Hi guys. First of all I don't know if you've noticed that there BTS are singing in Japanese which is a very difficult language to make melodious and with which it is difficult to have a smooth voice... In that I take my hat off to them. Then I don't know why you were told that BTS never talk about relationships - it's not true - especially during their first 2 trilogy which talked respectively about school and youth, and we can't talk about this period without talking about the emotions of love... But it's true that when they don't talk about girls, they make sure in their writing process to give several perspectives of the song in the listener's ear.. And this is the case with this song in particular.
"LET GO" is one of the rare songs that is not written by BTS but which nevertheless express their own feelings . Being intended for their Japanese studio album "Face yourself" in 2018, they called upon songwriters who have a better command of the Japanese language.
"LET GO" and "Outro: TEAR" are two painful songs for them which talk about a difficult period during the idea of giving up everything crossed their mind.
During BTS' 2018 MAMA’s Artist of the Year Speech it was revealed that the group had considered disbanding earlier in 2018 due to the impact of the harsh spotlight and stress from media attention. Seokjin, known in the group as Jin, shared this confession during their speech in honor of being awarded the Daesang:
"The beginning of this year really comes to mind. Earlier this year, we were quite tired mentally. So as we talked together, we considered disbanding. But we really got a hold of ourselves again, and to have been able to achieve such extraordinary things, I think it’s such a relief."
At this time of considered disbandment, BTS released this song, which very much acts as a hypothetical farewell had they truly disbanded. BTS have always been open with their career’s trajectory, and so sharing this truth simply highlights the overlooked realities of their international success.
I also recommend you "Outro: TEAR" interpreted by the rapline only, as much the lyrics as the live, with a quasi-orchestral melody and a very strong rap performance; According to Suga who is at the origin of this track, all the members of BTS cried at the 1st listening of this track.
    Thanks for your reaction

The line about stereo to mono means from 2 to 1. When you listen to music in stereo it comes from both speakers, when you listen in mono, it only comes from one speaker. It's a play on words about being with you then without you.

ARMY! Let Go is not about BTS’ possible breakup, that’s just a fan theory and never publicly stated by BTS/BigHit. BTS members didn’t even write or produce the song, see album credits. Only Outro:Tear was song Suga mentioned his verses were about possible breakup. PLEASE do research and if it didn’t come from BTS/BigHit or credible public source than consider false.💜

Agree - we're doing the songwriters a disservice by crediting BTS. Understandable, however, since the boys are great lyricists.

    • @borat8745
      @borat8745 3 года назад +5

@@GG-0215 Yep! Since the song wasn’t written by BTS or their in-house team and was on Face Yourself album which is related to the Love Yourself series, the songwriters most likely used the theme of these trilogies of Love, Loss and Self-Love as the inspiration for ‘Let Go’. It’s great ARMY have their own interpretations but just don’t think it’s a good idea to claim it as the truth, because from a logical standpoint the theme of the LY trilogies makes the most sense for the inspiration and lyrics of ‘Let Go’ by the songwriters.

Yeah, when it says "Stage Mix" in the title, it's someone edit of multiple performances into one. There's a lot of them for different songs. I don't really recommend watching these as your introduction to their song and performance. Kinda ruins the live feeling since it's one audio with different videos on it and kinda inconsistent sometimes. These are fun when you know the song and performances, but I'd suggest sticking to normal videos :)

BTS definitely has songs about romantic relationships! Those just don't make up their entire discography. They sing about many different types of love for different things whether it be towards each other or themselves or army or friends or significant others or performing or music or photography or anything really. They have songs about falling in and out of love and the many phases in between. And they also have lots songs that aren't about love. I guess you've been mislead, but maybe it's because many people assume every song a "boyband" releases is a lovesong for a girl, so ARMY like to let them know that isn't the case :D

It’s neither true or false since we don’t really know the story behind it. All of their songs are opened for interpretation so we can interpret to whatever is relatable to us. People who don’t know BTS might think it’s a love song. For example, fans have a theory that Spring Day is about the tragedy even though BTS didn’t admit it until recently in an article.

Your idea of the song being about letting go their past self is actually probably correct. It is in fact a 'love' or 'breakup song' but in BTS' case songs can mean or represent so many different things. This is a Japanese song and the lyrics weren't written by the members themselves so the brilliant writers may have had a broken romantic relationship in mind but it is important to note that this song was placed on the Japanese album 'Face Yourself' which ties into the Love Yourself series. As you know that series is about falling madly in love and burying your true self for that love then watching the love fall apart due to the loss of your true self and then realizing that true love starts from within. Face Yourself came out right before Love Yourself: Tear so a piece of it is in that zone where the love just starts to fall apart. RM has described the songs on the albums especially Tear as being about 'me and another person' or between 'me and myself'. So while thinking of it as a relationship song is correct, given the context of the albums which go between BTS singing about a version of themselves that they became that stifled their true self due to fame (persona vs shadow), BTS and Army relationship which can be super positive or a little tiny bit toxic and a romantic relationship that falls apart because it's built on a fake version of the self, the whole singing about past self is perfectly correct. Especially with its placement towards the end of the album.

There was an earlier period where BTS did a number of relationship based songs, many oriented at the Japanese audience. I would say "love" songs today tend to be about ARMY and are more about inclusive love as opposed to some of the more painful breaking up or aspiring from the outside love songs of younger BTS.

It isn’t really a goodbye between BTS and Armys.💜..In the lyrics it says ["We can't return to these days"] & ["I'll wait, lets start over, so that in the future, I can meet you again with a smile"]..I took it as they were becoming more mature.💜..

The black outfits is older, the colorful from 2019 I believe.

BTS songs are often about relationships....sometimes love relationships but usually not or only on the surface (but not never just not at often and not so much presently) but relationships between the members, or friends or with ARMY and with themselves (old, current etc) are all very common. This is one of their Japanese songs and was not actually written by BTS themselves. BTS writes or co-writes most of their own songs but they do work with other song writers sometimes. Dynamite was also not written by them but sent to them with the intention that they would rework it and add Korean verses and parts etc however BTS liked it the way it was and felt it was something the fans and the world needed at that part of the pandemic and things that were happening and so they decided to release it as a single in English just the way it was sent to them. I know a lot of people are saying it is better not to watch a stage mix for the first reaction. I don't mind it as they take the audio from one performance and use it with the different visuals and is also a good way to get around copyright issues that might come from watching one performance but it is a different feel than watching one performance.

Apparently, they wrote this song when they were considering splitting up as a group in 2018. It was a very challenging period of their career, and they surmounted strife and obstacles, emerging from it stronger. Note: Here, the song is being sung in Japanese, not their native Korean.
About JHope, you need to listen to his solo songs to appreciate his unique tone. These are Boy meets Evil, Mama, Just Dance, EGO. Also songs like OUTRO: TEAR. This last one is top form passionate rapper JHope. Unforgettable!!! And from MOTS 7 album, UGH! Go for it!

That’s just a fan theory. BTS or their in house writers/production team Did Not write or produce Let Go. Songwriters are Hiro, Jun, SUNNY BOY, UTA and Produced by UTA. Since the song was on Face Yourself which is related to the Love Yourself series, the songwriters most likely used the theme of these trilogies of Love, Loss and Self-Love as the inspiration for ‘Let Go’. It’s great ARMY have their own interpretations, but from a logical standpoint the theme of the trilogies makes the most sense for the inspiration by the songwriters.

a THEORY for this song is that it was made during a time when BTS was considering disbanding so take that as you will. Also BTS do have songs about girls idk if someone told you that NONE of their songs are about relationships. It’s just that most of the songs that you would THINK would be about relationships 99% of the time aren’t.

I was ARMY when they signed another 7 year contract with BigHit (a year+ early), when Jin gave his notorious speech about their conflict about whether to sign, and when SUGA spoke about using his verse in Outro:Tear to talk about his feelings during that time of possible breakup. The only time I have heard that Let Go might be part of that story is this week. I don't know where this info is coming from. Can anyone site a Vlive or interview, etc?
The lyrics explore a love that has already ended. It's the perfect breakup song. It works for any situation, whether romantic or speculation on how the future would be without their professional contract. The point is, art is open to infinite interpretations, but sometimes fans like to nail it down to one meaning based on the members' personal expression.

    • @borat8745

Ok I feel like there is always confusion about this. So BTS do write love song about relationships BUT they are not about there own love lives, they are usually part of a series for example DNA and a lot of the songs on Love yourself HER is the first part of the love yourself series, the series is about thinking you found live in a partner l, realize it’s not healthy then realize they need to live themselves first. So naturally the first album has love songs. They also have normal teenage love songs in the earlier albums like boy in luv. It’s dependent on the song and album. The main thing to know is that they do not right song directly about there love lives, so a lot of there songs are about members or army.

Stereo means multiple sound channels while mono is a single sound channel, so stereo to mono means from several to one. Also, the song just came out in 2018, around the same time as Outro: Tear, and they have specifically stated that that song is about when they almost split up in the beginning of 2018. I also could have sworn that I saw a clip of J-Hope saying that JK almost left the group at that time because he was having a hard time but I can't find that clip. Still the lyrics make it pretty clear that this is a break up song, just like Outro: Tear is. Outro:Tear, though is about the sheer pain of an unpleasant and unwanted break up. At the very end of the choreo, JK walks away from the rest of the group, although it's difficult to see in this video.. Personally, I think this song is about JK's feelings, for the most part, while Outro: Tear is about how the other members felt, at least when they first started talking about splitting up. Whatever it's about to them, it's a beautiful song, like most of their Japanese ballads.

It's about a relationship (any type of relationship). Fans tend to always say that it's not about a romantic relationship but then again, it's just a theory. No one has confirmed it yet. So their songs are open to interpretation as long as you can relate to it in your own way. I dunno why fans tend to be defensive about these type of songs. Maybe because they don't want to portray the boys as a typical boyband that always sing songs about relationships.
