When talking adjectives to describe these frescoes; I believe we’ll have to invent some new words. Truly quintessential Italian in design, but that chapel did me in (as they always do.) ❤ The proximity to the center of Cortina just adds bonus stars. I loved the view of the alley way when you looked out of the window from the master bedroom. I imagined all the conversations that were held between neighbors, lovers and passersby. You’ve done it again, Nick. Truly exquisite apartment. Thank you. ❤️
I’m amazed at the frescos, gilt and everything in between! They are showing no wear n tear. So unusual to live in a work of art. Thank you Fot this grand tour 🙏🏻
That was stunning! And the chapel is so special! With the Sacred Heart above the Blessed Virgin picture, oh be still my heart! That was the best part of the tour. What an amazing property! You made this ranch wife’s day, thank you so much! Loved it! ❤❤
That’s a really interesting floor plan. Frescos are great! Rarely have I seen a modern kitchen inserted into an old building so beautifully, well done on that. Those hideous air-cons: I’ve seen many covered with a constructed box matching the decor. They have to have a slatted front, of sorts, and you have to know where the remote needs to hit and leave that open. I’ve seen it done quite well, and not so well.
Beautiful. A true work of art. History around every corner. If the walls could talk, oh my the stories they would tell. Thank you again Nick for a wonderful tour of an exceptional property in Cortona.
Absolutely stunning Nick! Cortona is such a lovely town and this apartment is just "wow"! The frescoes are amazing, as are the overall artwork, tile, everything...
Jaw dropping Nick. What a privilege to see such an original and immaculately maintained apartment. Full of exquisite elegance; starting with the front door having such a history of its own. Then the frescos, beyond words. I love the flooring, the curtains and light fittings...just wow. The surprise I thought was going to be a library so blown away by a private chapel. Regarding the split AC units, I would be looking at some complimentary design wallpaper and cover them in that fashion. I agree to give the price at the end, I think the tour has equal billing. I don't know how you find these absolutely gorgeous treasures but thank you for sharing. Cheers from Oz
Beautiful thank you Nick. I totally agree about the white plastic boxes on the walls amongst exquisite frescoes and art. Years ago I found a 2nd hand dehumidifier the outer of which was made to look like wood, a pleasing warm brown. (English )I've lamented long and loudly about black wood burner stoves and the gorgeous blue and green enamel ones in magazines I think were British made. Correct me if I err. I'm referring to at least 35 years ago. Colours available now, but not in that style, and all rather large.
Nick, with all your experience there. I think it’s great how you still have that excitement ❤ for the history, the quirky and the beauty you share with us. Thanks again.
Lovely apartment. The frescoes and the floors were beautiful, especially liked how you could see the wear in the tiles of the small hallway. How many people have walked those floors? Great location and plenty of charm. Another super property!
what a grand place this is. such a sophisticated air about it with the beauty of it's aesthethics yet offers a simplicity and easy feel to it at the same time. italians seem to have a way with blending luxury and function don't they? you keep managing to find such amazing places to take us! i enjoy these videos so much!
Stunning. Italian palazzos are quite unique. At the middle of the video my comment was “Nick is such a pro, loving this”. Definitively one more for prices in the end. I like to absorve the property without pre conceived judgements :)
I love your vidieos. I would love for you to go to other countries and show us more properties. You are great on camera and I love your off the cuff comments.
Oh my, this is a spectacular apartment!! And I have to say that the price is cheap even if you have to do some work here or there. As I've mentioned many times, in So California, this apt would go for 1--2 million dollars. Wow, wow, wow! Beautiful.
Love the interior shutters on the windows. Love the frescos, love the floors, Don't love the A/C units (LOL) Love the painting on the doors, love the furnishings, Very nice that you tell us east and west as this is so very important to living.
Crikey what a beauty!!!! I would lay face up on the bed in the master bedroom for hours trying to interpret every stroke of the paintbrush that is above me. The kitchen is lovely and I can imagine sipping a cup of tea at the table while watching the sun set. You had me with the frescoes room after room but when you opened the door to the Chapel...😍 you know that gets me right in the heartstrings...❤. Worth every penny!!! Thank you Nick xoxo.
Some wonderful surfaces in this place - both floor and ceiling. Interesting twists and turns - internal vistas. Yes, that ceiling in the master bedroom dense with ancient gossip, craft, and perspective . I imagined, strangely, lying in that masterbed *unwell, and how that ceiling would lull as well engage me into sleep, or some kind of dignified release. Kitchen also moved in a dynamic and interesting way.. Oh yes, quite the regal pad.
Ciao Nick, the apartment is just beautiful, sometimes there are no words to describe something, the old saying " seeing is believing " and let your eyes to the describing." Bellissimo " The chapel is amazing and just stunning. I love that Cortona is right there, being in the thick of things, the price is not bad, you can pay a lot more for a lot less in NYC, I just love this place. Thanks Nick another beautiful find. Love from N.Y.
Love your tours Nick. I discovered your channel about a week ago, and I've been binge watching all week. I do love your appreciation and enthusiasm for the art, the architecture and those little artisan details you often pick up on; floor tiles, nooks, locks and hinges etc, you obviously love what you do, I I've been loving watching you videos. On a technical point your video technique is great, because you pan slowly, so many people pan too fast so you can't see the detail, and it makes me a little queasy, so we'll done on your technique. Hopefully I'll be moving out to Italy this year, possibly Tuscany, so maybe I'll get to share a bottle of wine with you one day and talk all things Italian. All the best.
Wow, those frescos! The colors go so well together, very posh. The price seems high but again those frescos & location must have a big impact on it. Great property Nick, cheers Kirk
Nick hello Seems so long since I’ve been here. I had a very bad head cold that I just couldn’t shake off plus the holidays but Iam feeling great and so happy to be able to take another wonderful house tour with you. This place is just beautiful. It’s like a homey museum . It has the history and elegance and beauty of a museum but feels like a home too. I loved all the locks and the knocker on the front door and so happy to see they kept all of that intact . Loved the tile floors stunning.I totally agree with you about the air conditioners . But everything was Tasteful . Never would of guessed a chapel but what a very lovely surprise. I was so taken by how serene it was. Hard to believe it was in the middle of cortona. The view of the alley from that window was just so beautiful and speacial. Thankyou once again for showing us another beautiful property. Good to see your smile have a beautiful blessed day 😁💕🙏🕊
Wow! Exceptional apartment! Your tours are always fantastic, Nick. Thank you for all that you do to share so many incredible listings with us. I really enjoy your channel. Cheers to you from Ontario, Canada 🙂
I literally had to pick myself off the floor after viewing this apartment. Such a beautiful historic property. Lucky to whoever purchases this amazing place.
Oh, oh, oh…just so beautiful! The wings of history really is present in this apartement. Lucky those who can and want to live there. They certainly must have a genuine appreciation of just the kind of living they will have to live here, and maybe that is not for everyone…? You just don’t change things here into somekind of modernity, that must be kept in mind, I think.
Beautiful place! The frescos are gorgeous Nick! The furniture goes so well. Love the views out the windows. That’s a fair price for what you are getting. Thanks Nick!👍
When you learn a property has been sold, would you update the description to reflect it has been sold, please? It would be extremely helpful if you could do that. I fell in love with this property, and I wondered if it was still available. The real estate site is down at the moment, so I couldn't check. It probably isn't because I just noticed this video is a year old. Congratulations to the buyer.
Another great property, Nick!! When I think about the building's age and how it has been redone so well, it is quite lovely. The Master ceiling - once I saw the two different coats of arms and two different crowns I knew I could lay there studying that ceiling and trying to research who it was painted for back in the day. And then wondering if the chapel was added during WWII as a place to worship for the 4 neighboring families? So much history and so much to learn about if you lived there. The layout is odd but only because the plumbing could only be added on one end of the apartment in the day, so rather than tear up all the floors and ruin the interior walls and possibly the ceilings (plaster cracks with vibration), they added the kitchen and baths to the far exterior end. It makes sense if you think about not having any plumbing using chamber pots when this was built! (I noted a few comments about it being an odd plan, but those are my thoughts.) I agree - reveal prices at the end - if you do it in the beginning, then people skip the video if it is over budget but as a realtor I believe it is important to look at things above and below budget so that you can develop a sense of value in the location you are searching. On that note - this apartment was a "$750K" guess in my mind based on the location, condition and history - so I see good value here. I wish it had some outside space though. Side note, if the buyer wanted to remove the chapel, it can be done, but for Catholics buying the home, it should be done with the local diocesan bishop approval. (If the Church has no record of the consecration, then it is not considered necessary.)
A steal for a history freak, but not so much for anyone wanting modern luxury conveniences. I am a history freak and would pay that price (if I could). Absolutely stunning apartment - it feels like a chateau not an urban apartment. Thanks Nick!
Really enjoy your videos, your enthusiasm and love for what you do comes through. My question is does the furniture come with the apartment? Thank you.
It's a lovely place, and a great size for the money and location. I think the chapel means a certain type of buyer for sure. Thanks for another interesting video! (btw - it's great when you also list the taxes and other expenses for the properties)
To be honest: not my cup of tea, but nevertheless a very stunning and really interesting appartment, indeed. The foor tiles with the 3D effect were mesmerizing, what a fabulous artwork. Thanks again for taking us along, Nick! Greetings from DE J.
Hi Nick. Sincerly it is not my cain of taste. After say that I think this property have a lot of adventages. Is in downtown. An excelent managment of the natural light. For the people who like those frescos are stunning. The window wiht a view to the alley is so cozy. Lovely kitchen. and bahtrooms. The chapel is unike, amaizing. The price, in my poin of view iss corret. Thank you Nick for show us thi beautiful property
Tons of history, beautiful frescoes and a chapel to boot. I also liked the various tile flooring. It seems the price is high, but I guess that's Cortona. Nick, did the publication of Under the Tuscan Sun drive the prices out of wack, or were they always high? Well done, as usual. Thanks for the tour.
When dealing with an apartment with such history, a lot of its beauty is in the 'arredamento' furniture and fabrics. So how is that usually negotiated in Italy (I note that sometimes even the kitchens are dismantled prior to handover)?
Wonderful place ...it seems so untouched by modern life mostly . I feel the need to dress up and get my hair done ...can't walk around in this place in joggers
Bella casa. Love it! You're so funny. I thought anything less than 400K was a steal but more like 500. So 700 is still acceptable. You almost had me drop off my chair and running to phone you when you said 'Price, 120.... square metres...' (The words 'is a' were barely audible). 😋 Yes, I would have thrown my whole career away in a heartbeat for £120K!
Ciao Nick! I said WOW out loud...I must admit! It's absolutely stunning and we loved the tour so much BUT...I do think that over 6000Euro per square metre is pushing it! I've been studying the market for years now and that seems rather high to me, regardless of the art involved. Just giving my honest opinion (which we hope you don't mind) and I'm sure there'll still be a buyer out there! 🥰😍☺🤗
The apartment is a work of art! The price is very reasonable for the history within. The kitchen is my favorite part.

Worth it. Best property in a long time. What were those hooks underneath the windows in the alley? Also, do you ever go to the beach area of Tuscany?
Hi Joseph, It was a washing line. 😊 I will be going to the beach later this year. Best wishes, Nick.
Asking price seems very reasonable for such a spacious apartment without too many steps.
WHAT!!The price is unreal! Nick it is absolutely stunning. I was sure it was going to be at least a million Euros!

Bella casa.
😊 N.
That's a surprisingly low price, all things considered.
Hello Nick - hope you are well 😃
Yep, all great. Thank you for asking. Happy New Year to you. ❤️ N.
Fabulous! Is it with a parking space?
No, but as I mentioned, there’s a huge car park at the end of the road outside the walls of Cortona. Best wishes, Nick.

Marisa, I love honest opinions. 🙏 😊 ❤️ Nick.
@@italianproperty I'm so glad...thank you so much Nick! Appreciated you 🥰🤗
Is any furniture included? It’s a wonderful place! Thanks!
I’m not sure Riccardo. I can ask for you. Thank you. Nick. 🙏
