You so crazy man. Love you bro!
Thanks a lot man!
8:14 in the video showing the old pully confirs that the cast bolt head does not exist on the old one thats why the bolt in the wheel is used for tensioning.
So on the new one use the cast bolt when release the tension thats what its for.
Since ints not made to stand the force on the torx head.
Just a recomendation to your really great video.
I have a e36 a pulley squeaks when car is warm and I accelerate with car in gear not in idle... Can't figure out witch one squeaks... Would appreciate your input.. thanks!
Great videos - Thanks
You are doing a great video keep it up. thanks. I have a 2001 e38 and my belt came off, the belt is good. What could cause it ? could it be the tensioner? never done it before will attempt to do it.
I WILL THANK YOU
Thanks!!
If the tensioner does not want to pull down easily is it basically just needs to be replaced?
Hey man, do you think to replace the belt tendioner n a 740i would be the same 🤔🤔
I like u videos amigo
Do you have video on how to replace my accessory hydraulic belt tensioner for my 1997 528i bmw?
Curious question if the belt were to break while driving and water comes out what could be a outcome I have 540i BMW 2002
The star shaped screw is torx head in wheel it just hold the wheel not for tension.
Use the cast bolt head on the tensioner i think its 13 m.m.
They changed the design the old one you tensioned on bolt head in wheel but when they put a torx there they also created the casted bolt on the tensioner, gives you more power.
do you have any videos about the steering wheel loud noise? and how to fix it thanks
14:26 i felt that so hard bruh 💔😖👌🏼
Hey man. Any guidance on a transmission rebuild?
I was worried about whether it was hydraulic or mechanical, you can see if they mechanical and when you give you VIN number they can tell you if they are mechanical or hydraulic. Once you remove your air box, the fan cowling and fan you can access the lot , i did my this weekend. Easy job
I can't seem to get the belt back on, even when the tensioner is at its loosest. I know the belt is correct because it fell off when the power steering pump prong broke off, so I replaced that, so the belt must go back on, I would think that one would loosen the tensioner and slide the belt back on just like you did and then tighten the tensioner back, but I can't seem to get the belt on. I tried a couple of cheap installers, but they were too small and didn't fit, the magnets don't stick, I just can't figure it out. Mine is an E38 2000. Any ideas?
Is it necessary to remove the fan clutch?
@seekinglife2020 yes
Nice...how do you re-tension the belt after you loosen the nuts on that tensioner? My belt has too much slack :(
1995RangeRover
YES
my m52 belt Belt Tensioner was only on with one bolt the bottom was broke off what to do? was that the block or part of oil housing bracket?
is this a mechanical tensioner or hydraulic?
What year is the car you are working on, and the build date.
Do you have to remove the radiator first, before getting to the belt? Do you have a video covering the process?
No
+gnamakoudji there's videos available on you tube
Hi you say that you should go easy on the torx nut went tensioning the pully with T50
Why is this used in this case?
The torx on the wheel is just to hold the wheel and not tension in this case there is an cast bolt head on the tensioner itself and you can see it 11:50 and11:27 in the video right under the belt, this is design to put the ratchet with socket on, much stronger and you wont strip the torx head.
This just happened to me a couple days ago. Any one know how much to get the parts?
I have a 528 and since I bought the car when the car got over 3 thousand rpms it had a really bad rattling sound but ass soon as it dropped under 3 grand it stops I thought it was a carrier bearing but my belt locked up and popped off could the tessioner be the problem?
I had same problem. Thought engine was done due to the knocking sound but when the pulley wheel flew off and rolled down the road i knew it was just the tensioner pulley.
Hello. Do u have a shop? Are u in the Bay Area? Thanks
what does the tensioner bolt on to? mine broke off .. the tensioner and pulley are completely intact .. but a piece what ever the tensioner bolts onto is still attached to the tensioner
That would be the oil filter housing. This just happened to me ... working on replacing my oil filter housing now
this pully you put on has a different design, because i belive that the cast bolt does not exist on that one then you tension on the bolt in the wheel like you did.
If the tensioner is good and you just want to replace the wheel do you know where it buy its most often sold as one peece but if tension is good and wheel is bad is there a possibilty to just replace the wheel?
Eavven do its not recomended on a car with alot of miles if the wheel is bad its alot of winning just replacing the wheel and tensioner as one piece.
mine is making that sound on the a/c side.
10:16 m50 sound 6.500 rpm =)))
Hola muchachos!!! Strip it for parts man. hehe
I noticed it was loud and then I looked again tonight and the actual plastic roller wheel is gone... It's just the metal and the belt looks a little burned.... wow. It must have just cracked and flown off.
Andy CPA same happen to me
Mine is screeching loudly when started cold. And then it goes away after driving half mile. E39 2001
You would need to replace them as soon as possible
Is this Hydraulic or Mechanical Tensioner?
