He took care of his inevitable hair loss. He WAS NOT a Norwood II, However, he looks like in 5-10 years he definitely would be. He might need a touch up in his mid 40’s just to maintain what he’s going to lose. THIS is how a great transplant should be. The less hair loss/minimal loss, the older a person is (40 years plus), and a good doctor that can foresee (educated assumption). Makes for the best success cases.

The use of Finasteride is especially recommended to try to maintain the native hair. You could even recover some hair using these products. Therefore, it is not mandatory but it is recommended for a better result.
