Thank you, Seun, for tonight's program. It is commendable that you invited Mr. Olunide Ojo, Minister of Interuir who surely come accross certified leadership coach and minister of words in many ways. Kudos to him; he stands out as a performing minister in the government. The pressing issue today is the government's desperate attempt to suppress the people's right to protest by painting it as a significant threat. This narrative is untrue. For example, during the protests in London on the day Israel launched an attack on Palestine, the police fulfilled their duty by ensuring security and maintaining peace. If the IGP and DSS have intelligence that foreign mercenaries plan to hijack the protest, they should act by arresting these individuals. Instead, the government and its agencies are creating negative publicity for the planned August 1st protest, using various rhetoric to stop it. Mr. Ojo mentioned that the president was bold in removing the petroleum subsidy on his 1st day in office, suggesting there was a plan in place. However, this move lacks true boldness and appears more like a boomerang effect. The president, who protested against the same subsidy removal in 2012 under the Save Nigeria Group, now faces commendation because he is in office. The government asks for more time for policies to take effect, but when the president made his decision, what were his expectations? Despite claims of a successful template from Lagos, nothing seems to be working. We often cite the painful gestation periods of countries like Singapore, Malaysia, India, and China as examples. However, the real game-changer is policy implementation coupled with tackling corruption. Good policies alone will not bring change without effective anti-corruption measures. Corruption remains Nigeria's biggest problem, and the president has not outlined how he plans to combat it. Countries like China succeeded because they eradicated corruption. Furthermore, products meant for distribution are being sold illegally. We hear that senators received 120 tons of grain to distribute to their constituencies, yet there is no accountability. What is happening with the suspended minister accused of embezzlement? Nothing. While we celebrate local government autonomy, the solution lies in accountability for the funds received, not just direct disbursement to local government chairmen. Mismanagement must be exposed and not tolerated. The NNPC Ltd, governmemyt acciubtant-general office, Power and many other government agencies need urgent reform and audited (Probe) as a matter of urgency for a healthy start. Without such clarity and accountability, no matter the policies, the government will not progress.

You misquoted him, he said Tinubu made a statement on subsidy on his swearing base on the fact that no provision were made by Buhari for subsidy in 2023 budget.
@olatundebakare5400 I'm not disputing the fact that they've stated it before; no leader should make decisions without carefully considering their impact on the people they are meant to lead. I reiterate, proper handover measures should have been put in place. The announcement was ill-timed and poorly thought out, especially considering they opposed the same subsidy cancellation in 2012. The claim of 'no provision' is just an excuse to cover up the mistake. They should have presented the budget for transparency. If the subsidy wasn't provided for in the 2023 budget but was still executed, it constitutes an illegality by the APC-led government under President Buhari. How is that possible? President Tinubu should stop the rhetoric and stop trying to excuse himself from his responsibilities as president. He shouldn't forget that he said, 'Don't pity me; I asked for the job.' 'Emi lo kan' (it's my turn) is no longer relevant.

the pretense is just too much, you removed fuel subsidies and then used the proceeds to buy Yatch, we have refineries that cannot refine fuel and yet you are mute about it, just because your cabals are in charge of importing fuel.
Thanks minister. The government should be given time. But the cost of governance has to be tackled. Securing the country to enable farmers to produce and feed the country.
Seun, You got it wrong. Right to speak in support or against a government is different from staging a protest. Please go back to School to get more understanding.
The problem is that the leaders are asking Nigerians to sacrifice, endure hunger and suffering but they are not showing example of what they are telling the people to do. They are living a luxurious lifestyle and the people are seeing them. How can you convince them to endure and sacrifice whereas you are not enduring and sacrificing anything.
Seun you did asked the right questions. The minister has taken 3 square meal as recommended by WHO. me i just drank garri. He should wait for me on the 1st of August August
We have a government who does not even understand or feel the pains of the people. They live fat but the people can hardly feed and we are been told to be patient. They should all know that all they are stealing and the evil they are doing will not be forgotten or go unpunished. God will deal with them and make a public show of them 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Seun dont ask too much questions. Am one of Nigerian youths fully in support of d protest because i cant continue to ply ordinary bike for 500 naira in osun state nd buying a tuber of yam for 4500 naira...
Honourable Ojo, No matter what! In spite of whatever master plan The government might have projected! That's not a justification to starve people's of the country to death. You can build as many structures in Nigeria but if there's no food for citizenry in the country it is a total lack of economic empathy. It is unfair!
Sheun, you had a great engagement with the Minister but he evaded the question of why government officials are living large when the citizens in great pain are being told to sacrifice more and be patient. This is particularly true of our legislators at the national level- fat salaries, exotic cars and opulent lifestyle. Why no leadership by example?
“We refuse to be what you wanted us to be! We have been taken for granted for much too long! Tell the children the truth.” End bad government in Nigeria now! See them running helter-skelter looking for quick fixes, but it is too late! It is not a protest, it is a Revolution! Hear it! believe it!
The president has only four years, and one year has already passed. It is crucial for him to address the citizens directly and acknowledge the challenges they are facing, such as the current hunger crisis. He should communicate an understanding of their struggles and explain what has been done and what is currently being done to alleviate these issues. Additionally, attempting to deter citizens from protesting through threats may not be effective. Open communication and transparency are essential to building trust and demonstrating a commitment to improving the situation. A word is enough for the wise.

LET THE YOUTHS PROTEST TO THE FARMS TOO, AND RECORD AT LEAST ONE MILLION HECTARES OF VARIETIES OF FOOD.
The Problem is apparent!! Nigeria Politicians have looted the treasury!! now making a lot of youths Criminals!!😭😭
the pretense is just too much, you removed fuel subsidies and then used the proceeds to buy Yatch, we have refineries that cannot refine fuel and yet you are mute about it, just because your cabals are in charge of importing fuel.
I just wasted my data listening to this minsiter . Nonesense !
Ojo, you are just preaching. This will not stop the hunger
Thanks minister. The government should be given time. But the cost of governance has to be tackled. Securing the country to enable farmers to produce and feed the country.
Please what is this interior Minister saying,he doesn't even understand the exterior,we are not talking about Singapore here,we are not the same 😂😂😂😂
Seun, You got it wrong. Right to speak in support or against a government is different from staging a protest. Please go back to School to get more understanding.
Thank you Interior Minister for laying it all bear
Thank you, Minister...
If not this planned protest, could the interior Minister sweat this way to explain things?
This interview was more critical than that of his appointment as a minister
Seun you did asked the right questions. The minister has taken 3 square meal as recommended by WHO. me i just drank garri. He should wait for me on the 1st of August August
What is the updated news about this minister and Betta Edu
We have a government who does not even understand or feel the pains of the people. They live fat but the people can hardly feed and we are been told to be patient. They should all know that all they are stealing and the evil they are doing will not be forgotten or go unpunished. God will deal with them and make a public show of them 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
You can’t build a nation without bringing all the corrupt officials who have subjected Nigeria to its present state.
Seun dont ask too much questions. Am one of Nigerian youths fully in support of d protest because i cant continue to ply ordinary bike for 500 naira in osun state nd buying a tuber of yam for 4500 naira...
Honourable Ojo,
No matter what!
In spite of whatever master plan
The government might have projected! That's not a justification to starve people's of the country to death. You can build as many structures in Nigeria but if there's no food for citizenry in the country it is a total lack of economic empathy.
It is unfair!
What kind of question is that . How much do you have in an account ? Is this qn exco meeting ?😅
The whole Nigerian Army - Less than 300,000 (
Thanks for the figures 👍🏾
Thanks 🙏 u Seun Okinbaloye for the beautiful questions u are asking ur guest about the situation of hunger and inflation in our community and country let them reverse some of their decisions sometimes truth is bitter conscience is an open wound only truth can heal it 😂😂😂😂😂
How can a nation like Nigeria want to enbanck on a nation protest and no one is coming out to say i or we are the leader of such protest ? Honestly if I'm in government i will not allow it to take place 🤫🤫🤫
Lovely update
Fight corruption with all BOLDNESS before anything else.
My goodness, what section of the constitution is gov. Oti quoting from.
🤷♀️
Why building a family blending plant in Malta when local refineries are held dead continuously? Explain this Minister Ojo, please.
Jonathan wanted to do it but tinubu protested against him, but this same tinubu had removed it, what a pity God will judge us all.
Thanks Seun...dollar is 1584naira and Tinubu campaigned against the previous Presidency....dollar ti di 700naira was Tinubu's song with his igbale esu. Interior Minister, we need to start on you...account wetin you dey do for that Abuja. Awon fortunate agbe making millions of naira & their side rats helping to wire billions. Ani werey ni gbogbo yin ati Tinubu oni 50 car convoy in a poverty-stricken country😢😢😢😢 !!! E ni ku re
So now Nigerian will need to pay for the property before using it 😂😂 WOW
GOOD TALK BRO
I think the Minister of Interior has spoken well. Will it stop the citizens from protesting? That is to be seen.
Spoken well kini? Person wey just dey jump up and down
This government has done nothing to improve the standard of living of Nigerians!
Theh have only become more impoverished!
To OBIdients and labour party. Please, where in the constitution is it stated that a Nigerian needs approval to protest? Asking for the sakes of knowledge
Alex Otti only shows his ignorance or, better say, he wants to be politically correct.
@Otobong-Idung with this fact, why have the OBIdients and the labour party publicly condemn Alex for his lie and dictatorial utterance?
@Otobong-Idung should the OBIdients and labour party wish to protest in the future in abia state, will Alex, restrict them or deny them of this fundamental right
@@Otobong-Idung or is the Labour Party and obident allow this dictatorial statement by Alex stand?.or pretend Alex didn't say this?
@@Otobong-Idung a fundamental right that's sacrosanct and fought for woth blood of many, Alex should be allowed to erode?
The problem isn't about giving govt time but their sincerity. Imagine a govt that have wide and broad wastage running their own expenditures and you expected the citizens to exercise patient. C'mon now.
@Interior Minister, you go explain tire.
Why are real questions not being asked
Damilare Adenola Weldon!
