Hurts me since I get most of my clips from the 1v1 tourneys and there’s a 3/10 chance you can get a bot as ur opponent
But isn't that how most of the clips are based on, I don't see a successful salt clip happening if the opposing player knows how to play, So most of the clips has to bank on the player not knowing how to play and the person making the clip has to wing it, that's why unintentional salt clips are better because it wasn't planned it just happened

I think something important you can learn from these videos is that, even _if_ your clip is real, you should look at it again and ask yourself "Is this truly sick as hell, or does it just look like my opponent sucks"
Because I'm willing to believe a couple of these were real combos against human opponents. It's just that you probably shouldn't have been proud to submit them...
90% of the time the opponent does suck, even for insane clips. It really isn't your fault, since it's not like you're going to stop in your tracks as you're getting it.
They have to be extremely and obviously uncapable for you to avoid going for things.

That unfortunately is heavily based on what an individual considers "cool" its like that saying "One man's trash is another man's treasure" so if anything you more than likely did have a cool clip but if the clip doesn't fit that person's standards then to them it could be considered fake. In the video he said people are desperate, but that's not the case people just legitimately feel that they did something cool and they wanted to show people. this video is equivalent to a child drawing their parents a picture and the parent takes it to work telling their co workers "hey check out this horrible drawing my kid drew"

@@groudon2006 Yeah exactly. Ratsuterra is thinking that these clips are real and Styles just thinks they're bad, but no. You can legit tell whether a person was even pressing a button or an input at ALL by looking at DI lines and missed techs. In most of the clips, there is literally no one on the other controller.
Style has been doing smash content and salt videos for 9 years I respect the grind and dedication thank you Styles

And also for some reason a lot of them had the dudes doing the faking at 31%, like overall it is actually distributed, it's just weird how many clips had 'em at 31%, and I have to wonder why that is
My best guess is they knew they needed to have some damage to make it seem natural, but still had to keep it kinda low so Rage didn't throw off the Training Mode combo they spent all afternoon practicing

Kinda wish the Kazuya clip wasn't fake, because at least that fake combo wasn't the same repeat combo you see 100% of other Kazuya players do.
Kazuya really do be the Luigi/Bayonetta of Smash Ultimate.
Yeah, that was pretty badass, and I even tried replicating it. Hard to say it's fake, if you ask me.
And unlike Luigi, Kazuya requires skill. A 5 year old can do the Luigi 0 death.
Unlike Luigi and Bayonetta, Kaz's combos require tricky inputs and good timing to pull off.

I think that's every clip in general because majority of those you don't normally see especially in tournaments

And the fact that a surprising amount of them had player 1's damage set to 31%.
Even in a video where it’s all really bad and fake, radley still brings the hype.
there's so many common threads to these fake clips, i think my personal favorite is how so few characters involved are on alternate costumes
My fave trend is the opponent always starting the clip with a point-blank unsafe as fuck neutral B
Im worried about the fact that some of the "fake clips" might actually be real fights but the opponent just shut off their brain so it looked like a training mode clip
From how it looks, that last clip was just Ganon being Ganon. His disadvantage is just so bad he can't really do anything sometimes. This clip looked real to me and I main Ganondorf.

Yeah no. It looks like he just gave up like styles said. He could've jumped, done an aerial, SOMETHING to make it look like he didn't just AFK. This applies to all characters, but you should DI away when you're getting comboed and try to jump out of it, especially with Ganondorf. Hell, after watching the clip again you can see at 7:10 it shows him in the tumble animation and he does nothing.
@@ianpung1774 Funny enough I ran into a similar situation, I was being combo'd by a DK and Cloud team, I pretty much just put down the controller but in the end they messed up the combo and ended up killing each other giving me the win

1:08 What kills me about this one is the absolute stillness of the Meta Knight after being grounded when OP wanted to show that the getup attack meant he had to really have gotten it. 10/10 My favorite clip by far

The most painful part to me is, how some people come over, fake clips and not talking about how good or bad they are faked... they wouldn't even be good clips if real. Like, why bother doing THAT. If you want to fake shit, go ham! Do bullshit you've never seen work!

The problem with the Salt is Fake is that people start pointing out fake clips in the Salt is Real. And I start looking for them. It takes me out enjoying people trying to be creative.
The salt is fake vids and yet not s single clip from battlepark is in here but they're in the real salt is real vids. Smh. I played battlepark and he preys on bad smash players. He asked me to switch off my main and to go easy on him and he kicked me for still beating his ass with a random character. Come on now

Some of them, I can't really tell if they're fake or not since I'm a casual that doesn't really pay attention to trajectories and frame data and whatever... But some of them, I can clearly tell the opponent isn't doing anything :c

that last one is good advice. if you are the last on your team and you know you're going to loose. put your controller down so at least it won't show up in the salt is real.
I have a few clips I've been debating on sending you. I know they are t as cool as some of the stuff I've seen on your channel but I NEED more PT representation. If that means I've gotta post my clips then so be it.

Are items or non-tournament-legal stages allowed for clips? I like to play online with preferred rules off and am proud of some of the stuff I managed to pull off. Love the explanations and the effort.

Not talking about you specifically, I feel there are people who either don't seem to differentiate or pretend a clip is fake when the opponent is just really bad. I wouldn't be surprised if some of these weren't even "staged", but they just got them on actual people.
I once got a really sick clip I wanted for over a year, but my opponent just happened to just stand there, and it sort of ruined it for me.

Almost every single fake clip was also both players on last stock and on fd. Just an interesting observation

This is why I don't record any of my clips, my friends are just bad and they behave much like these reported as fake. Also, they had banned me half the roster and I have to play with 60% handicap damage on 1 on 1, or accept a 1 vs 3. But hey, its still fun playing with them, and no shame in enjoying the game regardless of skill level
There should be a way to verify who the player and the opponent were so clips don't get counterfeited, but that'll be hard. I hope there can be a way to make sure clips are real. (For example, if you could see the gamemode the replay was from, but even that may not be foolproof...)

The G&W clip is humorous to me because I had a round start “two-hit Chef into NINE” online and… I dunno. That one I could _feel_ the lack of luck in it. (Though being on an FD instead of a Battlefield and using a Dedede dash attack instead of a Chrom coming down from platform might have something to do with it)
What i learned in boating school: If its starts on one stock each, and a dash attack from the other player, most likely fake.
That ken combo could maybe have been true with an landing up air In place of the dj dair. You could at the very least maybe get a good follow up and rely on elite smash gameplay to take its course 💯
