Wow! I was 25 (1983) when this song broke out in East Oakland, CA. There was this club called Silks and the entire building would be on the floors and walls dancing to this jamm. I feel it right now (22 sep 13). Thanks for sharing
I bet they did!! I recently heard this on Sirius for the 1st time. & I got to moving 2 the beat while driving. The only songs I knew from D Train @ the time were Keep On & You're The Only One For Me. I added this to my playlist, & it instantly became my favorite song from. Played it while taking a road trip & everyone got to dancing.
Hubert Eves III and D-Train... WOW!!!!!!!! Names that changed the radio music... The First time I've heard You're the one for me, the 12" on radio here in Brazil... ...Radio Jovem Pan 2, I remember were I was... ...Kool & The Gang, Change, Sisters Sledge, Shalamar, Whispers, Tavares, Skyy, Chi-Lites, Ricky James, Gary's Gang, One Way, Fatback and so so many names were shaking and breaking... But when those claps and synth riffs one at the left, other at the right started... ...we (me and my cousin Paulo) took about 30 seconds to get back to reality... We couldn't even look to each other, stuck to that song comming from the speakers... Since then, D-Train voice timbre moves me... ...these synth timbres moves me. GREAT arrnge, song, sound, vocals, backing, hooks, WOW... So beautiful and full of energy...
Back in the day it was all about You’re The One For Me, Keep on, Music, Walk On By. I came to this one late - but I now think it’s my favourite of all of them!
James D-Train Williams was tight cat. Awesome vocals. Never missed any of his albums back in the day. RIP Hubert Eaves. Thank you for the gift of music.
As a kid from the 80s I don't understand how I could have missed out on D-Train!?! This is just a splendid track, both musically and in terms of message.
Have most of their albums on vinyl. Came to NYC from Sweden in the early eighties and listened a lot to WBLS, which was a kind of a revival of how good Music could be. D-train was very much a part of this.
Best Band from the 80's !!! Fi-End quality of the time when the mono was the standard in the Eastern Europe. We loved this stuff... Greatings form Hungary, thank you for good old days!!!

my favorite d-train song and the best version...they really knew how to make an extended version of song back then. Prince is the last of the great extended version artist.
My favorite song to locking to. Popping and locking are 2 different dances but breaking, popping, and locking are part of the same dance scenes when it comes to competition.
d train killed it
Absolute slammer! Who misses the groove of the 80's and this class act that is as fresh today as back then. Masters!!
I love this song......all this last 40 years
Always a pleasure 🎛🎧

Almost dancing over my table!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's an musical beauty avalanche!!!!!!!!
D Train was really on to something. He had such a polish yet heavy sound for the 80s. Fanatastic vocals and harmonies. He's truly an r&b pioneer
he had the touch for real. Underatted is the word.
