I realize it was a common side show act back then, but I wonder what would make a promoter say to himself, "Hmm, these people are paying for motor-sports, I bet they'd enjoy someone blowing themselves up too." I just don't see the correlation... But thanks for the great post, the monster trucks put on a fantastic show of racing!

The song for the technical segment is also the theme song for USWA Championship Wrestling from 1992-1997. Still trying to find that production track.

Maybe he knew the truck was going to cut out at the line anyway

Round #2 Invader vs. Buffalo Tremor; Invader made a right hand turn instead of a left hand turn. Should have been disqualified.

OSDCrusher I don’t believe there was a requirement on which direction you made the turn.

How come every other truck made the same turn except for what Invader had been doing?

@@OSDCrusher Most trucks still had the driver's seat on the left side, so making a left hand turn provided greater visibility. For whatever reason, Dave must've been comfortable making the turn the other direction but obviously it didn't work out well in the end.

@@turnofthecenturymotorsport7746 yeah I get the driver side seating in the trucks but just find it odd he kept making opposite side turns than everyone else for that event in that lane
