Lol...I can relate! We would drive 6 hours to our spot in Eastern Wa. and hunt for a week. Hike for miles and see does and two pointers all week and come home with nothing, well maybe a grouse or coyote. BUT the time spent there in that area will always be a joy to my heart and amazing memories that I wouldn't trade for anything. The most important part for me was believing that all I saw was created by God for me to enjoy and I did and still do. Because it's He (the Lord) that should get our praise for ALL He has made. Appreciate you and your videos!!
The branch impact of the bullet just prior to hitting the bear was a good catch while editing. I have fouled a shot exactly the same way by hitting a branch between me and the animal. I came up with a way to help avoid it which may have been useful in this case with your bear- When setting your parallax for the shot I think most people just quickly (myself too at one time) get the focus perfect on their animal and then move on to the rest of their shot process. If you focus in and out a little bit with the parallax adjustment sometimes a branch or grass between you and the target comes into focus when it would otherwise "disappear" if just fine focused/parallax set for the target distance. This technique has bailed me out a few times over the years. Incredible content. Keep up the great work
Respect your integrity and sense of responsibility with the notched tag. Bright side, you got to hang out with your buddy hunting for 5 days and nothing is more memorable than that! keep your head up!
That’s hilarious that Samong packed the same exact food for seven days in a row. It always feels overwhelming when packing food for multi day backpack hunts just because there is so many other decisions that have to be made during hunting season. 😂 good save on the beef stew idea 🍲
It’s illegal cuz you dont possess the animal . They need a better system. Alberta has a tag system that works good. Green tag that ya put in the animal when harvested
@@elksplosive2214 that’s interesting. I know there are plenty of people that shoot an animal, can’t find, go kill another the next day. For harvest data that adds up quickly and it would make sense to include that and allow people to report that. I report it on my mandatory reporting when I’ve lost an animal.
Love these types of trips with just your tools and the land for a fun and memorable experience. Thanks guys for sharing this great hunt, always a pleasure to see a post by this young man outdoorsman, and film maker. Gods speed to the crew, family and fans. 💪🏽💪🏽🎥💯👍🙏🏻
Buddy you've got a lot of dedication. I can't imagine what you're pack weight is with all the camera gear and camp equipment, food ,but I'd be kill't in the first two hours. Props to ya
If you can afford kennetrek boots. I highly recommend them I have been wearing my pair for 7 years now and love them. They are very comfortable. I have the Mountain extreme one pair in none insulated and a pair in 400 Insulated. I use the none Insulated in weather down to 20° and the 400 Insulated on everything else. I can't say enough about the boots I think they are the best boots out there.
He wears Crispis. Once you’re shopping in this higher quality level, the fit of the shape of the boot is much more important than the brand name. If Crispis fit better, wear those. If Kennetreks fit better, wear those.
Always enjoy watching your video adventures. This two part series really delivered some breathtaking scenes, and presented a realistic view of real hunting. What an epic grind through some country most wouldn’t even last a day. Thanks so much for sharing with us.
Hey samong I know you’ve been out in the wilderness since you were a kid. Would love to hear your stories of Bigfoot if you’ve had any or scary stories!!
Man, gridding that rough country really tires you out but it has to be done. I shot a whitetail two years ago that didn't bleed a drop. Finally found it after a thorough search. You guys really looked hard and maybe that first shot hit that limb and flew wide. Saw a giant whitetail two days ago that gave me a slip but lots of time left. Good luck
I unfortunately know the exact feeling you felt when you couldn't find your black bear. I was unable to track down my mule deer buck that I shot this year. We found blood, and it looked bright red and could even see bubbles, which made me think it was a lung shot. But it might have just been a one lung hit, because the deer was slightly quartering away and the shot angle was uphill at 9 degrees according to the range finder. We grid searched too, to no avail. It was a sickening feeling. I also notched my tag. Knowing that buck was more than likely dead somewhere made me feel like I couldn't justify taking another.
Hi, I don't think you hit that bear. If you had he would have reacted sooner after the shot. Best of luck for the rest of your hunting season. Thanks for the videos.
Nothing in this video that i care about other then samong tagging out even if he couldn’t find the bear 🐻 but know its dead. All Respect to you my man good luck out there and shoot good. 🦌
Man I’ve been really enjoy the series of this hunt. That was a nice buck and I really wish you both had more time to make a move on that buck. Until next time, hunt safe and Goodluck
Perhaps Samong will see your comment and mix it up with "bowl" or "cirque" or, for the really shallow ones "swale" in future videos. Mountainous terrain features actually have a lot of specialized terminology attached, much of it is foreign language in origin, as they are used by Alpinist climbers. But few of us hunters have any real need to know terms such as "serac" or "col" to communicate our observation and intent to each other. "Watch out for that big chunk of ice." or "Careful crossing that saddle" will usually suffice. 😁 EDIT: Oh, I forgot "couloir" (actually, could not remember how to spell it 😆and it's tough for a Yank like me to pronounce properly). I'd just say: "That chute looks like our best route through the cliffs so we can get up to that hanging basin!"
Different scale for sure, but hunting the hills in Wisconsin is kind of the same thing. Several places to hide but only a few to be able to see them. We have places with very well worn trails and places you could have 7or 8trails in just 50yards or so. Add under brush and trees now you can only hunt a couple spots of some of the sign
My spot for whitetail is a 1/2 mile walk uphill and I drag a deer downhill back. I'm too dang old now to do what you guys do. No packs I could except I'd probably twist something walking on all those rocks.
To me it looks like that first shot on the bear was barely over it’s back judging from the puff of dirt on impact. Good on you for notching your tag still tho.
Was a pass through. Them guns are fast . Likely made a small hole and didn’t do the damage cuz of it being a non lethal shot. It’s common with the guns that don’t have that heavy hitting power
@@elksplosive2214what an unappetizing word salad your comment is. As far as rifle cartridges go, the 6.5 creedmoor is a modest velocity cartridge, leaving the muzzle at around 2700 fps. Bullet construction determines penetration, not caliber. He’s shooting 130 grain Nosler Accubonds, which are a chemically bonded bullet that should penetrate and expand just fine. The issue was the bullet striking the tree branch several yards in front of the bear, not the cartridge and not the bullet
Hey Samong, what’s that bingo holder mechanism you use. Could you give me their info. Thx Great video as usual and very entertaining despite the lack of game. Keep on upwards!
I have lived in oregon for 65 years and all the deer in eastern oregon are about gone for the same reason just people thinking they are entitled and poach instead of enjoying the hunt and not thinking it’s just about shooting the game🤔😳
Wow, have you ever interacted with another human being before, let alone a hunter who may have mortally wounded a bear and couldn’t find it? Your lack of empathy is beyond the pale.
Mad respect for the tag punch

I resect it, but that's illegal where I'm from.

Love the way you record it. Love the gear ,food reviews, plus the game footage. I'm taking notes for my pack in hunts next season.
I discovered your podcasts yesterday. Great content! I really enjoy watching your general public unguided hunts!
God apeed, I respect what you did with bear tag, very ethical! Best of luck, stay safe and God bless

Reaction to seeing the big buck, priceless!
I could watch your camera work all day. Thanks for sharing
Great job!! Really thought you guys were going to make a play on that buck. Maybe next year he will be around and be a bit bigger.
Not easy to film a hunt but I enjoy all the content you putting out
Lettss gooo! New upload. Gonna stop homework real quick lol. Extravagant content as always Thnx Samong!!

Great video guys!
Way to stay after it boys. Didnt notch a deer tag on the trip but u did successfully find ur objective.
Great way to go Bros! Tagged or not, protein never goes to waste.
Been waiting for this!
Man your videos are awesome and only keep getting better 👍👏 !!!!!!!
Where’s the chump in last weeks video that commented that he seen what samong got at the meat shop and that he wouldn’t ruin the surprise?

yous guys crack me up talking about your dedication n whatnot, but still i admire both of your hunting integrity.
Its too bad you didn't recover that bear but good punching that tag!🤙
Looks like NE Washington? Some seriously hard county. Can't believe you guys drug those giant packs all over that place. 💪🏽

Who makes the glassing stick that you were using? Great idea!!
I think they call it a finn stick

Another quality hunting video. Sorry to hear that you didn't find the bear BUT that"s hunting.
It's very rare for a mortally wounded animal to run uphill for any good distance. They will usually seek thick low ground and water.
Did Nate buy the same Browning x bolt 6.5 creed rifle as you?
Nah, we just went in with my rifle on this hunt.
