Walking along the railway track from Mettuppalyam to Ooty used to be one of our foremost adventures those days (in the mid 1970) when we were students. We would go to Mettuppalayam on a Friday evening after classes and stay there at a lodge called Bharath Lodge(or something) which was near the railway station (RS 50/- for a huge room with five beds) go for a second show movie and start walking along the railway line the next day early morning. There used to be dormitories in some of the stations on the way ( I dont remember which now) stay in one of them for a pittance, 5 or 6 Rupees for a bed, continue our walk the next day and reach Ooty. There used to be no restrictions and no wildlife also. I live in Gudalur. Even now when I am' in the mood' I catch the first bus to Ooty, have my breakfast at the Railway canteen there, walk along the railway line to Coonoor and catch a bus back to Gudalur. Now when I try to canvass my friends, at least those who are still alive, to reorganize the trek for old time sake, they call me a psycho or weirdo😁 Anyway thanks for bringing back those wonderful memories. Would like to meet Anne👍
Yes though a senior with a painful knee,I would love to walk along those tracks especially with a guide like Anne. And like she said I am hoping the universe will conspire to get me there one day .God bless.
I belong to Ooty. Born 1958 brought up and studied. Currently living in Bangalore. Thank you for reliving my memories. Very much nostalgic. Hats off.👍👍
I just came back home from ooty 5 hrs back.. and i already want to go back after watching this video. Ooty is beautiful and roaming around ooty with a local is whole new trip altogether
Ann is a wonderful knowledgeable lady❤️Her personality is so cool n calm..such delightful company.. feeling proud of her for the tremendous hard work which her team n she did to turn a dirty public toilet into source of knowledge#A beautiful Library 😍kuddos to her👌✨
Without visiting somewhere if you get to see and feel the aura and beauty of place sitting in your blanket on a snowy night in J&K, that's just because of this beautiful channel. This channel has become my fav chilling spot.
I never use to tire on those endless walks , the cool air with the scent from the cedar hedges , eucalyptus and myriad other plants was so exhilarating. The walks were better with mists floating about. The beautiful movies in Bedford, the cemeteries with beautiful sculptures of angels and cherubims, hike to hill tops ,fruits called Thoutpallam (Rose Myrtle fruit)on hillside.Bungalows with trees abundant with plums and peaches.Less population back then .Those who lived there before 80's were lucky to see the beauty, no wonder the British likened it to Switzerland.
I too work in a Tea estate in Valparai. Valparai is a heaven for wildlife lovers, though it doesn't have a charm of the Nilgiris but is a quiet and peaceful place. But yes the Nilgiris takes the cake. And yes Anne is a wonderful person to spend time with. Hope to meet her when I vist Lovedale.
Man I must say, I got lost for a few minutes, the way Anne told everything with her words, and the way you explained in the voiceover. The music, the place, especially the 'one two', loved all of it. Please keep doing it, never stop!!
Such a perfect timing for this series. I grew up in quaint town called chail close to shimla and now moving to coonoor for 2 months to experience and decide a final move. Hopefully we will connect when I move next week
Ooty is Nostalgia for me too because I lived in Ooty For 8 years in my childhood. It is a beautiful place with a very different mountain vibe compared to the himalayas. ( I am typing this as i sit in front of a snow capped mountain in himachal right now😬 ) I really enjoyed watching this. The best part was the railway track walk and lovedale station. I did the same during my childhood. Awesome. ❤😍😀
I admire that how passionately u create moments with people and places!! I am also from Chamraj tea estate of Ooty … I agree with you that NILGIRIS has some nostalgia!!
Dear Abhishek: This video stands out for lots of social initiatives by the elegant lady Anne and the gentle walk on the rail track in a jungle. The thought to modify unused public toilet into a art gallery is transformational. Looking forward to meet Anne in near future, I could definitely contribute books to her library. Best wishes from Mumbai
I'm in Ooty now for 100th time perhaps, and watching this.. I wish Ann would take me on a walk too.. I have quite a number of stories to tell about Ooty as well

Your content plan is so on spot, even the little interviews and conversations seem like I'm also involved in it. You are a marvel in yourself with the art you do.Way to go Abhishek😊😊
you have so honest joyness. a polite warmth in you which makes your thoughts potrayed like you take us to golden era of india . i guess you must not having any person against you in your life .
In January this year, we were on a second visit to Ooty..now after watching your video now I wish we too could have had an Amble with Anne..a charming storyteller .. so much history and unseen beauty of nature and the places..heart-warming indeed! But Abhishek you're the real storyteller and me being from the mountains in the Eastern part, I absolutely found it so nostalgic..thank you for bringing out the best of Ooty!
abhishek you are natural understanding person who knows how the life should be enjoyed at its best . you dont have to learn anything . everything is inside you particulary you and whatever you bring to your video that is truly evergreen.
Didn't know it was of 20 mins till I finished it. I am sure anyone who loves traveling and storytelling will like this video. This video is quite different from other travel videos. Thats the speciality about it.
Some days some random search lead to gems..as it did today. Lovely episode, Wish to Amble with Anne for sure and also watch episodes on The Untravel Show. Given the COVID times, just what motivates one to be TRULY HAPPY, to feel that one is traveling along with you. Nothing like exploring a place, being with a knowledgeable local. Inspired by Library one two. The story behind Gallery One two, and yes want to feel the lady's purse too.
Very captivating . Brought back memories of the train rides I made from Mettupalayam to Ootyin the toy train , years back. Ann' s initiative to convert a municipal wash room to an art gallery is praiseworthy. Loved her walk along the rail way track , recounting littlle anecdotes in her soft, modulated voice. Thank you for this charming video.
A beautiful video, nostalgic of my numerous visits to the Nilgiris over the last 5 decades, the last one being in May this year. But some of the insights into unexplored areas were simply wonderful. Hats off to Ms. Anne for her charitable activities. Would certainly like to meet her on my next visit.
What a beauty in and around Ooty..Beyond imagination...Anne is simply awesome..She is like an ocean of knowledge and information...How precisely she tells about graves, plants and flowers etc etc ...as if she has read it just now...Too good..The place, though overcrowded , is still fascinating.....Such beautiful and majestic places need to be covered only while walking and in no way by other means..Too good..
What a nice sharing. I feel like moving there. Air seems clean there. I lived in Portland, Oregon USA for few years. This place reminds me of Portland. I saw such small library in Portland for the first time. Salutes to Anne for the MOB project and One-two too. I wish to see her!

This was so beautifully paced, scripted and shot. It just brought back the feeling you have spending time in a small town in the mountains, especially one with a colonial past. Listening to Ann speak was such a pleasure.
This is so nice. I believe when we walk across these hills hearing stories it stays in our memory longer than walks made alone without a story!. Thank you for sharing this. 💜 Totally loved it.
mazaa a gaya.. the beautiful transitions in the video especially the greenery to the road one.. the stories and the storyline... the relaxed flow... mazaa a gaya!!!

Such a magnificent journey in toy train, the mesmerizing view's of Nilgiri hills, everything was so beautiful and memorable.💖😍 Watching you from 3k subs. to just 3k away from 60k..... What an outstanding journey for you and for us as well.....😍❤️👌
Just moved by this vdo! As a student of ecology, I'm just in love with the ending where you are having snacks and tea/coffee but without any plastic. It also shows, it is possible to minimise the use of plastic. Truly MOB!
I think beauty of Nilgiris and especially Ooty is never less than Northern India mountain beauty ..it is still nt that much popular thatswhy it is saved from crowd ..Ann z really knowledgeable decent lady & best local companion❤️Agn Abhishek , your hard work n team's potential to shoot n edit # clearly visible ..kp doing good work to entertain us..seeing exotic destinations from ur eyes is real treat to my eyes n soul😍💕
👍very lovely views of famous hill station, specially exploring while walking on the rail track, very good idea along with local to New destination, very nicely explained by very humble lady nd at last having tea with pakoras......wah great
Dear Abhishek, I loved the way you think and your taste, for example I have a great inclination towards colonial structures and foggy hill station. It is a wonderful video, liked it very much. One more thing we need more people like Ann, thak you Mam you made me remember my school days story telling class.
U present the things and places just the way I wanna travel and explore ....in short I live my dream through your videos...Thank u so much for presenting such beautiful places and such interesting stories in a soothing voice and with so cute smile...🙂
This Nilgiri hills series is beautiful. Do more Abhishek! Last night I had beautiful sleep after making this my bedtime video 😊😴! So serene, happy, calming!
Wow ya Abhishek! What an interesting video. So much to learn from all your sojourns. Watching your videos truly enhance everything that is within me and makes me a richer person because of the content you share. It’s so classy: all the people that you meet and interview, your camaraderie with them and the way you present the beauty of any place.Your show has so much to offer. I wish many more people watch and subscribe to your channel .
Today I did Amble with Anne - Along the Railway line. Truly the same experience which you showed in this video. I will wait for more Untravel Videos for my future adventures. Thanking you again ❤️
i visited in 1999 and did not like Otty that time compare to himalaya. uttra khanf..sikkem etc. but today this video will me go again and visit off bet location. thank you Sirji
Absolutely fantastic video. I loved the flow of events and the simplicity with which the stories were being told. This is the first video i watched from this channel and simply loved it. I will explore the rest.
Enjoyed seeing the quaint little rail stations and the walk along the track. I relate with your Vids ad I am am avid reader of Ruskin Bond and Jim Corbett short stories and folklore. I wish I could get down from such a train and see the small villages and the life there in. Just like "Time stops at Shamli" by Bond.
It's a superb vlog Abhi and am deeply mesmerized and I really admire you and the way you are, through you we gather lots of knowledge and information .
Leisurely Walk and Lovely Conversation with such Elegant Companion , actually Heart-touching experience ,only can be enjoyed -- Dil se aur Khushi se 👌👌 Glimpse of wonderful hidden Corners of Ooty , Charming Heritage sites of Nostalgic Colonial Era - All are truly the Watching Pleasures !! Thanks for sharing the "private" side of very "public/touristy" places. Love these episodes where you are showing another side of very popular places.
Glad you're enjoying it 🤗
Very captivating .
Glad you liked it 😊
A beautiful video, nostalgic of my numerous visits to the Nilgiris over the last 5 decades, the last one being in May this year. But some of the insights into unexplored areas were simply wonderful. Hats off to Ms. Anne for her charitable activities. Would certainly like to meet her on my next visit.

Thanks for the kind words guys 🤗💛
This was so beautifully paced, scripted and shot. It just brought back the feeling you have spending time in a small town in the mountains, especially one with a colonial past. Listening to Ann speak was such a pleasure.

Welcome aboard
Enjoyed seeing the quaint little rail stations and the walk along the track. I relate with your Vids ad I am am avid reader of Ruskin Bond and Jim Corbett short stories and folklore. I wish I could get down from such a train and see the small villages and the life there in. Just like "Time stops at Shamli" by Bond.
No word's to discribe how it feels to watch your video's. Stay blessed and happy as always. Long way to go Abhishek.
