  • It was a privilege to have the chance to work on such a fine instrument, and I learnt so much about them such as re-stringing and tuning, along with 'Goosing the Swan'.

Followed this recipe so closely I thought I'd accidentally posted my sitar on RUclips. Many thanks Karl. I used wood filler wood glue and sawdust mix for the Toomba. What paint did you use to cover up please.

No problem sir. I used some water based acrylic paints, and matched the colour myself. It took a while, but it turned out pretty good!

@@SniffMyDeadwax I love shellac, and use it all the time! One of my custom guitars has 180 coats of shellac. It's an excellent finish!

@@karlhuttenmeister I secured a quantity of it from a seller on eBay, I understand you have to mix it with meth spirit or something? Cheers!

@SniffMyDeadwax excellent, yes, methylated spirits and shellac. I use an old pasta sauce jar, fill i half way with the metho, then add some flakes (like a handful) put lid on, shake well every hour for a few hours, let the sediment settle after a few days, then carefully pour the clear shellac liquid nto another jar without disturbing the sediment on yhe bottom of the first jar.

That's correct. I'm new to this 'video as you go' thing, so I missed a few parts.
      Oh well....
