Ooty UNTRAVELED | Don't Miss Out On This Slow Walk For A Delightful Ooty Travel Experience

- Опубликовано: 20 янв 2022
- For me travelling to Ooty is more of a nostalgia than going to a holiday destination. 15 years back when I came to Bangalore, then this was the first place I visited.
And that's why Ooty or rather Nilgiris as a whole is a reminder of a lot of happy nostalgic memories - that slow drizzle, floating clouds, hills carpeted with tea plantations, heritage train crawling through numerous tunnels and the charming vintage colonial cottages.
I have realized that the best way to explore Ooty is by foot, as every corner here has a hidden story waiting to be unleashed. So come let's UNTRAVEL OOTY with me & Anne.
This is not just going to be about the best tourist places of Ooty, but an experiential travel guide to Ooty, Nilgiris.

I have read a comment saying that ur channel is under rated as per your talent.
He/she was saying true but He/She doesn't tell u that how u and ur team partners makes us feel .
It's indescribable and just can be feeled.
Honestly I have watched many vedios of himachal ,village and nature's, but honestly u are the thing goal for which I think those other vedios were mediator .
I am not gonna say more .
The thing is
U are taking all my heart feelings .
U tells the truth, I think u cares about us .
Lots of love ❤ .
Some time ur works matters doesn't matter how much fame and money u get in reverse .
And sorry if any of fans doesn't gave u respect and have asked some qu that u like a less , because I think u like all of us from heart .
Keep going my bro .
Just not only for ur career but also for having that basket of love and feeling of ur brdr,s

Wow Ann you are doing great work all three of you i live in Kattabettu my name is Kitty you look like Anita she lives in Ooty
Excellent . I'll carry books on my next trip
This video portrayed Ooty in a different perspective 👍....
Walking along the railway track from Mettuppalyam to Ooty used to be one of our foremost adventures those days (in the mid 1970) when we were students. We would go to Mettuppalayam on a Friday evening after classes and stay there at a lodge called Bharath Lodge(or something) which was near the railway station (RS 50/- for a huge room with five beds) go for a second show movie and start walking along the railway line the next day early morning. There used to be dormitories in some of the stations on the way ( I dont remember which now) stay in one of them for a pittance, 5 or 6 Rupees for a bed, continue our walk the next day and reach Ooty. There used to be no restrictions and no wildlife also. I live in Gudalur. Even now when I am' in the mood' I catch the first bus to Ooty, have my breakfast at the Railway canteen there, walk along the railway line to Coonoor and catch a bus back to Gudalur. Now when I try to canvass my friends, at least those who are still alive, to reorganize the trek for old time sake, they call me a psycho or weirdo😁
Anyway thanks for bringing back those wonderful memories. Would like to meet Anne👍
So lovely hearing about your adventures back in the day 😃. Full of nostalgia.
Yes though a senior with a painful knee,I would love to walk along those tracks especially with a guide like Anne. And like she said I am hoping the universe will conspire to get me there one day .God bless.
I had been to Ooty 5 times and I can't get over it ....such a nice place MashaAllah
That sounds absolutely amazing! So a two day walk along the railway track with stops on the way. Your current trips also sound divine. Keep it up!
I belong to Ooty. Born 1958 brought up and studied. Currently living in Bangalore.
Thank you for reliving my memories. Very much nostalgic. Hats off.👍👍
Thank you 😊
Ann is a wonderful knowledgeable lady❤️Her personality is so cool n calm..such delightful company.. feeling proud of her for the tremendous hard work which her team n she did to turn a dirty public toilet into source of knowledge#A beautiful Library 😍kuddos to her👌✨
Without visiting somewhere if you get to see and feel the aura and beauty of place sitting in your blanket on a snowy night in J&K, that's just because of this beautiful channel. This channel has become my fav chilling spot.
Snowy night in Kashmir 😃. Woww💛
I just came back home from ooty 5 hrs back.. and i already want to go back after watching this video. Ooty is beautiful and roaming around ooty with a local is whole new trip altogether
Oh wow, thanks Vaibhav 😊
Man I must say, I got lost for a few minutes, the way Anne told everything with her words, and the way you explained in the voiceover. The music, the place, especially the 'one two', loved all of it. Please keep doing it, never stop!!
Thanks so much for the kind words Lakshya 🤗💛
Dear Abhishek,
Getting your video notification is a delight in itself. I already know I'm in for a visual treat and therapy. Your content plan is so on spot, even the little interviews and conversations seem like I'm also involved in it. You are a marvel in yourself with the art you do.Way to go Abhishek😊😊
You are too kind 🤗🤗🤗
*Ooty never looked so beautiful and meaningful earlier* 😇
*Anne was the icing on the cake* 🙌🏽
💛
I never use to tire on those endless walks , the cool air with the scent from the cedar hedges , eucalyptus and myriad other plants was so exhilarating. The walks were better with mists floating about. The beautiful movies in Bedford, the cemeteries with beautiful sculptures of angels and cherubims, hike to hill tops ,fruits called Thoutpallam (Rose Myrtle fruit)on hillside.Bungalows with trees abundant with plums and peaches.Less population back then .Those who lived there before 80's were lucky to see the beauty, no wonder the British likened it to Switzerland.
You were really lucky 💛
Dear Abhishek:
This video stands out for lots of social initiatives by the elegant lady Anne and the gentle walk on the rail track in a jungle. The thought to modify unused public toilet into a art gallery is transformational.
Looking forward to meet Anne in near future, I could definitely contribute books to her library.
Best wishes from Mumbai
Thank you sir :)
Such a perfect timing for this series. I grew up in quaint town called chail close to shimla and now moving to coonoor for 2 months to experience and decide a final move. Hopefully we will connect when I move next week
all the best 😊
Chail is a wonderful place!

So happy to read this. Thanks a ton 💛🤗
Ooty is Nostalgia for me too because I lived in Ooty For 8 years in my childhood. It is a beautiful place with a very different mountain vibe compared to the himalayas. ( I am typing this as i sit in front of a snow capped mountain in himachal right now😬 )
I really enjoyed watching this. The best part was the railway track walk and lovedale station. I did the same during my childhood. Awesome. ❤😍😀
Such sweet memories. Thanks for sharing Pratik 😊
What a nice sharing. I feel like moving there. Air seems clean there. I lived in Portland, Oregon USA for few years. This place reminds me of Portland. I saw such small library in Portland for the first time. Salutes to Anne for the MOB project and One-two too. I wish to see her!
What a remarkable video!!! Thank you so much for making and sharing this!
💛
A beautiful video, nostalgic of my numerous visits to the Nilgiris over the last 5 decades, the last one being in May this year. But some of the insights into unexplored areas were simply wonderful. Hats off to Ms. Anne for her charitable activities. Would certainly like to meet her on my next visit.
Loved watching it, keep doing these works! :)
I admire that how passionately u create moments with people and places!! I am also from Chamraj tea estate of Ooty … I agree with you that NILGIRIS has some nostalgia!!
Oh wow, thanks for sharing Ishita 💛. When the place is this beautiful, we dont need to do much :)
Looking forward to walk with Anne in the Next vacation.
Excellent video covering all nick and corners of Nilgiris hills.
Anne is the treasure trove of information on Ooty. Please continue her services. God bless her.
Just Wow! Such a gentle lady and a story teller!
In January this year, we were on a second visit to Ooty..now after watching your video now I wish we too could have had an Amble with Anne..a charming storyteller .. so much history and unseen beauty of nature and the places..heart-warming indeed! But Abhishek you're the real storyteller and me being from the mountains in the Eastern part, I absolutely found it so nostalgic..thank you for bringing out the best of Ooty!
Bhai behtareen 👍🏻👍🏻

Watching your videos truly enhance everything that is within me and makes me a richer person because of the content you share. The library is a wonderful initiative . Never seen anything like this. Very cool
Bahut sunder anubhav.....
This was so beautifully paced, scripted and shot. It just brought back the feeling you have spending time in a small town in the mountains, especially one with a colonial past. Listening to Ann speak was such a pleasure.
💛💛💛
this is must watch video on repeat mode.. I would recommend atleast once a week.. its therapy!! 😇😇
Thanks for sharing the "private" side of very "public/touristy" places. Love these episodes where you are showing another side of very popular places.

Simply amazing👍
Loved it!
Some days some random search lead to gems..as it did today. Lovely episode, Wish to Amble with Anne for sure and also watch episodes on The Untravel Show. Given the COVID times, just what motivates one to be TRULY HAPPY, to feel that one is traveling along with you. Nothing like exploring a place, being with a knowledgeable local. Inspired by Library one two. The story behind Gallery One two, and yes want to feel the lady's purse too.
Thats very kind of you. Thank you so much Sudha 😊
Such an amazing lady.... So true such composed personality.... Nice Inticetative.... As through u we get to know such person
Anne completes the walk at my favourite rock overlooking the Ketti Valley. 😊
💛
Absolutely loved Anne! She's grace personified.
True😊
Very captivating . Brought back memories of the train rides I made from Mettupalayam to Ootyin the toy train , years back.
Ann' s initiative to convert a municipal wash room to an art gallery is praiseworthy. Loved her walk along the rail way track , recounting littlle anecdotes in her soft, modulated voice. Thank you for this charming video.
Glad you liked it 😊
It was a lovely lovely walk. A memory which will be etched in my mind for life!

My heart is full of 🥰 now

What a beauty in and around Ooty..Beyond imagination...Anne is simply awesome..She is like an ocean of knowledge and information...How precisely she tells about graves, plants and flowers etc etc ...as if she has read it just now...Too good..The place, though overcrowded , is still fascinating.....Such beautiful and majestic places need to be covered only while walking and in no way by other means..Too good..
Thank you 😊

Enjoyed seeing the quaint little rail stations and the walk along the track. I relate with your Vids ad I am am avid reader of Ruskin Bond and Jim Corbett short stories and folklore. I wish I could get down from such a train and see the small villages and the life there in. Just like "Time stops at Shamli" by Bond.
