The melodies of classical music are an endless wellspring of inspiration. From gentle notes to grand symphonies, each piece is a musical masterpiece, unveiling a world of creativity and sophistication.
3:15 I'm pointing out the dropped left hand here only because I want to highlight the masterful control and adaptation that comes with performing from memory. You don't even notice anything went wrong if you haven't studied the piece yourself. I'm not trying to point out a fault, rather I'm trying to point out a virtue. So many young musicians seem to think hitting every note is what matters. It's not! It's the whole vision for the music and the ability to handle the unexpected when it comes.
Great comment - I just noticed it myself and thought the same thing - it's about the vitality of the performance, not the necessity for 100% accuracy. We're not machines, we're musicians! Interestingly, you can see his left hand tremble just a bit over the F# following the dropped note where he recovers. I'm all for taking changes over mechanical "perfect" playing.
Great catch and comment. I 100% agree. Nowadays, all these music competitions make music into an exercise of playing notes the way the "musical authority" prescribes. But music is nothing more than the expression of the performer within the structure defined by the composer, so I hate it when people say this or that way is wrong.
Yes!! I just checked the comments for this... I didn't notice any other time I watched, only when looking at this video again after learning the piece. Amazing.
@@marionkoetse3985I could agree as it is almost my favorite key aftet the E Minor which is also I see the most comfortable to hear, also I see a lot of simularities between the two keys.
I know this is an old comment: Yeah the Gigue is hard :/ I want to relearn it sometime so I can learn the whole suite. If you are going to learn it: Have fun!
@@jeffreykaufmann2867 it's easy to learn which keys to press in what order but the musical interpretation and expression are very difficult. There's more to playing than pressing the keys.
@@yousafe007 At the end, I didn't played this for my piano exam, because my teacher said it's too easy for me (I actually didn't find Allemande very hard). It took me a few weeks to learn it.
@Tristen Martin if you've played some 2 part inventions you shouldn't find it that difficult. I'm from Greece so I don't know how your grade system works, but for reference I've been playing piano for 7 years and currently I'm working on a prelude and fugue and some Chopin Valses
Meow Maya! Greetings from Switzerland. :) Menuet was actually the third theme music in Gameboy Tetris from Nintendo. ^^ That's how I found the full version way after my childhood. :)
Yes, that part of the courante has a very strange and difficult passage that invovles a wild fingering change. I'm willing to bet that's why he messed up there. The first section of this courante is very difficult, and he messes up exactly where that fingering is. On the second repeat, he plays through at a slightly more cautious tempo
Thumps up if you first heard the Menuet (08:57) on Tetris.
Alfred Raddatz Ahhh it satisfies me
thank you
It's why I went searching for this piece.
Alfred Raddatz I
Only one I played to.
He has such beautiful tone quality and sense of touch; exquisite voicing.

The Minuet is also known as the "C-type" music in the Nintendo versions of Tetris. 😉
it is!

I believe that Andras Schiff's playing will be the gold standard for Bach's keyboard works for centuries to come.
Sudden images of blocks falling and aligning randomly come to my mind.

Bach is so beautiful.
Play the Allemande from French Suite no. 2 at my funeral - its a mirror to the universe.
Came across this one at 4am yesterday on classical FM.... so happy I stayed up!!
The Sarabande 🔥🔥🔥
4:54 don't mind the com i need it for sarabande
The minor bit of the prelude is, for me, the highlight of this suite and an absolute masterpiece.
Glorious! One of my favourite performances of Bach : ) RUclips has many a classical treat for our delectation. Thanks for uploading it.
This piece comfort me ... :(
could it maybe comfort you and so many because it's in B minor ?, His Masterpiece The Hohe Messe is in many parts in the same key

The gigue is an absolute craziness
it's my favourite lol
You know I m playing it right now and I am 12
I played this whole suite when I was 12
I played all of liszts and chopins pieces when I was 8 with absolute ease and control
I know this is an old comment: Yeah the Gigue is hard :/ I want to relearn it sometime so I can learn the whole suite. If you are going to learn it: Have fun!
Type C to pay your respect for Tetris and this amazing remake of this song by this guy /s
I just love this pianist.
I love Bach's music.
The melodies and harmonies sound so perfect and in orrder to me.
Super merci 🙏 c plaisant à écouter 🤩🥳👍💝!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I first hear you play this, (which is now) I thought it was beautiful! I LOVE IT!!!
neither of the pieces are hard to learn but performing is very difficult, he makes it look very easy, when its really not.
why would performing be very hard if the piece isnt hard to learn?

Not a fan of Bach on modern piano, but Schiff makes it work for me.
agreed
Maravilloso,como.siempre..el mejor pianista interpretando a Bach..❤❤❤😊
Bach was a Tetris player for sure 😉
A new bach, so amazing
Just finished learning the whole suite today. It’s a very tricky one. I still need to brush up all the movements again
Just started it. I have been asking Mr Bach quite a few times what he is doing here and there... 😂
This minuet is such a beauty
Fantastic! Great upload!
Schiff helped me a lot on menuet and trio
Это первый раз, когда в сюитах И.С. Баха офигел от Сарабанды! Короткая и очень красивая.
You said:
"Eto piervy paz, korda v siuitah I.S. Baha ofigiel ot Saraband! Korotkaia i ochien krasivaia."
That Gavotte 🔥
I can not get the Menuet out of my head.
I'm playing Menuet for my Grade 4 exam. This guy is just incredible - he glides over the keys.
Yes. Very true. A true master of his time.
Slim Charles that’s what years and years and decades of practicing piano does to a person
You'd rather be dropping tetrominos on the piano.
@@ValkyRiver You'd rather be farming pp on the piano
The allamande is painful to learn until you learn it
04:55 sarabande
08:57 menuet + trio
The most perfect interpretation. Thanks for posting!
I am studying this, and you played so well
Michael Ethan Hoo which one
Love it! So classical, so elegant, so stylish!
nothing classical about that lol it's as baroque as it goes
Oh, the Menuett at 8:57, I love it! Full of joy!!! Much faster tempo than Murray Perahia on his recent recording, but equally nice.
I'm playing that for my Grade 4 exam. About half the speed it's being played here though!
@@largesatsuma true. The speed is actually🎵104-112. He played about 175 bpm
As Bach himself Sound Play it!
Wonderful!

00:05 is so amazing
Bei 7:35 ist die Satzbezeichnung falsch eingeblendet. Sie lautet nicht "Gavotte" (wie die 4. Sätze bei Suiten Nr 4 - 6) sondern "Anglaise"
Bloody Brilliant!
8:57 - You're playing Game Boy Tetris and it's getting close to the top
I love to hear the way he plays
脱力してるのに芯がある、響くのにうるさくない美しい音。

8:57 I can't believe Bach copied the "Type C" theme from tetris and tried to pass it off as his own composition.
🤣🤣🤣
I'll have to play Allemande for my piano examinations on May but...
I don't feel confidend after hearing the way he plays it.

He should play gavotte after trio, not before menuet.
