I bought me some bridgedale socks that didnt have an L and an R, both socks had L on them. I thought I had two left feet until Janie pointed out L is for large.. Good info Neil, like the look of those liner gloves..
I always feel like Jimmy Cricket when I look down and see the L&R. I've got a spare set of meraklon inner gloves Jonny if you want me to send you a set?
A lot of down-to-earth common sense. Some of the surplus gear is really good. I'm quite partial to the old BW lined leather gloves for late autumn and early spring. I do like your take on LR socks. Also consider this: _IF_ there really IS a difference, it's near impossible to distinguish between L and R in the dark.
Wool is certainly the wonder fabric and my material of choice for warmth. Great information as always Neil thanks for sharing its what keeps me coming back to your channel, glad to see your channel taking off.
New Subscriber ❤️ I’m New to Bushcraft but watched untold hours of videos for tips and gear ... Finally found one that appeals to my tight fisted nature 🤣 I have a saying “ If it’s Free Its Me “ and i love money saving tips 👍🏽 Thank’s for your informative Videos and i look forward to going through your past videos and following your future one’s 😉
i always buy the longest sox i can get,, when the heels & toes finally wear out i cut em off at the ankle & sew em up & i have new sox 4 my low hiking boots
A hint, Greenland wax is really easy to make: 10 parts paraffin wax to 1 part beeswax. Melt gently together, line a margarine tub with brown paper, and pour the wax in and let it set and cool, then wrap the paper round it. The wax will soak into the paper but won’t stick to it, which gives you some fire lighters. If you add some citronella oil while you’re melting the wax you give a little added insect repellent.
@@greencraft4783 to be honest, the actual proportions don’t matter, Greenland Wax is just a mix of beeswax and paraffin wax. I’ve proofed a few bits of kit with it, but I’ve seen a RUclips video of someone using a candle stub. You could add some olive oil to give a little more gelling.
You were talking about your baseball cap and I was thinking ' hot and sweaty in the summer' and bang, you addresed the problem, would very hot water take the wax off? Great information as always mate.
Hi Neil. You a local chap? Somerset area, perhaps? Also, why don’t you just buy another cap and leave it untaxed? They will both last twice as long then! R.S.V.P
I really like your take on the "new tech innovative gear" (really over-priced stuff). Thanks for a number of good tips! It seems as though you made those mittens yourself. Are you planning on making an instructional video of those?
And another commonsense take on gear good stuff as always, But just one question what had that fuel bottle been in its previous life? A coke cola bottle or a fruit juice bottle or what?
He just show me your channel and said that he knew you so I wanted to say that I am is Fraser and I am Griffin because I have to use my name is account

We used wool gloves with leather covers, in colder area we had thin gloves so hands don't freeze to metal.

Sound advice again Neil. Love that Gucci gear.😁

Best yet mate, found a niche in the market with this one.
Cheers Pat, thanks for commenting. I know " kit" videos are popular, but I don't only want to be know for these.

Great advice Keith, I may give that a go, as my old wax is running low.

Good video , thanks for sharing , stay safe , God bless !
informative video but what is the name of those thermal gloves?
I tend to wear odd socks so that, if I need to take them off, I can change which feet they were on.
You were talking about your baseball cap and I was thinking ' hot and sweaty in the summer' and bang, you addresed the problem, would very hot water take the wax off?

I find soap, warm water and a nail brush works best for me Rob.
very good video :) nice job :)
Thanks Neil! ATB Sam Adler

Peter, look in the description below...the link is there.
Do you gave a link to the cheap thermal gloves please?
Another great video . Was the mesh bag you had the stove windscreen and fuel bottle in an off the shelf item or something you crafted yourself ?
One i made myself. I like the mesh it wears well and dries quick.
And another commonsense take on gear good stuff as always, But just one question what had that fuel bottle been in its previous life? A coke cola bottle or a fruit juice bottle or what?
Fuel bottle used to be a fruit shoot juice drink
