    I've just taken delivery of this cordless and I can't believe how much better it is than our older Dyson Cordless. We actually thought our carpets were clean but we've noticed we've been sneezing a lot lately, so we decided to get a Vax One power. It's unbelievably better than the Dyson. My wife felt it was heavy. But here's a tip.....drop your arm, without crooking your elbow and vacuum with your arm hanging loose and straight. It makes a huge difference! We couldn't believe the hair it picked up, which needed to be cut from the brush head after hoovering. Even that was easy, because there is a handy groove to scissor along. Job done. It'e a great cordless for the money!

      @jgsk78 4 года назад +1

      This is why I'm looking at this, I find it natural, and ergonomically just making much more sense to be able to hold this kind of hoover at the top, rather than with bent elbow. But there aren't many hovers made like that.. most of them copy dyson's design to hold the stick at the end, because they have motor at the top where you'd like to grab it, that's just silly.. I'd like to try this one

    We have a VAX Blade 2 max and we have used it in the harshest environment possible - a cinema, to clean up popcorn after family screenings! We've had it years and considering it really is not intended for commercial use it's done very well. Finally the brush head needs replacing and I'l probably get the Blade 4 based on our good experience with current vax. We used a Dyson cordless before and the vax is WAY better, for us at least. The Dyson cordless had a very narrow gap in the brush head for the suction to pass through and used to block virtually immediately, whereas the Vax is much better at dealing with bigger 'objects' (although it can still get blocked with sweet wrappers occasionally).

    We've bought one and its been a great investment. Does everything mentioned in the review. Light and easy to handle. But it's not so versatile for using in the car compared to a hose vacuum.

    Great review, I bought one last week after reading many reviews. Was this or the more than double the price Dyson.
    Opted for this one and i"m not disappointed. I would highly recommend buying a second battery that way one is always charged.

    Here's my slight beef with my (and all blade 2/3/4 cleaners). Yes I understand cuts need to be made to keep the price down. But, the batteries in all blade cleaners use old school 2Ah cells, the current standard in most tools and power equipment is 2.5 or 3Ah cells. The purchase cost to the end user would increase by around 12% to include these upgraded 3Ah cells. This means that they could increase the suction on 'low' mode by 50% and still get the same 45mins or so of life. Or on 'boost' mode the life could increase from 12 minutes, to 18 minutes.
    A massive improvement going begging...

    I am here because Im doing some research of which is the best vaccuum cleaner to buy as I am planning to buy a new Vax vaccuum cleaner. The one I have now is 22 years old from Vax. It's orange and it also a carpet cleaner. It's still great to use but the problem is the body is getting brittle from daily use. It's coming off piece by piece when bumping on hard surfaces.

    The Dust tracker stupidly only works when the spinning brush is on. You need the dust tracker mostly on hardwood floors, so you can see the dust on the floor. The dust tracker should be on with all settings. Flaw in the design.

    I personally don't think cordless vacuums are at the stage that you could do away with a mains powered one just yet. I see cordless vacuums as good for quick whip arounds rather than deep cleaning. I mean, I really like my Dyson V6 for quick whip arounds or cleaning up spils but it's certainly no mains powered replacement.

    The motorised floor head is not fit for purpose, we are on our 3rd head now since buying the machine 5 months ago, it just cannot handle hair... when we first got it we cleaned it after every use, the brush bar became noisy, and the plastic around the drive cog melted, vax sent us a replacement head, the same happened. Hair gets pulled in behind the drive cog and around the bearing, the friction of the hair cause heat and causes the plastuc to melt. Vax sent us another, this time we remove the brush bar clean it and refit it between each room... this made no difference and the same happened again. When it works it cleabs great, but it is just not fit for purpose, deffinately do not buy if anyone has even remotely long hair. Waste of money, completely dissapointed with its longevity.

  • @hermanmunster3358
    @hermanmunster3358 Год назад

    Good in theory, but in practice, the short battery life on boost mode with the motorised head operating is frustrating. You really need at least two battery packs. However, the battery packs are junk. I've had one of these for a little over a year, and one of my battery packs has stopped charging, after just 10 charge cycles or so. And a new battery pack costs about £70. The actual cleaner works great, and does a good job of cleaning. But the junk battery packs are not worth the investment.

  • @lesoo3
    @lesoo3 3 года назад +1

    the suction can be deceiving because the ground clearance makes a difference if the head is close to the floor it will seem to stick to the floor even on low power setting but it will push away the oats what it needs is an adjustable head to allow for bigger rubbish like seeds and oats to go under because if it pushing the oats away then the suction is pointless

    I have had one for the past 5 months. Overall a good machine, not great battery life though. The rubber seal between the motor and the dust collector leaks when turning around, quite load and annoying. The latest thing is the brush stopped spinning and has seized up. There was a small amount of hair around it but not excessive. I like most things about the Blade4 but this is too much. It may be time to change makes (I also have 2 Vax uprights that are always breaking down for different reasons).

It was 18 months old when we got rid and in that time it had a new battery, new cyclone unit, new brush head and new seals, all under warranty. When it broke down and flashed a battery error code again, it was time to go!

    Is the battery large for an 18V 4Ah lithium is that 5 cells? That's about 72Whr capacity. Can't we do better these days?
    If the charger were higher power, the charge time could be cut significantly. Shame they don't include a second battery and have an intermediate speed (20-25 mins?)
    It makes sense if you clean regularly, if you don't, then it might not have enough longevity for those 'once a month attacks on the dirt'.

    I think the one VAC 4, I`ve bought has a great suction, BUT by the 3rd day of using it, the roller stopped spinning ? ok It picked up the Wife`s hair from the pile of the carpet, ok, I took the roller out and cut along the grooves to clear , BUT it still didn`t go round, ?? RED Light comes on at the front, The end of the roller where it goes onto the point ( belt side ) had Jammed, the hair had bird nested behind the end cap , to get to it is a Nightmare, after taking all the screws out, then taking the belt off , I found The screw on the inside was rounded off and had to use a Tool Gripper to hold the wheel and jam another tool inside to stop outside and the inside going round together, this of course stops the roller from going around, I couldn`t get to clean it out after all that, BUT freed the movement of the wheel > Just ?? I thought blow this for a lark and put it all together again > It works, but now makes a racket when on, > on a personal View of this VAC 4 , It`s a major Flaw that should be looked at ??? > Try taking it back to the Shop > They Haven`t a Clue ???

    The floor head is rubbish on this because it is the same almost to the blade 1. The bearings last about 6 months and although they send a new one, it happened 5 times and when you are out of warranty, they are £40 on a 6th month warranty. No electrical products come with 6 months warranty. One year is pretty much the industry standard so why 6 months? They know they are rubbish. There you go.

    Ergonomically the worst cleaner I have ever handled. You need strong wrist and hand due to the weight. Completely unsuited for stair or car cleaning . Removal of the dust container usually involves dust getting on your clothes. The upholstery brush is difficult to control and the crevice? tool is too big a diameter for the sides of the upholstered furniture. The only plus point is the excellent cleaning result on floor carpet.
