    What a blast from the past....my very first turntable about 1972 was a Fairchild 412 with a Shure cartridge! All these decades and I see someone else that has one.

    I lapsed on the la scalas. Paul shipped me my pair as a salesman in the 70s. Epic speaker. Drive mine with a nak 620 amp

    I really like it when the elusive musician / audiophile is found. Pedro’s system(s) looks fantastic, and he’s using a Tavish Classic phono stage, which I use also. Love the cartridge collection. That 301 is stunning. What a thing of beauty. Very cool gear and great vid. Thanks, Pedro and Steve!

    Wow what a killer setup. I have the La Scalas and the LRS and consider them both forever keepers. Quads and some nice dynamic boxes and you have it all. I love that speakers on both sides of the room. Awesome.

    Very cool. The Japanese gold-leaf repair technique is 'kintsugi.' It has to do with embracing and accepting age and imperfection. Think wabi-sabi.

    “I am not a dealer”, lol Pedro is the real deal beating a musician, he’s got the ear for music and audio gear.
    I had a chance of buying that vintage Quad at a local St Vincent de Paul when I was in my teens in the late 80s and didn’t know any better. Uuugh!

      Vaulted walls actually.... which is better. Panel speakers don't radiate as much vertically or horizontally to the sides, which gives you more direct sound and less reflections off ceilings.
      A Linn-Naim system owning friend of mine moved to his new house. Vaulted ceilings make his living room sound like an echo chamber. Really nasty.
      I suggested he move his stereo downstairs, since his wife wont tolerate ceiling cloud absorbers.
      Cathedral ceilings belong in cathedrals only!

    Maybe someone has already left a proper comment, but the japanese technique Pedro referred to (repairing cracks with gold) is called “Kintsugi”.

    A man after my own heart -even if your have the 2805's have pair of 57's because they don't do as much but they do there thing uniquely.Even if you just used the min deck,min speakers,etc if you work had and pay the rent why not have a museum of gear?I also like the sound choices (I have large German two way horns but still pull put my LS50's and would love to add some Maggie LRS and when space and budget permits who knows ????Multiple types of amps from my EL34 EAR one day or SET perhaps AB for the same speakers?Different music different tunes different gear.Bravo Pedro

    How are you able to balance and verify the balance of your tube amps. As you know tubes have differces between the same tube and there are trims that allow you to balance them.

    Lets just talk about the room for a minute. I also have my 1.7s in a room with a pitched roof. They sound amazing in there. Only thing. Mine are oriented 90° to Pedro's. I took into account Carnegie hall when placing them.

      I would like to know too - I tried an embedder with my Oppo 103 imto an ARES II DAC and it didn't work.

      I don’t prefer electrostatic speakers, but other people do! So I cover them here on the channel. I cover plannar magnetic speakers too

      It’s a hdmi to I2S converter box. I have a video about it on my channel. They’re around $50 and let you use hdmi connection to run sacd and dsd playback through an outboard dac as long as it has an i2s input.

    I believe some people love electrostats and some do not like Steve personal taste nothing definitive or right or wrong. but when musicians love them that is a strong endorsement. They know what sounds real more than the average joe. So there's that lol. I agree with Steve for hard rock Monkey coffins do better for everything else nothing can touch electrostats period.

    I had the original wharfedale linton speakers in 1973 they were terrible. I traded them for a pair AR6 they were much better .
