  • In this episode of ‪@DrivingwithGloves‬ Cor flies to South-America and drives more than 1000 km through Brazil to film Volkwagen models you do not find in Europe anymore. He tries to find out why Volkswagen came to Brazil after WW2.
it is not only a story about Hitler and Porsche, but also about Barényi and many more! In this episode Cor doesn't only drive with gloves, but he is also hang gliding without gloves.

Not only very amusing, but also packed with so much information, combined with a spectacular scenary.

Unfortunately I did not bring my normal filming gear with me to Brazil, otherwise I could have given even more impressions about the scenery.

Mahalo for this story about...a parallel world...that is Brazil. The story of the creation of Volkswagen do Brasil is fascinating! What beautiful and generous people, too!
I really believe Volkswagen do Brasil missed a trick by not building that lovely SP2 for the world market. It was as pretty as the VW-Porsche 914. Maybe Audi could have used it in their lineup or the SP2 could have carried on the legacy of the Karmann Ghia.
It was lovely to see what driving through Brazil in like.

Thank you very much for your reply. I totally agree with you about the missed chance of VW with the SP2. Personally I have never been a fan of the 914.

@@DrivingwithGloves I do appear to be one of the few who fell in love with the 914. It was so low to the ground (no trouble for 11-year-old me😆🤣), and it had a mid-mounted engine...like a Lamborghini Miura (😆🤣). The 914 really caught my attention for Porsche. As a child, I never noticed Porsche until the 914 was introduced. Oh...and I like 928, too. That means I'm not a Porsche guy,🤣! I DID get to drive a 924 between Trier and Koblenz one time; I still remember the experience fondly 37 years later.

@jimcabezola3051 since I grew up in the Netherlands, I always loved to see the Dutch police driving Porsche 911 Targa. So that was for me the car to have as a child. I bought finally one when I was 25. So I used to be a Porsche guy 😉

@@DrivingwithGloves As a boy, I saw the toy version of those Porsches with "Polizei" on them! When I moved to Germany in my youth, I thought I would see the real thing, 🤣🤣!
