The Karnataka government has "put on hold" a Teacher's Day award to the principal of a college in Udupi district which became the epicentre of a 2022 row when it barred Muslim students wearing hijab from entering the premises. By using the word "kitab" and "Hijab", he has actually insulted Kannada, KItab is an unknown word, If he wanted to say, He should have said "ಮುಸುಕು" for a veil and" ಪುಸ್ತಕ " for book in Kannada.

why cant be kitab with hijab. why always us choosing things. I studied in a islamic school where , out of 50-60 students, there were just 2 hindus and rest all muslims. They used to proudly apply their tika on their foreheads. we never asked them to wash it out before coming to the class. Not just the students but the teachers would also come in their traditional hindu attire. This is just pure bigotry. Remember when the tides will change, you wont be able to tolerate us.
