DRIFT DRUMS - 21" Zildjian Avedis 1950s Transition Stamp Ride 2440gr

Wonderful 21" Zildjian Avedis Transition Stamp Ride at a weight of 2440 grams. It is the type III stamp and has a curved edge, which gives it a slightly more complex tone, shorter decay and nice low pitched sustain and crash. Feels and plays lighter than the weight would suggest.

I love this sound! The vintage Avedis (Pre-A Series) actually sound better than most of the modern Zildjian K's. I two vintage 14" Avedis hi hat cymbals from the same era but they are not mates. I matched them according to their sound which is soft and dark, and they sound like they were made for each other.
For more volume and a stronger "chick", I also have a vintage 14" K Light top that I use with the same Avedis bottom. Another match made in heaven.
Both tops are slightly heavier than the bottom which has a shallow bell and wide lathing. The 3 hi hat cymbals make 2 wonderful sounding pairs which could be called siblings instead of twins. They will never be for sale.
