  • Recently had to take my Nitto NT05R drag radials off my car due to colder weather. They look to be almost toast and I didn't even get 500 miles out of them.

    Let's say you actually get 4 passes almost everytime you go. Occasionally only 3. Now you said your looking at 20 miles each way that's a 40 mile round trip. That's gonna be roughly 450-500 miles right there driving back and forth just to the track. and then add in 43 burnouts and 43 passes, plus all the little trips and hard acceleration and pulls we all do when we are out driving around. Sounds like the tires held up pretty good to me and I'd say you got your money's worth

      3 or 4? I do about 15 passes each time I go to the drag strip.

      Well as I mentioned it was a bit of click bait. However I have heard of plenty of guys that use DRs on the street only and get 3-4k miles out of them. I just thought it was funny that after I counted how many passes I made on them that I realistically got about 200 miles out of them one 1/4 mile at a time. For the next round I'm actually going to be trying a new brand drag radial with new wheels as well. Should be here sometime tomorrow.

      Daily driven hard on my 2000lb lighter c5z.... the tires have hardly even wore after 6 months and 1k miles. I'm rather pleased with my nt05s, especially in the rain for a summer tire

    Bro youre complaining about 500miles but you have a table full of around 50 passes with a burn out before each its gonna wear the tires down alot faster than driving on the street.

      Yes this entire video was meant to be sarcasm. However this season I did got with Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S instead of another set of NT05Rs and I think the MTs perform better overall.

    • @coolwrld302
      @coolwrld302  3 года назад +1

      Well the car is stock power and the DRs are 20s not 17s like most people run on Hellcats. With that being said I did change the second year to MT ET Street S/S (still 20s) and my overall best time is 10.87 again stock power Hellcat.

      Agreed. When you add in the cost of the second set of wheels it was actually about $1300 total. I see I already got a dislike so the clickbait must have worked. All in all though I do think they were decent I mean I don't really think anyone buys DRs expecting to get a ton of miles out of them unless they are only using them on the street.

    You must do some knarly burnouts, I easily get 225 laps out of a pair including burnouts. Thats around 35-40 events with a 40 mile round trip to the track. At that point there is still tread but they dont stick anymore!!

    • @coolwrld302
      @coolwrld302  4 года назад

      Yea I am pretty heavy on the burnouts before each pass. I ran MT ET Street S/S this year and did about 32 passes and they look about the same as the Nittos the main rain channels are just about gone.

      Yea it was a lot of fun was hoping to get in one more day on the Saturday after Thanksgiving but the weather looks like its going to be shitty now. By the way I love your video on the custom exhaust tips. I have been seriously considering doing something like that on mine to do the Go Mango lip. Of course since I'm not sure if I'm going to like it I'm a little reluctant to try it with actual paint. Thinking about maybe using some SuperVinyl or Plastidip just to see if I like the look first. not sure how they would hold up to the heat or carbon build up though plus my tips were ceramic coated when the car was done so not even sure if they would even "stick" right.

    • @coolwrld302
      @coolwrld302  5 лет назад

      @@woodboat3G The price I mentioned in the video was just the tires. The NT05Rs are like $350-$375 per tire depending on where you get them and the Hellcat replica wheels were $210 a piece so all in the drag setup was like $1200 for the setup. Of course my new setup that is sitting in the garage waiting for a video turned out to be just about the same.
