    My first Fender when I was 15 is this. It was also a 1972 and looks identical except mine had 6 individual saddles instead of the three.I gave $200 for it in 1974. I kept it for 25 years and I still miss it.

    Not 3rd November 1972, it's a 3 neck=telecaster, November 72, B width

    I'd be more inclined to buy that guitar with the Seymour Duncan still in it. I put a Little '59 in my MIM Tele after realizing that I'm not the country picker that I thought I might be. With a coil split, I can get some more traditional Tele tones along with the crunchy humbucker vibe.

    You can rewire that bridge pickup into a push/pull pot to do the split coil thing and it would sound more like a Tele. I have a similar pickup in a strat in the bridge wired like that, actually into a Seymour Duncan Hyperswitch. So all you need is one pot to make it sound "better". But hey, I'd take that guitar off your hands as is. I bet a buyer will do just that because Tele's are so easy to mod.

    I remember when you couldn't give a 70's fender away, everyone griped about the poly finish and ugly headstocks but they seem to be gaining in popularity lately, they are great guitars even with their sloppy neck pockets and crazy thick poly finish! I have a few 70's Strats that were given to me by a client who I did a ton of work for and I absolutely love them. Have fun with that Tele it's a beauty! I'll take that pickup if you don't want it!

    The term Monkeyd with, it’s more like a guitar that his owner loved and played…too bad it wasn’t kept all OG but at least it was loved and played…

    My tele is very similar to this one except it is a 74 I think. Bought for $450 CAD with a 50 watt Traynor amp in the early 80’s.

      60p is fun. I still prefer 24 but it does look so crispy. Glad you noticed.

    I believe on those old date stamps the number at the start isn’t related to the date, it is related to the model of guitar. 3 doesn’t related to 3rd Nov, 3 referred to telecaster the Nov 72, the B for normal nut width.

    Not my style guitar although I prefer single coil pickups. And I prefer hollow body sound. I got my son Gibson CF 100e with a P-90: super little guitar. Catch you later. Thanks

    The 3 is actually the model code for a telecaster not part of the date

    6:23 Sir. Crossroads is a “great” movie? Really? Tell me you’re trolling.
    Also, why does it sound like a transistor radio? Is that just the way you mic’d the amp?

    • @MashaT22
      @MashaT22 Год назад +1

      It’s definitely from the bridge pickup. Metal and hard rock players have been known to drop hot humbuckers into the bridge to get that sort of tone. That’s why Jeremy said he’d like to swap it.

    • @JeremySheppard
      @JeremySheppard  Год назад

      Crossroads with Steve Vai and ralph macchio is probably the best guitar movie. Britney Spears crossroads is a close second. 😂
