A lot of cartoons are animated by companies in Korea due to it being cheaper than paying animators here. Also they usually go uncredited aside from the name of the studio they work for. In fact, the final episode of another Disney show called Amphibia just aired, and it was a big deal because all the individual animators from the animation company in Korea got credited in the credits, which hasn't happened in a while.

YES. The Owl House is gonna go on hiatus pretty soon and fans are just gonna be SUFFERING the next couple months. So i'm really glad more and more people are starting to react to this show! Also please don't drop it. Most of the better episodes of The Owl House are all in season 2 imo, so yeah
Yea I feel like people reacting will keep me entertained long enough plus keep me reminded. So I’m happy

@@shootingstarmolly I wouldn't call them bad episodes, more like least interesting tidbits that's just there to be funny and doesn't advance the plot (filler episodes I guess, but they had their fair share of interesting parts when the show isn't bombarding you with jokes). Amphibia suffered from this a lot, it had trouble balancing serious moments that advance the plot to silly humour that you can skip an episode and not miss anything, the owl house balances the two quite well

Definitely agree that TOH has a great balance of humorous- and serious moments
When I think an episode is bad, it's when I find no enjoyment from it whatsoever
And I've enjoyed every single episode in this series, whether it's silly or not
I've always found the topic of filler episodes to be interesting, for me it's not just about the plot's progression
If the main characters are developed or new characters are introduced, then I wouldn't necessarily call it filler
For anime it's easier to determine, since then we would be talking about it staying true to the source material
Some would say that *Really Small Problems* is filler, but I beg to differ
I love seeing characters interact and do stuff together, seeing Luz neglecting King really hit home
And having all four of them sharing the best friend necklace at the end was very sweet
It might have nothing to do with the overarching story, but it doesn't always have to for it to be enjoyable
@@shootingstarmolly I also noticed that even "filler episodes" have spectacular smooth animation in fight scenes (Lilith vs eda at the covention, warden wrath tentacles in episode 1, Amity and Luz dance scene) which are movie quality. I also noticed as the show progresses the "camera" zooms in a characters face to show more of their smooth animation expression (episode 1 eda's face animation in earlier episodes were flash animated quality and expressionless at times)
If you guys want recommendations, totally do Amphibia after you're finished with The Owl House. Both the Owl House and Amphibia are made by a lot of the same people that made Gravity Falls, and it's just as good in it's own way.
Seconded! Amphibia is absolutely wonderful.
It is comedically good and it story gets good in the later seasons
And "Kipo" after that.
Hooty's voice was actually Alex Hirsch's weird impression of Mickey Mouse that Dana loved so much that they went with it.
That one chatter is wrong, there is a cipher. It's hidden somewhere in the episode and is written in a made up language that you have to learn. The cipher from each episode comes together to form a poem. Also the first letter of each episode has a secret message.
Since you guys will be finishing Gravity Falls soon, it would be a good idea to replace it with Amphibia which just had its series finale. The three of them are basically sister shows as the creator of Amphibia is the main director of Gravity Falls, while the creator of The Owl House was a storyboard artist

I absolutely ADORE The Owl House! I especially love how within the first two episodes, it established that this wasn't the standard Isekai. Luz is not a beneficiary, nor a victim of Divine Circumstance.
Any specialness she has, it's because she's Luz. That kind of message is gonna be a running theme in the series, so watch for it. It'll start hitting hard as the show ramps up.
So there’s actually two different hidden messages. One is in the first letter of each episode title, so for these two episodes you get A W. Then hidden in a scene in each episode is a coded word. I can’t remember if some fans early on found the cipher or if they figured it out on their own, but I can tell you that episode 1’s word is “Two,” and episode 2’s word is “witches.”

There's a popular theory that Gravity Falls, Owl House and Amphibia all take place in the same universe.

i think quite a few american animated shows send their animation to korean studios for the final cleanup stuff because outsourcing it is cheaper or something. i know gravity falls did that and the simpsons (at least for the movie) also did
There actually is a cipher, I have no idea how it's written. If you combine the first letter from the title of each episode, it spells a secret message, and through every episode there are this codes on the background that can be translated into secret messages. If am not mistaken, season 1 has 3 secret messages
It’s not really a cipher than it is a message that acts as foreshadowing. It’s what I dub the Kirby method where the first letter in every world spells out something.

dana terrace, the creator and executive producer of this show, was actually a storyboarder on gravity falls! and alex hirsch, the creator of gravity falls, is a voice actor on the owl house as well! he voices king and hooty

Personally I find it interesting that out of his roles which include an obstinate geriat, baby Jesus, a death dorito and whatever the fuck Soos is supposed to be… it’s the fucking owl furby that’s scariest of all.

So apparently the scenes with luz doing the eyelid thing, spider thing and play stuff was out of order, and the eyelid stuff was the first thing she did.
I'm so proud of the Gravity Falls fan community for having great taste in cartoons haha it's the best!
1st of all, u just earned urself a new subscriber. 2nd of all, there is a heck of an overarching story in the owl house. I'd say it's present in every episode in 1 way or the other. Sometimes it's subtle and in the background and sometimes it's the focus of the episode. Some fans don't really like the 1st 2 episodes compared to the others, but I love them. The themes introduced in them r essential for the rest of the story. And 3rd of all, the r secret messages and cyphers in the show, but not in the end of an ep. So keep ur eyes open.
It's only been over a year when I'm making this comment, but I just love going back and watch these guys watch my favorite show of all time. The Owl House 💜 (Also top 3 reaction series on this channel for me.)
The Owl House is SO good, I can't wait to see more reactions! Once you finish this show and are looking for something else, I recommend watching Amphibia. As a fan of both Gravity Falls and The Owl House, I think you'll love this show. It starts off comedic and eventually reveals a fantastic metaplot (while keeping the comedy)

This show connects to both Gravity Falls and Amphibia.. They share the same human world. You'll be seeing a lot of references to both series. In fact, there's a theory that's been pretty much proven that Eda is Grunkle Stans' ex-wife.

Oh this iis one of my favorite shows.
It's a gem and Season 2 has been one of the best cartoon seasons of all time. Season 1 has its rough parts (especially with the show trying to estbailish its own content and tone in opposition with Disney mandates) but when it gets own (the final 5 peisodes), it's great. But even before that, you will see great moments here and there.
Theres actually two coded throughout the series. Theres cyphers hidden in each episode, one per shot AND the first letter of each episode makes a line

there is a hidden code the first letter of every ep title, forms sentences and there is a hidden word in every Ep you can find that will say something when all put together. and the hidden words are actually in a made-up language that had to be decoded first.

I finished watching The finale of season 2 yesterday and I’ll be entertained by watching more people react to the owl house while I wait for the hiatus to end. Anyways, don’t drop this show.
