    I'm a mechanic for nearly 10 years now, my old man was a mechanic for 35-40 years. One thing he taught me early on that I'll never forget is to take the extra 2 seconds to hang up your hose if you're not using it. It saves having to bend over 150 times a day and I noticed a real difference when I started doing it. Cheers, love the videos!

    As a full time taxidermist I always subbed out skull work, but return time in our industry is a key factor to keep happy customers. With that being said I decided to do all our skulls last season using some of your methods. I water macerate, then turbo tip wash with 3000 psi 90-95 % clean. Aqua Silk 2 to 1 mix. It boils at around 120f, leaving no bone harmed or any skull weakened. After 1 hr remove, final rinse and dry, mop&glow. This has allowed me to flip skulls for customers in a month or two, keeping them happy and returning. I propably wouldn't have taken this on without your video posts and greatly appreciate your insight on skull cleaning. Just because a Chemist has a PH.D. doesnt mean he/she knows the true value of a compound unless experimented with. It is definitely a GREASE remover when heated to its boiling point, which is obviously half that of H2O. Brilliant Work!

    Thank you Ryan. Great video. Found my problem. Whitening wash was way to strong and my skull almost fell completely apart, pulled as soon as it boiled and still to long. Thanks for the info.

    Great videos, you inspired me to start skull cleaning! I have beetles and I tried that volume 40 whitening solution, but without degreasing skulls it takes an hour to get the skull white, and by then the nasal cavity bones are flaking off because the solution ate them out. What do you think my problem is? Just having the nasal bones?

    This may help a bunch of people. Not sure. But I use an air wand on my air compressor to “blow” the brains out of the skull. This definitely helps. I then put a little oxy clean in the cranium cavity and boil. The brain and nasal cavity come out super clean

    HI, Im just getting started with doing euro mounts, my daughter harvested a beautiful muley buck this last fall and wants it mounted. I have several heads over the years that my 2 daughters have taken. my question is when doing the cleaning boil i notice that on some of the heads the teeth are getting loose, i keep it at a simmer but must be doing something wrong. any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. love all your videos, very helpful for my first try, thanks. Also most of the heads have never been cleaned until now, is there any other way to whiten them 100% or am i out of luck? thanks again.

    • @MrJasinski101
      @MrJasinski101 3 года назад

      You might be leaving them in to long, but if they do fall out, just keep them and glue them back in, trying to get an old skull white is a challenge, but if you clean them, then degrease them, then whiten with 40 volume peroxide or the new stuff whitebone started using you should be able to get them pretty good. or have you thought about dipping the skulls in snow camo or camo. If they wont get white thats another way of covering them and they look really cool finished

    I am currently doing a sheep crown Mount project but the skull is having some black lines and colouring on some spots and also those spots give out a very foul smell what do you think is the problem.....I currently removed all the meat and membranes by maceration and I'm planning to give it a soak in hydrogen peroxide

    Hey there brother, Is Jake from lower Michigan Again, I have a quick question for you,
    OK I travelled to Tennessee a few months ago and my cousin had gave me a big 7 point that his neighbour shot years ago and gave to his wife's father which his wife's father took and threw it out into the barn and left them from day one of receiving them, So they are now whether, And starting to crack, UMMM, I put mop'n glow on them to see if it would restore some moisture to them, Which seemed to help for the 1st few days but there now looking dry again, What can I use long term to stop them from cracking any worse than what they are, They are too nice of a set to let Them Crack and turn to dust... So if you know of or can think of anything I can use to restore some moisture and stop the cracking let me know MY BROTHER
    I appreciate ya....🤘😒🤘

    So here is a question I have that might possibly be a cool video for you to do if you ever come across it. Have you ever had to fix a euro for someone who had somebody else do it first and they just totally butchered it? If so it would be cool to see the process of cleaning a skull that wasn't done properly the first time.

    if you want to save some cash, a cheap #8 scalpel handle will do the trick very well at about 10% the price of the civilware handle, which is admittedly very nice. Whatever you do, don't use a folding knife! It will get gunked up and take a long time to clean. Not fun.
