The light you find, along with your composition, can determine how good your landscape image will be.
There's a range of different types of light you can find in a natural landscape.
In this landscape photography tutorial, we cover the characteristics of the light you'll find in the natural landscape, like Direct light, Diffuse light, and Reflected light, to work out the best type of light for landscape photography.
Direct light is stronger than other light types, and as it's coming from a single point, its direction has a significant impact on the scene.
When the sun is close to the horizon, it's more of the earth's atmosphere that's softening or diffusing the light.
The reflected light occurs when light bounces off the surface of an object, and reflected light illuminates parts of the scene in the frame.
We'll also cover some landscape photography tips to improve our use of light for landscape images

Great engagement with light in this one. For those who are starting out, trying to make sense of light and its qualities, this video will be a good add to their learning and understanding. I'm always intrigued and helped by conversations around light too. Thanks for this one hey.

Thanks for the overview Andrew. One type of light (if this qualifies) I'd like to do more of is blue hour. I've seen some great images during this kind of light. Have you used this time much or would you consider it part of golden hour? Just curious. Thanks and see you online!
