The Suzuki XL6 is a spacious and practical family car. Some might say it has an Uber feel about it, but I don't think so. And even if it does, who cares? I am all for space and all for practicality, especially when it comes in such a package at such a price. The XL6 is a great option for those who have a kid or two or who happen to cart a few people around at a time (Uber maybe? ha ha). I love the captain chairs!

Love the review, Juliet! I don't think there is a Suzuki model I don't like. All their cars are superb and great value for money. This XL6 is very very nice.
I have to agree with you JP!!! And thank you for your message xxxx
We love a Suzuki- except for the fact that all of these models do not auto lock their doors! Neither do the Toyota badged models, and this is a serious oversight, and one that should be made available at dealers for free via software upgrade.
You said it
We have auto lock in the Indian versions. 16 inch wheels with 195/60R16 tyres too. I have one myself.
@@jalexrosh this proves my point- its purely software and for some reason not enabled in SA.
good honest review - practical and calling a spade a spade..........Suzuki's are all fabulous value for money - just get the manual gearbox !
Hello. can you include safety features (number of airbags etc,) on your reviews, i think that stuff is really important.
I love Sukuzi cars, i just think they need to sort out their auto gearbox. The 4 speed auto they put on their cars is not make sure 😁. I feel more and more people want automatics and the 4 speed is a dealbreaker.
I will definitely bear this in mind :)
Great review! I have the privilege to take many different Suzukis home every now and then, and the XL6 is BY FAR my 4 year old’s favourite! Kids love the captain chairs. 😂
When will the swift come to south africa want 2 know
I LOVE those seats!!!
They advertise it as big, but it is not actually so, just cleverly designed. my wife's 2014 Honda CR-V Comfort is actually about 12 inches longer. I was surprised. I bought a silver and black two tone GLX XL 6 today!
It's big on the inside. Lots of space
On our second Suzuki and have enjoyed every minute... absolutely fuss free. We don't have kids but packing space for holiday is always a consideration when going away for linger than a weekend, and this looks ideal. Thanks for the review Juliet will definitely have a closer look.
This vehicle is known as the XL7 in many Asian countries. Here, it's going for less than $22K with a (very) mild hybrid system, converted from my local currency. Interior plastics l feel cheap and the center storage is a joke, but i think it's a great choice for bringing and fetching kids from school.
This one in bluish black color looks pretty cool.
Thinking of trading my ertiga for this car.....
Yes, Yes it does give uber vibes.
so much so that you will exspect it to apear in a movie in a scene where a uber will be picking up someone at the airport
Mercedes C class gives Uber vibes in some European Countries. In SA it's a luxury car.
I’ve been test driving a bunch of cars in the last few months and the build quality of the Suzukis always felt sub par in the interior department. Also 5 gears in a larger car is a no no
I get that they’re affordable but they also FEEL cheap. I’d definitely buy one in the future if that changes.
I feel you, but against what does it feel subpar, because from my experience, they do have one of the better put together interiors in their respective classes
Yes, they have an array of plastics in the car, but they are well put together. That is the difference. We own two Suzuki's, one is 2 years old (Swift) the other is brand new (Baleno), and the 2-year-old one still feels new, 26 000km, no rattle to speak about. If you compare it with the competition, it is doing well.
Yeah, they do feel cheap. We've never had a Suzuki before but I'm curious about the ownership experience because I often pass by a Suzuki dealership on my way home. They say they're cheap to run and maintain, and for some applications like school service or just the daily drive, that's all that matters for many folks, I guess.
@@jpmegane they are ok compared to other cheap vehicles, of course.
I love naturally aspirated. Turbos are extra maintenance and can be more of a curse. Thank you for the natural reviews😊. If possible, no of airbags and whether options are auto cvt or auto natural are available. Thank you kindly. Good reviews.
I love Suzuki but it’s actually expensive 😢😢😢
Juliet your reviews are entertaining and informative. Any chances on reviewing the Ford Puma just to see why the price tag is so ridiculous
I have done a written review on my website. You will see my very honest thoughts about the price tag ;)
Brookland Baptist Church
this is so similar to the toyota >?
The car she's angry about is probably a Mercedes C class
Hmmmm I can't recall ha ha
Very nice, but does it come with a towbar?
Mine has a towbar fitted by the Dealer. Cost R8300. I have towed a loaded venter trailer twice from Durban to the Cape and back.
I like it!
No engine temperature gauge?
It could be a warning light when temp is too high.
Good review. I'm currently looking for a car in the compact SUV segment as I have 2 small kids. This one is likely too big. Love the new grand vitara and urban cruiser from Toyota.
Save yourself money n headache n go to a cherry dealership no brainer
@@stilloutside not sure about Chinese cars. Also they are not as fuel efficient. So might look affordable but in the long run, it's not.
They have been here for almost 5years if I'm not mistaken n sales keep climbing..I think it's clear indicator that they are at least good for five years...I personally don't think anyone should keep a car more than 3....unless you collecting...after 3 years sell it while you can get some money back n go for another
@@stilloutside prefer tried and tested brands. 5 years ain't enough for me. Suzuki doing a great job in the value/budget space with their cars.
@@stilloutside LOL, are you joking?
Drove the XL6 for Approximately 3 weeks ... GLX Auto...
Get the manual. The auto is great for short distances but on the highway you are lucky if you see 6.7l/100km
Even in overdrive it still isn't as fuel efficient as the Manual. Another thing is this car really doesn't cope well with cross winds.
Other than that its perfect. Low on power yes... But the pickup and go will surprise you.
Safety spec: Reincarnation. Made in India
The best safety feature is the driver. A bad driver will still die in a Tesla, volvo, mercedes e.t.c
