I went with 4 mini’s & 3 aiders with a 1.0 debated on longs but didn’t like the idea of them catching brush when I dip my head under a limb. Hope I like them.
@@outdoorsmanofmichigan3858 so unless your going to saddle hunt with it as kinda a hybrid i would lean on the 1.0. its stupid light and for longer hunts its nice. If you sit most of your hunts i would also lean toward 1.o. if over 5.11 i would lean toward 1.0
Hawk helium 3 pk, long, two step with rope mod are awesome!! I love them! I use minimum hang on stand. Cheap and light weight 23lb set up. I can get 19’ to platform with 20” single loop aider on each stick.
I agree. I run 3 full length stick and was going to upgrade to an ewo but really didn't make sense to me. For the price , they stack decent and I sure do like 2 steps.
I’ve run shorts and longs this year and one thing that you touched on is aiders. Regardless of short or long sticks, I found that the lone wolf cable aiders were a game changer! Like you said if you run 3 full length sticks with aiders you get to 18-20’ depending on how far you stretch it. If you get to the tree and only need 12’ then it’s only two sticks and take the other up the tree or leave it on the ground. I’ve never felt unprepared with three long sticks with aiders.
5 minis. Going to put cables on 2. Will carry 2 with aiders and 3 screw in steps for private and all 5 on public. I like the pivot stand off for crooked iowa trees. Great video as always
What would you suggest for a guy that currently is a saddle hunter. That is debating with getting a treestand to run some, but is more interested in overall setup speed being short as possible, and having as few things to hang up as possible, and only needing to hunt at 12-16ish feet anywhere? I currently have a 4 pack of the 18” rotating step XOP ultra’s, and I only use 3, and an XOP platform that’s real nice but kinda heavy. I carry everything I need on a Kifaru frame pack, weight isn’t a problem but I want flat pack ability. Currently the standoffs on the minis are annoying the crap out of me. Makes it hard to put anything on top of them in the frame. I like the idea of the flat folding long line wolfs, but not sure if it’s needed. As far as things sticking out, I can stick stuff off the bottom of said pack and run em even with the top if necessary. What would you run in this situation? Set up speed being #1 interest, packability second(mainly with the stand-off bracket issue-, and everything else third.
I bought a mobile setup for the first time this year and went with the 1.0 with 4 minis with two cable aiders just last moth. Still haven't tried it out. I wanted to buy USA, plus I just don't know what I'm going to do. Probably a mix of still and tree hunting.
3 longs with aiders is pretty tough to beat but I do dig 4 minis with aiders so I don’t get hung up on brush for a better packing setup. Either way you can’t go wrong!
I turned into saddle hunting. Four minis for me. I get high enough to shoot a deer. People get caught up in high how you can get, when it should be how much concealment can you get
Great video and great timing considering I’m trying to decide what lone wolf package I want to go with. Thinking the 1.0 and 4 double sticks with maybe 2 aiders. Keep up the great work!
Long sticks are around 32 inches. Short sticks are around 18 step to step plus a aider at 18 gets you a 36 inch stick that gets you 54 inches high per stick. For that reason, I will always hunt with a 2 step stick. Carrying 4 is pretty light and compact
3:34 was a thing of beauty. Well played
Solid info. Thanks for going over these options!

i think minis are probably the most popular ... and i don't think there is a wrong answer

Which platform are you using and what minis?
nice man very good point on cover is key. Concealment and movement

It depends on how far up you can step. You kinda have to try them all i guess. Find what you like. Thanks for posting.
sometimes it does depend on your stride

2 doubles (20”) with a movable 3 step aider

great input. It's a pain to figure this out without spending a fortune! That's the worst part really.
Dang it man! Got enough sticks?!
don't tell my wife, but yeah i got a collection
Great video, the gas can stored next to the sticks in the beginning of the video made me cringe 😬
hahaha why is that for the scent factor? or it should be out in the shed hahaha...
So if money isn't an issue, you can't go wrong saddle hunting with 4 lwcg doubles ?
Probably going with the doubles
