When in OEM interface , it can not by touch screen, only by NTG controller, only android menu can work via touch screen.

@@JohnJay_Stuttgart When in Carplay mode, that is using Android 's MIC, The Android screen built-in Microphone. When you using the Carplay mode (not using OEM functions), the sound go via AUX, thus, in that time, that is factory car speaker to offer the sound.

@@JohnJay_Stuttgart In Carplay mode, it use Android's MIC (Built-in or External are ok, when you use external MIC, you need to hook the external MIC kit to MIC-IN connector). About the sound, when you using Carplay, the sound work via AUX, thus, the sound (for calls) come from the factory speakers.

@@HifimaxOfficial thanks for your time and reply, does the sound quality get bad with that android mic? With previous android units I’ve used there was always background noise and sounds quality issues that you just don’t get with the OEM.
Also with the standard OEM screen outside of Apple CarPlay, will it use the original built in Mercedes mic or still use the android ?

according we test, it don't have noise, android screen with built-in MIC, also you can hook an external mic to it, install the external mic near to the driver , then ok. about the MMI Carplay box for Mercedes (using OEM display), it can use Mercedes OEM microphone . @@SammyS1836
