    Elizabeth was so badass.Perfect video for her.

    It was hers from the beginning. It was her rule and her kingdom. She held a stronger claim to the throne than ANY man in England did.
    It's a shame she died in such tragic way she was born to be a ruler and it is from her bloodline that England and Europe have seen many great monarchs.

      She was the eldest child of Edward of York and Elizabeth Woodville... alas born a woman.

      @williethomas5116 Год назад +7

      Agreed Henry VII's blood claim was very weak twice bastarded claim. (His claim as nephew of Henry VI was on the wrong side and Catherine of Valois never legally married Owen Tudor and his claim as senior male descendants from John of Gaunt was through the Beaufort line who wear born while John was married to Constance of Castile but later legitimize when he married his mistress Katherine Swynford)
      Elizabeth was the elder daughter of Edward IV and her brothers died without issue. So unless Henry was going to spend his life fighting off Yorkist so he decided that merging their claim was prudent.

    Elizabeth was a very strong person even as a young woman. Henry would never had been able to bring peace to a tumultous England without her by his side. The establishment of becoming King through the outcome of battle ended after he won the crown. The record of the Tudors that followed may not have been great but his was the last crown to be gained through battle. Lizzie was greatly significant in Henry's ability to rule and bring a sense of stability to England. I doubt he would have been able to do that without 'Lizzie' by his side. It is most unfortunate that 'Lizzie' died so young. I think the House of Tudor may have had a more favourable place in history had she lived longer.

      Etta McFadden the house of Tudor is absolutely legendary history wise, although if Elizabeth living longer may have had some influence I severely doubt it would have made a huge difference in the status or legacy of the Tudors as a whole

      Elizabeth was well loved and a very submissive Quee who didn't really interfere with politics. This is an inaccurate portrayal of her. Nor is anything you said historical.

      She had very little power and was there because she was the heir to the York throne after her uncle Richard's death and the mysterious disappearance of her two brothers, Edward and Richard. At that point she was next in line for the York crown but since many York nobles was uneasy about a woman monarch, they agreed to let Henry rule if he married Lizzie. This way even though her children, grandchildren ruled as Tudors, they still had York blood. Same would have been if she was on the Throne as the family line came from the father even if the mother was the actual ruler, i.e. how the Hapsburg gained the line in Spain and why the Hanover line died in England.
      Lizzie had no influence on the battle that gave Henry the crown. It was the betrayal of the York general, Lord Thomas Stanley who commanded an army of around 6,000 who stabbed, literally, Richard in the back by switching sides. By the way, Lord Stanley was Henry Tudor's step-father. He was the one who had connections to both the York nobles, Henry and Jasper Tudor, the latter being Henry's uncle, and Lizzie York to arrange the union. It was his men who led Henry's men, after the Battle of Bosworth, to immediately go to where Lizzie York was living ahead of anyone else so she would not be warned and bring her to Henry before she could run.

    Awesome video. 👏 Sad to think that Elizabeth died in childbirth and never lived to see her sons grow up. Wonder if Henry VIII would have married Catherine of Aragon if Elizabeth had lived.

      The marriage would have taken place as I believe his parents agreed to it while Elizabeth was alive. They just wanted to wait until Harry (Henry) was a bit older as Catherine was 6 years older.

    For me she’s Elizabeth I. She has more claim to the throne than her husband, and could’ve ruled in her own right. But of course, times were different before.
