I literally can't digest the fact that in real life, school bullies aren't even questioned for their actions but when someone fights back, they get suspended or punished badly. My message to all victims of any sort of bullying is, please fight back my friend. At least give it a try. Coz all the bullies are the biggest cowards inside!!

Happened to my daughter when she stepped in to protect her friend from the school bully. This guy was a pain to everyone but my daughter kept clear because as a Ninja Freestyle Kickboxer of a great deal of ability she preferred to avoid confrontation.
However one day the bully went too far so my daughter stepped in. The bully thinking this slim girl would be a pushover made the mistake of trying to slap her. Needless to say he ended up on the floor.
He could've left it but later jumped on her from behind. This time she reacted with a more aggressive approach.
I was called to the school to be told of my daughter's "unacceptable" behaviour.
I was furious. Got in touch with other parents and collectively we forced the school to do the right thing and deal with the bully.
This one was a win but all too often schools protect the bully.

Its a movie, not real life. Stopping a bully is encouraged. But make sure you identified the correct bully. Some (girl) bullies are really good at lying (and might convince (idiot) parents that they're the victim).

Yeah, I was suspended from high school as a freshman because I punched a guy who called out to me, “Hey, Queer!” At the time he was sitting in a circle of seniors on the grass during lunch. I didn’t think about what I was doing-I simply knew that punching him (and breaking his nose, as it turned out) was the only way to show the other kids that I wasn’t going to accept the abuse. I was an excellent student and being suspended didn’t affect my grade average. But I do believe that it helped protect me from future bullying.

In 8th grade I had an English teacher. This was around 1982. TINY little blonde woman. Looked a bit like Dolly Parton. All of about four eleven. I will never forget seeing her drag the much taller and rather built! class bully out of class by one ear, with him whimpering all the way after he tried some kind of physical bullying/intimidation and disrespect with her. Turns out she was a higher level black belt. He never pushed her again in any way, and she was suddenly "Yes Ma'am."

Did she have support from the prinicipal, parents, society after the reprimand? In Sweden ther e won't be anyone standing on your side from the parents, principal. Some of the society will suppprt you as the teacher. But one can get fired even if one just rouch the child. Sick.. And therefore it looks at it looks in Sweden. No respect for the teacher's. Of course not everyone disrespects but lot of them without consequences. This topic is on the debates for lot of years but hopefully they will give back the teachers their rights.

From where I’m from, bullying isn’t very common, in fact, once found out the bullies are extremely looked down upon. Bullying was very rare bcs the schools I was in rarely had bullies. My classmates were brutal the last time they found out one of ours were getting bullied, they confronted the person and took her to our adviser for further questioning. After that, they were very wary of that person and made sure whenever they were around, no one would be alone with that person. The teachers are even more strict about bullying, not only will they give punishment to the student for the entire year, the students will be forced to write apology letters everyday, bring a notebook of what wrong they had done and it weighed heavy on their academics bcs theyd be deducted for all their misconduct.
Ngl, maybe its because I was just around very strong people, but the last time I got bullied…..well it was the last time, my friend told me to never cry if it happened again because she’d make sure it won’t.

SK seems like such a depressing place to live in...the older I get the more I realize how nice my own country is. From the school bullying to the ridiculous beauty standards to the manufactured idol industry. Recently, I read that 50 per cent of married men in SK confessed to having extra marital relationships, so the Korean oppas of our dreams are also probably non existent. Then you have the Chaebol families that control the government and run free from the law. Also, my Korean food dreams were shattered when I found out how overly sweet Korean food is...I guess almost all of us are born in places we can survive in. I would probably be dead if I was born there. All the lovely K dramas, music and everything they put out there at this point feels like propaganda and false advertisement about what a wonderful and pleasant country SK is.

i was bullied as a kid, lucky for me the bullies never bothered me ever again till i graduated from high school because i fought back the first time they bullied me. i was the shy, quiet kid in the corner just minding my own, making drawings on my notebook living in my own fantasy world. i don't know but when i get triggered like when someone harasses me, i snap. and anything around me is a weapon, my pen, a book, a lunchbox, whatever i'm holding at the moment you smack my head, it goes straight to the bully's face...it's like i don't care about consequences, even if i die in the process, as long as i smash the face of the bully. bullies and the crazy kid i was don't mix well. LOL! my young days experiences should be a movie.

My son was horribly bullied in middle school and never fought back because that is what we taught him.
Finally, after a particularly bad day, that happened In Front of the school staff, and they still did nothing and tried to blame my son, I had had enough.
I told my son, "Knock them out. Anyone bullying you, take them out. You are taller and stronger than them, hit them 1st, and they will most likely back down. If not, give it your all and go for it."
He started laughing and asked, "Really?" I said, "Yes, I've got your back."
