This is the same jingle package which was used for KQV, WROW, KFRC, WISH, WIFE and others, and it was part of the CRC "Radiant" jingle package. This was the pre-Drake era of KHJ before "Boss Radio" came along.
EXCELLENT! Do you have any idea whatever became of jocks Frank Carroll (KHJ) and Bill Bennett (I think from KFRC) after they left their stations? Nothing is ever really spoken of them -- like EVER.
I'd be willing to bet that the KHJ letters don't stand for anything. Everybody likes to say that WLS stands for "World's Largest Store" and WGN "World's Greatest Newspaper" (the Chicago Tribune). The Commerce Department issued call letters sequentially in those days. A lot of people thought KFRC got its letters from "Francisco." Geography had nothing to do with it. The applicants would've gotten those call letters if they were in Topeka. The station before KFRC got KFRB, the station after KFRC got KFRD, and so on.
I’m still waiting to hear the Radiant Radio ID jingles, weather music (fabulous) and news Sounders. Does anyone have that package? 🎵Radiant Radio Ninety-Three…KHJ Don Lee🎵
No, KHJ was pretty much a hodge-podge of block programming, news and "personality" music shows with DJs such as Henry Travis, George Crowell, Frank Carroll, Mike Secrist, and Paul Compton (whose jingles are heard in this compilation), Wink Martindale, and others. It may not surprise anyone to know this, but I thought it was worthy to note that KHJ was quite the money pit for RKO General, reportedly losing somewhere in the neighborhood of $750,000 a year to keep KHJ on the air before bringing Bill Drake in to put Boss Radio on KHJ and turn KHJ's fortunes around. Steve Allen and Jayne Meadows did the morning show (9:05-10am) in the months before RKO gave Bill Drake the reins of the station in '65.
I love these jingles because they are so awful. The songwriters had no idea what they were doing. There was no focus to the jngles except to wedge in the callsign and lots of unnecessary lyrics. Bill Drake was right about keeping the jingles short and to the point.
Fabulous. It truly was the "Fab Fifties."
Wonderfoul radio jingles I love the 50s
The America jingles of the late 50's and early/mid 60's were wonderful. PAMS especially.

Wow! Fascinating stuff!
nice find! the quality is excellent.
KHJ = Kindness, Happiness, Joy
As opposed to Stevie Wonder’s station across town, KJLH. Kindness, Joy, Love, Happiness

Several years before "Boss Radio".
Almost identical to the late ‘50s-early ‘60s package that WBZ Boston used.
What was KHJ's format before Boss Radio? Was this MOR or did they have a Top 40 era before Boss?

Interesting!
These guys sound like the Ames Brothers.
