will use the rhythm and the arranger functions when we don't have a drummer and we're practising. The E403 has a very basic accounting in that section with only one start and one variation, but give it a chance and you can do just about anything you want with it. I appreciate that you are a reasonably good piano player, and that's what's lacking and most of the reviews.
I was about to make my own review and I stumbled upon yours. Thank you! This is a great first budget keyboard for somebody.
...if you run this particular keyboard through a really good stereo keyboard amp - the sounds are pretty good.

... I was about to do a review on this old Yamaha keyboard I had kicking around in my cupboard. Why? Because almost all of the reviews are done by people who cannot play at all. And, the ones that can play have no idea of how to use the accompaniment section. Thank you for showing that this keyboard is worth at least the $80 that I paid for it a few years ago. I have up-to-date Yamaha arrangers in my studio that I use at the church where I play as well, but the basic sounds on the E403 are excellent , and in a pinch, you can actually use the accompaniment section. I find that when we don't have a drummer I can just set the rhythm without the accompaniment and it's not too bad running through a stereo keyboard amplifier. Thanks for the review and playing. Just fooling around? Well it sounded good to me.

Hi Goran...always nice listening to you play...i'm still struggling to choose a keyboard, would you prefer this Yamaha psr e403 or the CASIO CTK 671? And which one is better in terms of keys quality/feeling? Thank you again!

There is not much differences. Casio offers softer touch. Yamaha is a little harder

@@Keyboards.review.repair ok...and what about voices quality? Listening to you playing ctk 671 seems to have much beautiful sounds...

@@andreasantilli9764 yamaha have some sweet called sounds which are awesome and better arrangements and rhythms but poor sound output for professional use. Casio have hi quality output if you intend to use in band and loud sound and better synthesizer function. You can create your own sounds and that can be in very profesional level for some home keyboard. Choice is at you.
