I’ve just flown on an Etihad 787-9 in business class. I’m 6’ 2” and had no problems with the lie flat seat or footwell, and the mattress topper was easily identifiable. In fact there was enough space for me to move comfortably while laying down.
the mattress is provided. You just haven't used it. I can see you put it on the floor between the bed and window. The one with small colorful triangles which looks like a pillow. On the video I could see the kid behind you was sleeping on the mattress using it as a pillow, as well as man next yo you.
$430 for the upgrade is pricey. I am looking at Eithad Business Class from LON - BOM in 4 weeks, the price is £1,100 business both ways, with a stopover in Abu Dhabi. Thats around $1,400 in total.
That’s a good price! Note that this was in the summer peak season just after restrictions were lifted, so I felt everything was expensive. Economy to HKT was $1100 on that point 🫣
@@AwardViking Fair enough, these days the airlines ask you to bid. Not long ago they would give complimentary upgrades if you looked the part. Shame they don't do that anymore. I fly with BA and always use AVIOS unless there is a dirt cheap business class offer with another airline.
Was there a preprogrammed set meals for the flight? I mean was there a designated time for breakfast lunch and dinner or snacks? And how is it different from the mirror that is served Anytime during the flight?
If you need to sleep it’s worth eating before. The food was good, but nothing super special like in first class. With dine on demand you can take it 2 hours before landing. So maybe do both?😜
I'm booked to fly Etihad soon and never thought to ask if there are any covid restrictions?? Hard to tell these days as some fools keep on wearing masks, If I get an answer I will sub to your channel,
Maybe these "fools" are wearing N95 or KN95 Mask to protect them and their family from basic colds and flu's as many sick passengers still fly. I've gotten sick from idiot behind me coughing the whole 8 hour flight.
I don’t think you got a good deal financially for the upgrade but I’m seems like you enjoyed the Biz experience overall and if it represented value for money for you then who is to argue 👍🏻😊. BTW I’m flying soon from Manila to Frankfurt return, in Biz on the same plane, for 1,997 Euro……..

Thanks very much for the review, it was just what i wanted, as I'm on that flight shortly and was looking for a current food menu. 👍

Oh 😂 my bad then, felt like a memory foam pillow. Have to try it next time 🙈

That sounds like a good deal to upgrade!
Yep 🤩

Amenity kit need to include a moisturiser as well - seems a bit poor. How were the showers in the business class lounge?
Yes, it felt a bit poor as well. I didn't shower in the lounge, so I don't know

They offer dine on demand flexibility. So you can eat whatever and whenever you want
Did you think the food was so good to be worth trying vs just eating before the red eye and turning down most food and getting an extra hour of sleep?

How often did the crew clean the restroom?
I didn't see that. But they were clean when I was there, late in my flight

I liked it :) This travel was during the summer holliday, so the prices insane, even for economy. I had to try EY.
