We welcome you! Many of us have never visited WA...and believe this makes sense. *from a Michigan view. Everyone else around the lake is probably also as excited - Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, to name a few feeders we'll give ya. May Washington get blessed with a pound of flesh and a heavy bag of cash.
Although I've lived in Oregon for 22 years, I spent 10 1/2 years west of Seattle while I was growing up. I am loyal to all the Seattle teams first, then the rest of Washington! I will sorely miss the Apple Cup!
The eventual loss of regionality will degrade rivalries and, ultimately, collegiate fandom. Idk how this isn't the beginning of the end of college football. There was always a discrepancy between regions and the amount/level of talent they produced (i.e. the South worships 'ball), but the shift in conference power (and media attention) to "SEC & everybody else" has effectively consolidated CFB talent to one conference, making it even harder to lure top talent outside of the SEC. Clearly this move will benefit UW et al. as they will be receiving B1G exposure, but for Cal, OSU, Stanford, and WSU it will be horrible. Any team that benefitted from the exposure gained from playing tougher opponents will be worse off; how easy will it be to schedule interconference games against conferences with 20 teams (without increasing season length)?
This is great news
I'm super excited for this season. We finally get to showcase the talent we have in Seattle with the alliance of the Big 10 Conference!!
I'm excited. A program like Washington deserves to be in the best conference.

We finally got out of that horrible, weak and outdated Conference and into real Big boy football

Agree, but this was probably inevitable. Now for an outpost in the South, like Miami.
Have fun playing Rutgers Maryland Indiana Illinois 😂😂😂
