Bella GETS IT. She gets it how lucky she is to have her parents, and why. She always impresses me with how aware she is.
Bella touches my heart as no other can. You can see that she is really thankful for her mom. It makes me thankful that she is such an awesome mother to all of the children who needed her!❤❤❤ She was meant to be a mom to these 17 kids!❤❤❤
and she seems so genuinely happy like she used to.

I found the first one hard and I still bought her a card and wrote all the things I miss about her. It was only 13 months later when I found my Dad after he unexpectedly but peacefully passed away in his sleep. It's been 3 and a half years since Mum passed from cancer the day after Christmas. It was harder in some ways losing Dad because that meant I was the last one standing which is miraculous because 14 years ago I was given 2 years at the most to live.
Evie in the background saying “Dad, I noticed that you were sad” and hugged him as soon as she saw him, is so precious. Her heart is so big ❤

Jamie is Melinda's bio sister, came to them when she was pregnant, and the Pettits adopted Aurora 😊
When I send out my mother's day wishes, I always take time to give a special thanks to all the single mothers, those that have passed on, the women who have been substitute mothers for someone, and to those that never had a chance to enjoy a relationship with their mother or know them due to adoption/foster situations. I have been VERY lucky to have my mom in my life, my entire life, and as she is getting older, it really helps put things into perspective what time means, what saying I love you means, what sharing days like this means. Loss is very hard, my cousins just lost their mom suddenly and seeing my cousin holding her mom's ashes and sobbing was a sight that truly hurt my heart. All you can do Aaron is feel the feels. It's how you know you're alive and how much you actually loved your mom because it hurts. It's not a fun feeling, but you know where it's coming from. Hug your babies, hug your loved ones, say thank you and I love you and mean it.
I lost my mother in June 17, 2001 on my youngest son’s Father’s Day. It still hurts. My son didn’t want to live cause his grandma was like a another mother. My aunt had to convince him about what his grandma would want for him.Your post is so on the point.Thank u for sharing ❤❤❤❤

To Aaron , I say to every condolences to people around me, and it is piling up, to make the grief as serene as positive. The five steps of grief are insidious and work hard on us, I lost both parents in the last 20 years. I live as much as possible of my motto, and the best is remembering the great souvenirs and keep away what was bad. If you still have reactions based on being responsible one way or another or feeling angry, this is where positive thinking help.

I’m sorry :( my mom’s bday was April 28th. She passed July 7 2014 unexpectedly from massive stroke

Thank you for recognizing everyone that lost their mom! I was truly struggling this Mother’s Day! I still have my mom but I lost my stepmom almost 4yrs ago!And I have to say the 1st Mother’s Day was incredibly hard!And this year was pretty close to that day! I’ve wanted to share so much with her! I wish so much that I could call & just vent till I couldn’t talk anymore!She was always there no matter what & without judgement!! I miss & love her so much!

This Sunday at church as we sat and listened to the hymm. I too lost it. Sitting next to my husband thinking that we both lost our mom's seven months apart in 2021 and early 2022. Made me very emotional.
I think that says a lot of all our special mom's that are in our thoughts and no longer with us.
We are blessed because they nurtured unconditional love and the fact we miss them says they impacted our lives in the utmost special way.
All of the kids are so sweet. Their gifts you can tell were well thought out just for crystal in their own way. Happy Belated Mother’s Day to all the moms out there and to the dads being the mom and the dad. Happy Mother’s Day.
Grief can come in waves.. when I’m overwhelmed with grief I take a shower as no one can see you cry and your eyes don’t end up all puffy and red

Aaron-I completely empathize. My grandmother’s “graduation” anniversary came about a week before Mother’s Day and normally it’s fine but for some reason this year I just kept crying while everyone else was preparing their cinco de mayo feast. I miss her, no matter how long it’s been. I also believe our bodies know our traumas and sometimes that subconsciously hits. My grandma was my best friend. I am usually ok But grief can hit you on any occasion.

I also felt Aaron’s sadness. I lost my own Mom 2 Decembers ago. She was my best friend. I wish I could say it gets better. Just know that you are not alone. I have been watching Crazy Pieces and Crazy Middles for years. I love your family. God bless you all.

Thank you for including Aunts and dog moms i am an aunt and dog mom and i have a mental disability and i dont think ill ever have children but i get forgotten about because i dont have kids. I have been like a 2nd mom to my nieces and nephews since my oldest nephew was born. Once at work someone said happy mothers day to everyone except Chantelle and it really hurt. So thank you for being so inclusive in your mothers day wish Crystal!

You can see how loved you are by all the kids and how much they appreciate you and are thankful for everything you have done and are still doing for them …I lost my mom 3 years ago to cancer and my father 3 months and 1 day after due to suicide …he loved my mom sooo much that he felt he couldn’t live without her …😢…..but watching this video made me cry …seeing some of the kids make you cards brought back memories of when me and my brothers and sisters would make cards for our mom….I really miss my mom sooo much and like Aaron said …it hit him in church with Hannah’s speech and the singing …I kno how he feels because it hits me at different times and I just start crying hard ….😢…..I love watching this video and Crystal you are an amazing Mother!!!! I lost my dad (who adopted me) two years ago and that first time I see a father's day display each year is like a dagger to my heart. Aaron, my heart goes out to you. I lost my mom the day before Mothers Day 2023 to a brain aneurysm. It was sudden and quick so I don't think she suffered. I can relate when u say your good until a celebration, anniversary, holiday or something pops up. Big hugs to you and your family. This was the 1st time in 10 years that I couldn't spend mothers day with my mom as we moved across the country. It was a really hard day as my kids are grown and dont get into the holiday, and my spouse forgot it was mother's day. So to see all of the love you received from your kids made my heart smile. Aaron your mother's is celebrating Mother's Day in heaven with all the other mothers. My mother's day changed forever back in 2013. My oldest son died from complications due to type 1 diabetes. He was 24. He passed on 5/11/13. It was the day before mother's day of that year. This year it fell on the same day. I still have 4 other kids but my mother's day will forever be incomplete. I had a wonderful mother's day very quiet and simple 🥰

Aaron , my mom passed away when I was 23 and now I am 44 . I promise it will get easier as time goes by. She was my best friend and I have so many memories of her. You and Crystal on should make a memory box of her. In mine I put the funeral form and flower. If you don't have that it's ok . See if you can find something she wrote or one of her favorite things and put it in a shadow box. My stepdad gave me a disk of her voice from her voicemail . Maybe make one for Grandpa too. With Father’s Day around the corner, I truly feel Aaron’s pain. I lost my poppy Christmas Day and he raised me. He was the only man I truly knew as a dad in my life. And this year doing his birthday, January 3rd, and holidays already I’m not looking forward to Father’s Day at all. I wish I could give you guys all a big hug. Mourning is so hard. It comes in waves and seems to never be over with. When you think you’re okay something happens that you see you’re not. 😢 it all comes in time. ❤

I feel for Aaron. I lost my brother in August of 23 and lost my mother in January of 24. It's been very hard. I know they aren't hurting anymore. Doesn't stop the pain of missing them. But it gives me comfort to know in my heart they are together. PRAYING FOR YOU Aaron ❤❤❤

I agree, Aaron. I also lost my mom on January 16, 2023 so I know these special times can be hard but with your family, you can get through it. I wish I had a family like yours. I love that portrait of Aurora after my mom passed away. I found mine that I gave to my mom when I was about her age.

Aaron I’m so sorry, it’s been 29 years of Mother’s Days without my Mom and it still hurts so much and I’m not telling you that to upset you but I just want you to embrace the relationship you had and I get thru it by thinking of funny experiences with Mom….like the year my Dad bought her a lawnmower for Mother’s Day….sigh he was so proud of himself….

Happy belated Mother's Day Crystal. I know how you feeling Aaron. I lost my Mom 6 years ago. What used to be a very happy holiday is not for me. I get very depressed a week before and a week after. I know she is in a better place but it is hard because I miss her so much. I was her caregiver for the last 20 years of her life. My husband tried to give some joy by giving me a Dog Mom TShirt. Just know like Alex said you will always be your Mother's baby boy just like I will be my Mom's baby girl. God bless you both.

Oh Aaron, I understand why you cried at church and walked home. My mom passed 7 years ago this July and Mother’s Day is a rough day for me. Most of the day, I’m good and let my foster and adopted kids/adults celebrate me, but by the end of the day, I just can’t hold the tears back anymore. I miss my mother so much. Crystal.
