During the Pearl Harbor attack, a P-36 pilot shot down an A6M2. Just because one aircraft is technically superior to the other, Luck and circumstance can change the odds. The pilot got very lucky, since the enemy aircraft crossed in front of him, he fired, and down it went. He was doubly lucky to survive a swarm of revenge-seeking A6M2 pilots s to tell the tale.
The thing so striking is that the bi-plane was so much slower that it could easily turn inside the faster monoplanes and rake it with fire. Also much lower stall speed. Would seem that in a high angle of attack climb a 27 would overtake the 10, then stall and fall through before the 10. Both of these were advantages of a slower more maneuverable aircraft over a faster aircraft with a wider turning arc and higher stall speed.
The Ki-10 was one of the faster biplanes of the period due to its engine. It had a large V12 engine known as the Ha-9, which was shoehorned onto the Ki-10's airframe. The Ha-9 had 800-950hp, powerful for a biplane.
Interesting film for 1940, in that it wasn't entirely one-sided - one of the Japanese fighters got shot down.

Beautiful! The the Nakajima KI-27 Nate.
These Japanese fighters are the type the Flying Tigers fought most often in the early days of World War 2 .
I've been looking everywhere for this video and finally, here it is. Thank you for uploading this, though it was years ago
Great dogfight scenes! Way better than The Flying Tigers. The Japanese sure know how to make a movie.👍
I guess the Ki-10 was pretty good stand in for the I-15 and the Hawker II/III biplanes that China used at the time.
Very intersting footage.
babehunter1324 But not as good as Polikarpov I16s fighter provided by the Soviet Union
Beautiful move...incredible evolution fighters
I'm surprised that Godzilla didn't make a cameo!
Because these aren't models lol
Do you have the complete movie available to upload? I would be interested in seeing the whole movie.
thanks for uploading this!

Wieso gewinnen immer die Japaner? Die anderen konnten doch auch fliegen
"Nips"?
Gin or rum?
😊
致敬牺牲的民国空军勇士们❤
Bad folly effects.
