#TeamReplay You all did a FANTASTIC job!!!! It was great to hear! I had the honor to speak to Bob on air while calling CQ for a special club event. NOONE was responding… Then there was Bob! Think we chatted for 30 or so min. So kind & caring! Was great talking to him. 73 Bob!
I had the absolute pleasure of talking to him on 40m AM in Feb 2022. It almost took my breath away when I heard his callsign. I got to tell him that I was actually using the Heil Traveler headset on an IC-718 and a 40m wire dipole while talking with him. He told me how much he loved AM and encouraged me to use it more often and how great of a mode it is. I think I maintained my composure over the radio but I was honestly star struck and giddy on the other end of the mic, and that doesn't happen to me very often. I had always hoped to catch him on the radio again but never did. I'm glad I got to talk to him that time and I'll always remember and cherish that conversation. 73 Bob, see you on the other side. Great tribute all of you. I was blessed to be one of the many Ham clubs to have Bob speak to our club over zoom this past November. I got to ask him about using his PRAS with my 7610 with both receivers as I could only use one receiver with the one I had. He laughed and said well you have to get another one! Lol!
Unfortunately living in the UK I'm never able to watch this show live. Wow what an amazing tribute to Bob. Thank you. RIP Bob. 73s. It was so good seeing George on the show. I really miss those Smoke and Solder projects that he used to do
HI. Amateur radio folks. This man taught me so much. Bob Rest in Peace. You made my hobby come together years ago. 73s and may the dear Lord Rest Your Soul. You will be greatly, greatly missed. And thanks again for all the best advise I got from you and the show HamNation. And a real special thanks for mentioning me and showing me and my station on episode 91.... Catch you up the band. 73 from Nick the Barber. W8NVC
I had the pleasure to meet Bob at Dayton in 2018. Also collected a Route 66 contact when Bob was working the shift. Bob has finally acquired that perfect antenna. RIP, Bob. de KG7OTQ
In late 2011, I had just upgraded from an IC-718 to a new IC-7410. I sent an email to Heil Sound after one of the Ham Nation episodes asking for advice. Bob answered my email with not only which model would work best (HM-12), but also what internal settings to use on the radio! I put in my order and have been using the same setup/settings since...making contacts from Australia on the left to India on the right. 73 Bob...Fair winds and following seas. 😢
WOW , I have been listening to HAM NATION forever. All my rigs are Icom with Heil Microphones and I didn't want to bother you all at Hamcation because you where all busy . 88 Bob and 73 all. Young lady, you are very good at what you do here, but you would be so much more pleasant to listen to if you didn’t use UM as a transitional word between nearly every sentence.
Geez man, she was obviously going through an emotional time and was live to the internet. Maybe consider we don’t always need your criticisms, no matter how well intended you’re attempting to be.

I had no idea he was fellow Illinois guy, maybe I need to get one of his products.
1) "They" said that Ham Nation wouldn't make ten episodes when Bob started.
2) I was lucky to know him. We all were.
