I did! I even played drums at a gig! However, that was about 6 years ago and I haven't played since!

Great to see how you guys approach writing. I've always thought it would be interesting to have a camera recording me while I'm noodling because it would be interesting to capture that moment when I discover a riff. I'd like to see what that flash of inspiration looks like. I'm working on a new song at the moment and I'm making videos periodically as I write it. No idea how long it will take me to finish the song though.

Great video, although it would be awesome if you could include a screencapture of your DAW, even if it's just in the corner of the video so there's a visual representation of how you structure and layer things. Program your drums on camera, cut together a quick bit of you mixing. I think if you included these things it would up the production value.
Also I notice that a lot of the time in these videos you cut out or gloss over the lyric writing, but I think that it's something worth including in every "Let's Write" video.
Last time we included everything it was 2 and a half hours and nobody watched it! Also, id love to include the screen capture, but my mac is oooold and can't cope doing multiple things!

Would love something along the lines of adding brass parts to pop or indie songs.
We'd love to, however, we have 2 issues!
Firstly we aren't experienced in writing brass and would do a bodge job initially.
Secondly, we don't own brass instruments and midi alternatives don't sound too great.

How do you oaks go about programming your drums? As a small band it is a real mission to record our drummer for demos. What would be the best option for getting decent sounding programmes drums quickly for sketching out ideas?

Ideally pro-tools, but its quite pricey! Cubase is decent. Heard good things about (but not used) fl studio and reeper!
