Ma'am, I have a humble request to you. As you also know, in the syllabus of UGC NET PAPER 2 English Literature, they have only given the title of the units like "DRAMA", "POETRY", "FICTION" and so on. Could you be kind enough to post a video in RUclips that explains the topics under each unit? If you do so, it will be a great help for students who are not able to afford the fees of NET online courses.
There aren't any hard and fast rules or criteria for selection..each time it varies...2012, they merged the whole list with a general cut off of 48 for preliminary and 0.33 for mains, including 592 candidates in the merged ranked list and it was an objective test. This time, it was a descriptive test, with 20 questions ( 100 marks). This time the mark distribution was: 6x3=18( 6 questions) 5x10=50(10 questions) 4x8= 32 ( 4 essay questions).

It's simple...the poet says that these rustic forefathers too deserve a homage and somebody should do it...but what the poet can see is their scarcely lit tombstones with some misspelt inscriptions on their tombstones..here he feels that some unlettered muse might have written it... unlettered muse, reference to some uneducated artist , probably one among the villagers . Because, these forefathers being poor, these are the only praise that they get, this is all what they could afford...also there's is an autobiographical note...the same happened in his aunt's case. In his aunt's tombstone, the word 'ressurection ' was wrongly spelt by an illiterate artist, which resulted in a stark difference in meaning. So such cases are common in their cases and the reason is that they are poor.
The writer has written this poem to lament the absence of the villagers who were dead. He further says that though the farmers did not do any great remarkable deeds, they also didn't commit any crimes .They were simple and pure. This elegy is written to mourn over the death of all the villagers . Actually an elegy is a poem which is written in the memory of a person who has passed away in order to lament his death

You will have to attend an interview of 20 marks...pg weightage 30 % of your aggregate....if you have m Phil you ll get 2 marks extra...PhD 3...
