Hai! This video is a day late bc we really underestimated how long it'd take to render it, a lot of work went into figuring out the presentation. I do wanna clarify that for future videos in this series we will make sure to switch it up a lot between different SNAP themes so that literally the same song isn't playing for 1 hour and 30 minutes LOL This should have been avoided but the idea to add some music was very last moment and we were kinda rushed to get it done. Just letting y'all know that I'M AWARE OF THIS 🤣 Hope you enjoyed the vid!
Well I am for real happy to see that, no sarcasm xd. I watch Rarran's and CovertGoBlue's videos of this kind. I have not watched Mogwai in a while, but I like this guy. That's all ;)
Jeff! is best explained like this: 1. Normally, to win a location you only need to have 1 more power than your opponent at that location. 2. If your opponent has a Jeff! somewhere else, you now need to be ahead by 4 or more power to win a location.
The reason why Jeff can go wherever he likes is because in the comics he just appears at random places no-one is bothered by him and everyone likes him so he is never kicked out. Also he is a land shark, that's why he can be out of water
These are my two favorite card game content creators in one place! I started with CGB during quarantine, found Merchant through him, through Merchant found LoR, and then found Mogwai there. Later found out Mogwai started with magic and ultimately I feel like everything has come full circle. This is top tier content.❤
Jeff is a fairly new (late 2010s) marvel character and he was a part of genetically modified sharks to be amphious killing machines by eating anything but was adopted by Gwen pool in fact he has dwarfism among his kind and is more intelligence equal to that of a small child. The effect is a reference to him going anywhere he wants because he is not really anyone's pet. He is commonly seen with alligator Loki and frog Thor Now knowledge in Yu-Gi-Oh is different that in magic because knowing what your opponent has and playing around it makes cards dead but in marvel snap however you already have an idea of what could be played within the 3 turns unless something odd happens Another reason why kang is bad is that the information could be completely useless because you can't do anything with that information or you already know more or less what could be played
CGB went in blind without even some basic briefing ( locations revealing one after the other, archetypes like move, snapping etc) and still did really well, just omegabrain, the one!
I really think you should show the basic stats for each cost (misty knight, shocker, cyclops, the thing, abomination and hulk) so the guest can have an idea of what is the common power for each cost
I think that if CGB wanted to ask if the stats were a good rate, he would have. And answering that would have been very valid. Also, CGB did see Dakken (3/4) which was said to be a standard rate, and he saw Nova (1/2). CGB could have done some math by the time that Warlock came up.
@@jeremiahbell6129 I respect your opinion. Mine is that him getting confused abt warlock could be prevented with a basic idea of the vanilla cards. But again, just my suggestion
51:19 Jeff is GwenPoole’s pet land shark and I’m fairly certain the reason he’s “unstoppable” is because like with her he’s become an instantly incredibly popular character for no reason other than neat cute funny concept. So it’s more that no one wants to stop him from going places, and also he’s semiaquatic. That’s my guess at least
Dude, it’s such a good phrase tho. Disneyland is known for being curated at all times to give guests the best experience. They literally control the SMELLS you are smelling by having covert scent dispensers. Disneyland does not want you to experience anything less than perfect ever. First time watching your content, coming from other channels that also recently did these cross-cardgame analysis. Love the editing and layout, and one criticism I'd pitch in (though you quickly caught onto it yourself, so this is more of a reminder) is that the order you show these cards are important. Give them examples of powerful destroy cards and a bad discard card before showing Daken, etc. In a way, you're avoiding the situation of guest not knowing how to properly gauge a card without context, by giving them context from previous cards. You actually did this (kinda) by telling him about Killmonger before showing Nova. I'll happily eat up your excuse, and props for catching yourself on the act of doing CGB dirty lol. I get the part that it's your favorite card and if nothing else, CGB is the best guy to get "done" in. Playing bo1 in a game where you have to draw lands requires some mental fortitude
Assuming you’re gonna keep making more of these (please do) definitely take the advice from the comments of explaining the mechanics to total new players in more detail, especially around locations. If CGB comes back for another round be sure he knows about how locations reveal too.
In case anyone is wondering: MODOK created Jeff’s race of land sharks to attack the people of LA, but Jeff was a faulty creation, leaving him stuck as a baby land shark, and not a very effective evil monster. Gwen pool decided to adopt him because he was cute, and later gave him to Deadpool because she thought her series was going to be canceled
Snap is such a unique card game, I really wish you couldve showed CGB a turn or two and/or maybe the final turn resolution so he gould grasp the idea of the game a little better. Him talking about combat and removal cards is really telling that he has no idea how these cards are actually played and why.
giving away too much too early is a good way of making it too easy for a seasoned card game player to guess mechanics and the value of them, he quickly caught on that there were only creature cards so this is literally only a problem if u stopped watching after the first half hour, i would much rather have 3 more videos of cgbs evaluations than just him seeing the mindgame aspect of the final turn and being able to accurately rate cards p well from there on out, u r asking for something that kind of messes with the appeal of these videos which is someone going in blind and understanding the ways a card game is unique by asking good questions and getting cards wrong in ways that reveal things about the game
This was surprisingly entertaining, considering I stopped playing Snap months ago. Almost makes me want to play again but I cba with the manipulative, convoluted, stagnant card requisition bs. Good video though. Good chemistry between you guys. 👍
CGB is here! I couldnt be happier. The video is great and aside from the music which you mentioned in the pinned comment there were some occasional blurry effects for some reason which really bothered my eyes and didnt make much sense in my opinion. Cant wait for more of these type of videos!
Omg Mog is evil. Can't wait for him to hit CGB with Deadpool in the next episode to double up on the Daken-Nova dilemma. For future guests, I think it'd help if you showed them a picture of a board with some cards placed too, so they can better visualize it. Also using the word "bet" when explaining the cube system helps a lot imo. You did occasionally go off into tangents here a bit which isn't necessarily bad but can be a tad confusing for the guest or viewers that don't play the game.
i love these kinds of videos. since the guests inherently learn the mechanics as the game progresses, one thought would be a bonus card at the end that is just truly wacky such as thanos, high evolutionary, arishem etc. to see if they can put all the pieces together. great video mog keep up the hard work!
Mog, I love those kinda of videos and yours was one of my favorites by far The only thing I would say is to lower the background volume, I think it was a bit distracting for my easily overestimulated ass Love your bangers!

To be fair, Jeff can go to a "full" Space Throne location lol Also, he's kinda like a dog in a shark body, personality-wise, which I'd say is a big part of why people love him.
Hey Mog, I've been eating up all these card collab videos for a while now so I'll give some feedback as well! I think maybe because you're so excited to explain, or maybe because it's your first time, but I think you're overexplaining the actual cards and archetypes themselves. What I find most interesting videos is seeing the guest who has no experience having to find the questions themselves (for Nova and Daken, for example, giving him the chance to ask about what "cards getting +2 " meant is good, but I think it's more fun to see the guest figuring out how good exactly getting +2 per card on the board is, instead of you just explaining what the max payoff was, and telling him exactly what some of the common destruction cards are. I think explaining the rules of the actual game really clearly and in depth (like deck size, how the turns work, how many cards per location etc.) and letting the guest ask questions about the cards to see their thought process is the most interesting to me, but maybe you or others disagree. Either way, enjoyed watching :D
I find it interesting that mogwai says "mura-shama" shard when it clearly says "mura-masa" shard. Perhaps a bit of dyslexia on his part, or maybe an inside joke I missed
great video was waiting for you to make stuff with other content creators to boost the stats! hope you keep growing you deserve it more than most btw next time you do this I think you should make some notes about how to explain the game so you'll make sure not to miss anything like priority, card draws (for example saying you start with 3 cards then draw 1 each turn for a total of 9 cards out of 12 per game), snap mechanic, locations etc... it will make it easier for you to explain
Great format mister. It was really entertaining to watch. Didn't even notice the same song playing all the time😂. I'm exited to see more stuff like this.
Mogwai is a great character to join the cast, I didn't click initially because I knew nothing about Snap being a magic player and know about the other games through osmosis but this was great and I'll be back next time Oh great, there's already another one!
As a non magic player who now watches cgb because of rarran and friends card ratings videos I’m so glad a snap player is getting in on it as well and I’ll be following for more!
I’m really excited to see CGB here and the look on his face when you start talking about other cards in the meta and he pulls out his notebook is priceless 😂👌
Found it! I was following this type of content for over a year now and was wondering when snap was going to get it's turn .. Now we just need Rarran and CGB to organize a content creator TCG decathlon, where everyone plays everyone else in every game... It'd be a cool series
About Daken, there are same deck can make Daken 16 power or more, like turn 2: invisible woman, turn 3: put Daken in a location other than invisible woman location, Turn 4: you can killmonger+muramasa, turn 5: modok in invisibible woman location, turn 6: Arnim zola to daken.
I am absolutely loving how all the TCG content creators have just become friends by playing "Rate our Cards", and subsequently brought the communities together in some ways.
Loved your LOR and Snap content. Not a big MTG fan so it’s awesome to see you entering into your era of exploring different games and trying out new content. It would be really cool to see you try out new card games that you haven’t played before, maybe like a “I played this game for one week” and give your review or first impressions of the game. Like Yugioh Duel Links etc.
Ohohoho finally a Marvel Snap Player has joined the Rarren card evaluation group XD, i hope to see you invite all of them to over here and see you appear on the other channels.
KM Best has done these videos every now and then over the past year. There's over a dozen of them. No playlist though, so just search the word "rates" on his channel. MegaMogwai here was actually on one of those videos when he returned to Snap after like 3 months, which covered cards released in that period.

One of the worst mechanics you can put in ANY game, because it's NEVER fun is "Lose a Turn". You want to play a game, being told "not this turn" is awful. That original version of leader is functionally "4 power, your opponent skips their turn AND loses the cards they played" Yes, there's on reveal effects and stuff so it's not 100% 1:1 but that is basically what you're doing.
Great video. You guys are really fun to watch. That said - Watching Marvel Snap as a Magic player is like a kid explaining you how to play with his painted rocks.
I always wondered if all those card game channals would be good in analyzing competetive Pokemon. A colab between one of them and somebody like Wolfey would be so cool
As an erstwhile Snap player and longtime MTG player, this was fun to watch! It's nice to see CGB take a crack at a card game that works so wildly different than MTG.
I really like this kind of video, profesionals from another thing, trying to transfer their knowledge to a similar thing. CSGO globals playing valorant, or in this case, magic players guessing in snap. its great
I don't know what Jeff is from in the greater Marvel universe, I've only seen him glimpses of him in Snap and Rivals, but I DO have eyes, and I can see that he can walk and breathe on land just fine. As for the effect: he's a troublesome puppy. He doesn't listen to anyone, he goes wherever he wants and causes a small amount of havoc.
First time viewer to your channel! Loved the content! One thing, you forgot to mention hand size. And (I know others will comment too) Jeff is gwenpool’s pet. Also Deadpool’s a year ago or so when he was king of monster island. So he’s a baby monster.
this was a great video. i'm surprised you didn't use your mtg knowledge to give cgb better comparisons. for example, when you explained 'cube rate,' i think a cgb would have understood 'pips' in between each rank in arena's ladder. the gambling aspect comes into play because in snap, you can fall forever, but in arena, you can't fall below your current rank.
Kang is like seeing your opponent's line up and formation in basketball, calling a timeout. Talking about it, drawing up a play then sending your team back out onto the court.
Really awesome colab! One sugestion when doing this with players that know nothing avout the game is to show some vanilla cards so they can compare and understand whats expected from cards
Banger video! I think starting with such a hard one actually helped CGB set the stage of the game and future cards. Let him understand more of how the game works.
Jeff the baby land shark has a WONDERFUL origin story. Basically the new West coast avengers we're fighting grown landsharks and after the fight Gwenpool just has a baby one and tells everybody his name is Jeff and he's now apart of the team. Jeff ability comes from the fact that he's like a stubborn puppy. If he wants uppies, he gets it. If he wants to be pet, he gets pat. Nobody can say no to him bc he's so cute and awesome. So hence the "nothing can stop him..." Text. People tell him no and he still gets what he wants 😂 #TeamJeff
As somebody who has never played this game before, Kang seems like it could have been or could still be interesting with a change. If it always replaced itself, it would be interesting like… if you top deck Kang on the turn you play him, it’s like you’re playing an 11 card deck. If it always replaced itself, it would probably be decent or maybe even too strong. But it just kinda… sucks if you draw it before turn 5. And sure you can bluff with Kang but like… yeah like you said- a good player is probably going to call your bluff and they won’t simply just leave once you initiate a snap.

Big fan of this type of video. I don't know anything about Marvel Snap but I've been playing Magic for years so I'm interested to learn something.
I find it interesting that mogwai says "mura-shama" shard when it clearly says "mura-masa" shard. Perhaps a bit of dyslexia on his part, or maybe an inside joke I missed
great video was waiting for you to make stuff with other content creators to boost the stats!
hope you keep growing you deserve it more than most
btw next time you do this I think you should make some notes about how to explain the game so you'll make sure not to miss anything like priority, card draws (for example saying you start with 3 cards then draw 1 each turn for a total of 9 cards out of 12 per game), snap mechanic, locations etc...
it will make it easier for you to explain
Great format mister. It was really entertaining to watch. Didn't even notice the same song playing all the time😂. I'm exited to see more stuff like this.
Haven't watched the video yet but I already know CGB and Mogwai are a match made in heaven
Mogwai is a great character to join the cast, I didn't click initially because I knew nothing about Snap being a magic player and know about the other games through osmosis but this was great and I'll be back next time
Oh great, there's already another one!
Cannonball is gluten free bread.
23:25 - 23:44 covert's reaction to the description of proxima midnight was GOLDEN
Mogwai has joined the CGB timeline!
I LOVE that CGB writes all these notes when hes explaining things, hes such a try hard but its also so cute

I don't just talk about this kind of Video Series, i know KM Best has done this with some people before, i talk about a really specific group of people doing this series right now in the past few months.
I really like KM Best and i watch his meta Reports and Card Evaluation Videos from time to time. I̶ o̶n̶l̶y̶ e̶v̶e̶r̶ s̶a̶w̶ o̶n̶e̶ o̶f̶ h̶i̶s̶ "r̶a̶t̶e̶s̶ v̶i̶d̶e̶o̶s̶" a̶n̶d̶ i̶ s̶t̶r̶o̶n̶g̶l̶y̶ r̶e̶m̶e̶m̶b̶e̶r̶ t̶h̶a̶t̶ t̶h̶a̶t̶ s̶p̶e̶c̶i̶f̶i̶c̶ V̶i̶d̶e̶o̶ w̶a̶s̶ r̶e̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ n̶o̶t̶ e̶n̶j̶o̶y̶a̶b̶l̶e̶ t̶o̶ w̶a̶t̶c̶h̶ f̶o̶r̶ s̶o̶m̶e̶ r̶e̶a̶s̶o̶n̶. Unsure what it was i might look one of his rates Videos Up again, just to be sure now that you mentioned it to me again.
What i am really excited is that CovertGoBlue being here means that MegaMogwai is going to collab with a really specific group of people that i find really good in doing this Videos series. For example Cimo a really entertaining Yu-Gi-Oh! contet creator or Rarren a really funny Heathstone content creator.
Here from the dojo. Love these collaborations CGB is doing. I might have to start playing Snap again.
That said - Watching Marvel Snap as a Magic player is like a kid explaining you how to play with his painted rocks.
an ad appeared before you announced the first card and all i heard was "the first card is a card"
Last night i was thinking that Mogwai would be great for this kind of content. Hoping for more collabs!
Speaking as a CGB viewer, I am not used to Mogwai staring directly into my soul.
LOVE Mogwai's reactions when CGB analyses a card. He seems so satisfied like "This guy gets it. Do you hear that backseaters?"
I’m instantly subscribing to every channel that does these crossover videos.
Last time I was this early Mog was still playing Pokemon Showdown
I always wondered if all those card game channals would be good in analyzing competetive Pokemon.
A colab between one of them and somebody like Wolfey would be so cool
As an erstwhile Snap player and longtime MTG player, this was fun to watch! It's nice to see CGB take a crack at a card game that works so wildly different than MTG.
I really like this kind of video, profesionals from another thing, trying to transfer their knowledge to a similar thing. CSGO globals playing valorant, or in this case, magic players guessing in snap. its great
Very entertaining. Two of my favorite post-work video makers.
Also you should show/tell the vanilla stats like shocker and cyclops
I don't even like Marvel Snap and i'm still watching this whole video
Great video, being following CovertGoBlue since thunder junction in mtg arena and you since a long time ago, great to see you guys collaborating
this was a great video.
i'm surprised you didn't use your mtg knowledge to give cgb better comparisons.
for example, when you explained 'cube rate,' i think a cgb would have understood 'pips' in between each rank in arena's ladder. the gambling aspect comes into play because in snap, you can fall forever, but in arena, you can't fall below your current rank.
Kang is like seeing your opponent's line up and formation in basketball, calling a timeout. Talking about it, drawing up a play then sending your team back out onto the court.
41minutes into the video and he just explained what a snap actually is :'D
Love these kind of collabs. The card gamer multiverse reacting to each other’s game is always really entertaining.
CGB is one of my favorite MTG content creators! I already like this new series, Mogwai!!
Nice! I’ve been waiting for a Snap creator to tap CGB for one of these for a while!
Omg Daken has to be the worst possible first marvel snap card to see 😂😭 love it but the chaos
I havent watched MegaMogwai in forever (praise the pig god). Glad to see him interacting with other MTG personalities.
This was a fun video! Knowing nothing about snap previous to this made it pretty fun to guess along with CGB.
People tell him no and he still gets what he wants 😂
#TeamJeff
Mog constantly bringing up how Cannonball was dismissed at release but doesn’t mention that it was an Alioth meta lol
Also Zabu wasn't nerfed yet so Shang-Chi was effectively a 3 drop at the time.
51:14 well jeff is an ground shark, he can swim trough the floor
This was really well done and very fun! Would love to see more
If I'm not mistaken Jeff is a shark of Gwenpool
As somebody who has never played this game before, Kang seems like it could have been or could still be interesting with a change.
If it always replaced itself, it would be interesting like… if you top deck Kang on the turn you play him, it’s like you’re playing an 11 card deck. If it always replaced itself, it would probably be decent or maybe even too strong.
But it just kinda… sucks if you draw it before turn 5.
And sure you can bluff with Kang but like… yeah like you said- a good player is probably going to call your bluff and they won’t simply just leave once you initiate a snap.
