I’ve been camping literally since the day I was born, and i was taught to be a considerate camper-don’t play your music too loud at any time of day; police your area to keep it neat and if you can, leave the site looking better than when you found it. I just don’t understand how courtesies are not innate. I get you. 😊

Great video! It never ceases to amaze me how just a few people can ruin things because of a basic lack of courtesy, good manners and simple consideration of others. We've come in late on occasions due to some unforeseen incident along the way but always call ahead giving an ETA based on our navigation system estimates (usually pretty accurate). The hosts really appreciate that. We are as quiet as a mouse when we arrive (well, as quiet as we can be with a diesel tow vehicle anyway) and try to be as respectful of our neighbors as we can. We finish setting up in the morning after everyone is up and about.
Story about a stupid, inconsiderate camper that happened to us: We came into an RV park one afternoon where we had reservations. The host guided us to our camp site, guides us in and heads back to the office. When I went to plug the power cord in our pedestal, it was occupied with someone else's plug. The cord belonged to the neighbor's trailer next door which was parked backwards. Reason: he was with another family (they were traveling together) and wanted their door to face their friend's door. When I asked him to please move his plug to his own pedestal so I could hook up, he told me to plug into another pedestal. I told Mr. "Goodneighbor" he needed to use his own pedestal not mine. I offered to help him set it up correctly but he told me not to be an ignorant a-hole. Seriously? Well, I tried. So we got the owner down there, he turned the breaker off, pulled the Mr. "Goodneighbor's" plug out, strung it around the front of his trailer and laid it in front of the correct pedestal. I plugged in and turned the breaker on just as Mr. "Goodneighbor" came out yelling and swearing at me. The park owner stepped in and chewed Mr. "Goodneighbor" out and told him to pack his stuff up and leave immediately. Apparently, Mr. "Goodneighbor" had already been told he was parked incorrectly and to park his trailer properly. The park owner apologized to us and said Mr. "Goodneighbor" would never be coming back again. Let's just say Mr. "Goodneighbor" was not a "happy camper". The Sheriff's deputies were called and he settled down real fast. I kept my distance in case something went down but everything was peaceful and the troublemakers left quietly. Sheesh! 🙄
We had a wonderful time and always look forward to returning to camp there. They are a great couple.

Thank you for letting people know that we all need to respect each other. I would like to add two more items: 1) Campers need to respect the quiet time as posted in all park rules, and 2, dogs should always be on a leash or fully under the owners control. It’s not ok to allow your dog to go outside unsupervised to relieve itself. Totally disrespectful to allow your dog to urinate on my wheels!

People need to leave their dogs at home if they cannot take care of them on a leash. There should never be off the leash time unless the park has a dog park which has a fenced in part. I know people want their pets with thm but must take care of them. 73

Or on your fresh water hose and under your camper as a recent camping location I was at happened. They had 3 dogs never on a leash that thought my 5R was it's personal bathroom and the people watched as it happened!!! I was furious that I had to put away the hose into the basement after several dogs urinated on it . Needless to say the host didn't do much about it 😡 I was tempted to walk over to there water spigot and ask if it's ok to relieve myself on the hose.

If we are late, we just pull in to our site and set up in the morning.

Always good to be reminded that there are rules and why. It's also good when the rules are enforced. We have a campground near our office that we use often because of the shorter commute to work. We were just there last week for 9 days while working on year end at work. This is a pricy resort so I expect the rules to be enforced, however they are not. It's very frustrating when you pay that much money to stay at a nice resort.
Also, as Odd Squad members, we should go above and beyond what is expected no mater where we are!! Our desire should be to make a difference in a broken world and that starts with us being examples of excellence in everything that we do! And yes I fail often, but it is still my desire.
Keep doing what you are doing, God is using you!!!! ❤❤🙏🙏

We meet in fellowship hall to meet and pray with our fellow campers.
Loved it! We made lots of new friends and the canyon was beautiful. We had to leave early because we live on the east coast of florida and hurricane Ian was on its way. We made it home just in time. Prayed over our properties and road out the storm. GOD protected both of us and our properties. It is a true miracle. The storm flooded many areas around us. The winds were 95mph for hours. But we were spared, even my chickens. Thank you John and Mercedes for this beautiful park and all you do!

Do not assume that just because you have a friendly dog means that everyone else has a friendly dog. I have corgi that will defend his sister to the death. I know that, I make a point to stay clear of other dogs and keep him under control at all times. Do NOT approach me with your dog and do NOT let your dog wander onto my site. If you are coming in after hours, DO NOT expect any help. No other campground attends to you after hours.

First, I just loved watching Sage in the background the whole video having such a wonderful time in nature. She is doing so well, Praise The Father.
Maybe Write these things down that happen in your park. You may wish to put them together in a book one day, Maybe call it, "RV Park Karen's."
John is right about ladies bathrooms. When traveling, they are horrific and I would rather use the men's or as John does, use nature. I have learned to carry a She-Wee with me everywhere, just in case. I mark my territory also where I live now, in the woods....lol. Keeps certain animals away from my garden.
Wise to do background checks since you are a members only. Even then. a bad apple will slip through. Just got to nip them in the bud straight way. Give their membership back and send then on their way for the safety of all the rest. It's just business! One cannot let friendship and business overlap. If you have two that you can completely trust, then you are blessed.
What do you mean no personal tours from the two of you? Don't you guys just sit waiting for someone to ask? (Much sarcasm). I know there are those who feel as if they know you personally from watching your videos because you guys are straight up and open about your lives. These things come along with dealing with the general public. Everyone has their own ideas about things. Just Common respect , but some have no clue what that is.

I'm going to show up with a super loud diesel truck pulling a 50 footer at 3:30 am and then leave my truck running for a couple of hours while I make all sorts of noise pulling chains and metal objects out of the bed of the truck and then yell at the kids while my wife yells out giving directions on backing up the rig. - should be done by daylight. Oh yea, when I blow my train horn - that means I can't see you.

An adult pooping behind a tree is a health & safety violation. Your campground could get shut down for that.
I understand you are a member only campground. That person should be asked to clean it up, asked to leave & have their membership revoked. You are within your rights to do so.
You have a stream on site & water contamination is a real issue.

    Updated:
I just happened to see your channel, and others similar channels recently, and I think that you, and others sharing their actual reality, and some have expressed some of the up, and down sides to van, RV, or vehicle living.
I believe that it is very helpful, and beneficial to others who may be thinking about this type of living without actually thinking through, about the some of the realistic problems that could occur with vehicle or van living etc.
People need to know what up sides there are, as well as some of the down sides of vehicle living.
I believe this channel, and other channels have been informative to others, including myself.
Although, I am NOT living in a vehicle or anything like this.
I feel that you , and others RUclipsrs sharing this with your viewers will be very helpful.
I wish you ALL the Best with your traveling endeavors.
I shared this with another traveler as I watched their RUclips channel for the first time, as yours, and I shared with them this information that may be helpful to you as well to others.
Therefore, I would also like to suggest a few Safety tips, and items that may help you, or others in your viewing audience.
Although, you may have knowledge of this already,
I am not sure, so I hope this will be helpful to you, others or someone.
*Keep a Extra working cellphone with you or in your vehicle.
You can purchase inexpensive phone with a very low monthly price between 25, 35, 45, dollars a month with unlimited data and text, and some have Nationwide coverage
Do your research for the best fit for you
Carry Several Extra portable phone chargers, and cables.
    Consider theses items:
    *Mini portable power charging station.
I have also seen outdoor portable solar powered power stations, that can be recharged from sunlight this may be very useful to have, to power your devices.
*Cellular signal booster for outdoor use, and camping situations to boost or amplify your cell reception,
Research to see what you prefer.
    *Very Inportant:
Invest in a SOS distress electronic signal device, this a kind of device can send out a distress signal with your exact location.
There are various types of these devices, and including devices that can be used when boating or camping situations.
*Some have emergency Strobe lights SOS signaling with location alerts, and location updates that can be sent to your family, and emergency first responders.
Some can be synchronized with your smart watch or phone.
You can check online, and on Amazon, research what SOS devices will be a good fit for you.
*Mini portable vehicle battery jumper charger
    *vehicle battery jumper cables
    *Vehicle Jumper cables
    *Keep a Fire extinguisher handy
*Mounted Dashboard camera front and rear possibly.
    Exterior vehicle cameras
    Interior vehicle cameras
    *Flashlights or pluggin spotlights
    *Portable spotlights, and lanterns
Keep a few whistles around with you, and in your vehicle possibly in your vehicle’s center console
*A set of long range 2 way radios, walkie talkies, with others during trips, some have 100 mile radius keep for emergencies.
Use your own discretion regarding the use of any weapons.
    Don’t forget to bring
    Bear Spray
    Pepper spray
    Where is allowed
Keep in contact with your family, friends etc.
Although, I just noticed your RUclips channel, and other similar channels.
You seem Very Aware of your surroundings and Alert, and you may be aware of many of these suggestions, however, I Don’t know, so I just posted this anyway to help anyone who may benefit from these suggestions.
Keep up with the latest Weather Updates, beware and prepare for unexpected Weather events and conditions.
    Keep your vehicle gas filled
Don’t chance your Safety by running your vehicle fuel or gas too close to Empty.
Fill it up anyway, it will save you alot of time, and headache later on.
Keep Extra financing, and savings for any unexpected issues, vehicle repairs, and overnight stays, in a emergency or if you need to rest indoors.
    Keep Enjoying Yourself,
Keep Enjoying the outdoors, and Nature
    Just..Please continue to
    Be Positive, Safe, and Alert..
Wishing Success, Well-being and Happiness You All.
    God Bless You, and everyone

You 2 are amazing to have gone thru what you've gone through and then come out with this rant and you still seem like nice folks! What you've gone through is definitely a learning experience and now you can put the brakes on for anything that comes up in the future before something dangerous happens. I also think when you do your background checks you should have a questionnaire that you give the future camper that asks how long have you been a RVer, do you know how to set up your trailer, have you gone through any type of training for driving or backing up your RV? I have a very good friend who repairs Airstreams in California and he will go through all of this before you buy your trailer from him because he comes up with some used ones once in awhile. Backing up an RV is a work of art! Everything you do is backwards from what you normally back up your vehicle. Some people just don't get it! I'm glad that you require a membership and I wish I could join but I don't see us ever traveling that far from California to enjoy your little national park. People have gotten crazier in general & those who have bad intentions seem to have increased. If anyone has a problem with that, they should be the first ones to be denied. Stay safe. You are absolutely right Mercedes. As for etiquette, some people get it naturally, some don't, and some doesn't care. You need rules for the 1% who don't get it. The other 99% will approve you because they want to enjoy their stay.
In any group of people, any community, any campground, there must be rules (rules that make sense of course) to ensure that everybody could enjoy the level of freedom they need to be happy in a community. Rules are like putting oil on a squeaky gear. The gear and the machine sound better, it perform better and the gear will last longer. Long life to your campground and thanks for those very inspiring videos.

I've never pulled doubles or triples and they sway if your not paying attention, but to see a regular person pulling 2 or 3 items how in the world does DOT even allow that? There is a bridge weight to be concerned about plus I believe it might be illegal to pull an RV and a boat and another trailer. I've seen this, it's crazy without proper training and licensing.

Get real. You guys sound like your camp ground is so special. I can understand about the poppers, or breaking something and not saying anything. But back ground checks get real. Unbelievable.

Loved the video. You play well off of each other and make topics entertaining & fun to watch.
Sad truth is this is typical .. I didn't understand until it happened to me... This is even more serious when laws are written by those who lack knowledge, information and/or experience on a topic. (Firearm laws immediately comes to mind.)

My 4 year old grandson was hard to potty train but would go outside so my daughter let him pee outside in the yard because they have several acres away from the road. Last week at preschool his teacher asked if he needed to go to the bathroom because it was almost time to leave. He said no thank you. My daughter gets him to the parking lot & he pees on her tires. She told the teacher he likes to "go" outside and that she told him she was going to let the teacher know that she wants him to use the indoor plumbing. I may go outside if because I'm not getting any younger I have an "I can't hold it any longer" moment. The last place I stayed had cats running around everywhere, dogs didn't have to be on leash as long as they were controlled, neighbors were mostly nice, but some of the nastiest restroom and laundry areas I have ever seen! So close I could hear my neighbor cussing out people on the phone when his wifi booster didn't work so he couldn't watch his news on his tablet, which I could also hear most of the time. You have some very valid points and we all need to be considerate. My husband (God rest his soul) was one who sometimes would embarrass me because he wanted special privileges due to having muscular dystrophy. Like even if he wasn't getting out of the car he would park in the only handicapped available space because he had that permit or sometimes he'd park where he thought handicapped space should be and it frustrated me something fierce.
