The writers really introduced two characters and elevated this show to a hundred. Book 2 is my favorite Avatar universe season, almost every episode is an absolute banger. Excited to watch Lindsay's reaction to this season!!!
Random but this is probably the only reaction channel in all my years of watching reactors where I don't mind it if one of the reactors has already seen the show. Carson does such a good job of not spoiling and enjoying the show again, while Lindsay's reactions are just so good to see fo rthe firs ttime.
The queen is here ! No but seriously, I love Azula, her VA is fantastic and even though the character is obviously evil, she has undeniable charisma and presence. I've read that in the first draft of the episode, Azula straight up killed the capitain of the ship after he messed up at the end, but they ended up not including it cause... Well, it was still a kid's show. I really wanna thank you for your release schedule. 2 episodes a week is just enough to have the story move at a good pace without cutting out time to breathe and think things through.
In feudal Japan, the topknot represented loyalty and fealty to the lord. Samurai who became lordless, either by the death of the lord or by leaving their service, cut their topknot to signify that they were lordless. Zuko and Iroh are essentially renouncing their ties to the Fire Nation by cutting their topknots, and it also serves to help them blend in while hiding in the Earth Kingdom.
Season 2 is where Avatar gets to a whole different level in terms of quality. It feels like the creators really felt validated with the success of the first season they went all in with the most innovative and interesting types of ideas that you could probably pack into a 20ish minutes children cartoon.
But, he's not entirely wrong. Katara and the General are both right even though their methods are very different. If there is a chance they could end the war in a few weeks they should explore that option. Attacking Aang was crazy. They should have had a secret talk with Sokka and Katara to trick Aang there was a danger, and then see if Katara and Sokka could try to reason with him.
@IamnotJohnFord yes he isn't wrong but if Aang decided to go with them and face the Ozai before he was prepared and ended up dying, then the world wouldn't have stood a chance regardless and the world would have despaired as they did when Aang disappeared. It wasn't well planned, and it's clear the king was more power-hungry than anything with his statements about weilding the avatar state and its power. Not to mention, sure, they had the earth soldiers, but what about all the other benders who could have been recruited to help in the effort? Katara also wouldn't have agreed to this plan given their first interaction with him saying that Aang wouldn't need to learn all the 4 elements even after all they've been through talking to Roku and finding out what is at stake.
The actor who voices general Fong in this episode, Daniel Dae Kim has made several appearances in the Avatarverse, most recently he appeared as firelord Ozai in the Netflix version.
Two other early 2000s cartoons that were airing the same time as A:TLA that I'd recommend you guys check out are Ben 10 & Teen Titans!! (Especially Teen Titans; fantastic series.)
Fun fact about natural lightning IRL on Earth: Lightning is hotter than the SUN ITSELF on the surface level. Iroh REDIRECTED energy that is HOTTER THAN THE SUN.
Both the general and katara are have quite strong argument, but i still prefer Katara. Aang isn't ready with just mastering air bending and just competent the basic of water bending. He need to master all elements + Avatar state
I hate to be that person but I don't know if I've missed an update on boruto or what, but are you going to react to boruto from where you left off? I think I've been waiting for it since forever😭

@@austinseaman1913
It's a long long way to the Ba Sing Se
But the girls in the city they look prettyy~
It's my favorite season of avatar as well
Toph and Azula
“She is a Boruto character”
Don’t insult her like that 😂
She is way too good for that😂
I think I vomited a bit in my mouth at hearing that name mentioned in comparison with this show....
Idk if you noticed or mentioned it but Azula is the firebender from the intro so she is literally the first firebender you see as a watcher
She’s also in season 1 when you see Iroh turn away from the agniki with zuko and his father
@@austinseaman1913 Yep. Smirkin' as her bro's face gets burned.

Azula is the primary reason why I grew to love villains so much in whatever media I consume.
Azula my queen 😍
Azula my goddess.
The best villain in the series appeared.. AZULA
17:15 you did it! You distilled their whole sibling dynamic into a couple of sentences

The earth general guilt-tripping a literal child with the deaths of soldiers is really really fucked up when you think about it.

Oh, poor man. Going from a great show to a shit show at netflix :/
@@VG-fk6nkOpinions are mixed but I found Daniel Dae Kim very watchable :D
I have a complaint! Where's Lindsey's bucket hat?
the hair bun symbolizes royalty they cut it to hide their identity
It's crazy how in this episode we see plot details being setup which get a huge payoff in the arc finale
they give you coca leaf tea when you're climbing Machu Picchu

umm, akshually, Aang has not mastered waterbending, as Katara will continue to teach him as Pakku said
Azula was supposed to kill the Captain with a lightning blast, after he messed up her ambush, but Nickelodeon wouldn't allow it.
Iroh is just the best. There's no competition. He's the best.
No exceptions.
Ah yes the introduction of "Evil Daphne"
Fun fact about natural lightning IRL on Earth:

Iroh REDIRECTED energy that is HOTTER THAN THE SUN.
I’m ready to cry with you guys. Book 2 always brings a lot of tears. I’ll tell you at the mean time what’s my favorite scene from the entire show.❤
bro just threw his niece in the ocean
In an early draft Azula was supposed to incinerate that guy on the spot.
I want to find my twin soul too , to make videos reacting of this series 😢
love your reactions!
