Hey man, glad you picked up Arma! Here’s some quick tips that might or might not help with your success: 1. Your position will determine wether you kill or get killed. If you’re sitting somewhere the enemy know there’s been gunfire from or attacking an objective from the same direction as a bunch of teammates that are already engaging the enemy, you’ll be much more likely to get spotted and shot because the enemy already knows where to look. Finding a position where the enemy hasn’t been attacked from yet is how you can really rack up some kills. 2. BRING MORE THAN 2 BANDAGES. Each part of your body that gets hit with the bleeding effect will need a bandage or tourniquet; bandages are for light bleeding and tourniquets are for heavy bleeding. The med kit can restore injuries, so it can also be nice to bring in but isn’t necessary. You also need saline bags to restore blood loss. It’s nice to have extra med supplies to heal teammates but I find that usually if you get shot a lot you’ll need more than 2 bandages for yourself anyways. I usually bring in at least 5 bandages, 2-3 saline bags, and 5 morphine for pain relief. 3. Try to focus on one role. Whether that be a support role with a machine gun or sniper rifle or an assault role with a rifle, rocket launcher, and grenades, just stick to one play style till you’re comfortable with the controls and mechanics of the game. I’d say that the controls are probably the most difficult aspect and they’ll require some time, but once you get more comfortable with the controls you’ll find that the game gives the player a lot of freedom. For example there are actually more stances than the standard stand-crouch-crawl. If you’re behind a fence and standing leaves you too exposed but you can’t shoot over the fence when you’re crouched, you can adjust your stance so that you’re some height between standing and crouching. Most of the time this can leave you just tall enough to stick your gun over the fence, but not any taller so as to minimize the amount of your body that you’re exposing to the enemy. There’s actually a similar mechanic with leaning as well, where you can lean a very small amount or the full amount! All of this is just to say that as you get more comfortable with the controls you’ll find probably find yourself unlocking really useful features that can help you tremendously, so just be patient and make the game as easy on yourself as it need it to be. 4. Sometimes platoon chat can get annoying with people arguing and constantly talking over it. If it does, just open your radio and change the platoon chat channel. You can always change it back when you need to use it. Just remember that you might occasionally miss some information that could save you. 5. Team killing happens all the time! No matter how long you play this game it’s inevitable that you’re gonna accidentally team kill someone or get team killed. If it’s a simple accident then try not to worry to much about it.
It is a very a basic version of arma tho . fláshpoint on PS3 is probably a better game for modern weapons and being able to see in the dark.this game's whole ark seems to be they are impressed with themselves for flare's.looking at arma on pc it's hard to see why they came to the decision to go with 80s basic gear and ten bullets to kill a player .it's cheap looking and probably should have been called arma regurge

Stick with it. Trust me you will be glad you did. i came from Day Z on ps4/ps5 so i knew what i was getting myself into. YOU WILL BE GLAD you stuck with it.
I had the same experience and impression when I first played the multiplayer games, the game can be really boring or frustrating at first when you are clueless and had no one to play with, but things started to be more exciting after tagging along with a few team members. The game allows you to make your own "Call of Duty" like mission and objectives, writing your own stories, and fulfilling new duties to contribute much in your war effort. I've realized that the game is not about who has the fastest reflexes, but it heavily emphasizes more in teamwork/organization and playing it smart. Doing basic roles such as driving for your teammates, delivering supplies, conducting recon missions, and fortifying bases all do contribute in the long term progression.
@@TheBlackSnake88 you should definetly check out the "gamemaster" and "Combat ops everon" gamemodes, you can find them in the scenario button on the main menu, they can be played both singleplayer or online. Gamemaster is a free form editor, probably the best sandbox currently on consoles although i find it a bit worse then arma 3 zeus. Combat ops is a coop gamemode where you play as the resistence and do predefined missions against soviet AI. In singleplayer the AI is a lot smarter using smoke and trying to help their wounded comrades.
at night if you want to use ya flashlight use the red light filter by equipping it then hold triangle then inspect it near the top it should say change colour.only do this at night as you cant tell if its changed in daylight. the red filter will allow you to see better and it wont be as visable as a normal light to the enemy.
I got 70hrs on this game & I did not know that ! I already got the kill 5 people at night by just spraying my m60 in the dark anywhere I hear gunshots coming from but ty bro
Your cam pic bottom right, you could make smaller. You only take up half the frame the rest is just your room, that way we could see more of the game and you inventory when you select it.
After my first game I wasn't also sure if I should play this. I wasn't sure if it's just a boring game or if I should give it another try. Second game changed everything! Now I played about 10 games and it's 100% my favourite game right now. Love it!!
Its a great game, and majority of the time these matches last hours on end so sometimes you won’t even see out the match but any help the team gets counts, and each player is a small part of the battlefield that is for a larger goal!

There is currently a meme or thing going on with new American Players (Team) Running around with so much ammo and supplies and weapons they could last for 3 people. Often they die to the average Soviet soldier with the Basic Kit. On Reddit there are many Posts about it. But don’t worry everyone Starts once 😂
7 mags is all you need stop spraying an praying lol 7 mags , 4 grenades ,4 bandages ,4 morphine . You don’t need a load out at the start it’s another huge mistake by the cod players lol

I have a Pro tip for you, for you question about teamplay with friends or randoms that become friends :) You allready picked up the RADIO BACKPACK, use it anywhere on the map and drop it on the ground. Than you can deploy it and your whole team can SPAWN or TELEPORT to it!! so you can be more efficiency! i dont know the PS key for bringing up the GROUP MENU, there you can create your group and join others. Plz, use the backpack so everybody knows how to be quicker on the capture point. When i see you on a DX1 community server, i can explain you a lot mechanics :) cya later soldier! have fun and make new friends!
Nice video, new to game too. Trying to get through the tutorial to get the basics down before getting into match play. Really appreciated your experience, encouraged me to stick with the game. Good to see other players are friendly, in COD hardly anyone talks anymore .
This game is only boring to those with TikTok brain that need a new shiny flash on the screen every 8 seconds to refresh their attention span. Been playing this game since 2002ish during the operation flashpoint days before they sold that name to another developer and came up with Arma. no other game like it. At all.

Try joining Task Force Hotel Kilo PvE server(Note:It’s usually full you have to be patient and wait for a spot to be open). They are very organised and well coordinated. They do team briefing before mission and debriefing after mission. They are helpful and welcoming to new players. You just need to respect everyone in server and follow their server rules. They also kick team killers right away.
Arma has taught people how to travel using the map and their surroundings. At night, travel with a group and try to spot where the shots coming from or tracers
He wasn't in a squad channel reason they couldn't hear him lol It was the same experience for me but once you get a better understanding the game be wholesome definitely this is my COD replacement!
Just keep at it learning things especially learning to navigate and find where you are and the rest will come with experience. And don’t be afraid to ask people questions, majority of the time they will be willing to help out
Hey heres a tip: Dont be a cod player and LARP as a Special Operations soldier. The Big bag with an M60 and an M14 and boxes on boxes of ammunition and explosives not only drains the supplies extremely quickly (Your experienced team mates will hate you), and it also is incredibly heavy and slow. Its a very massive issue with new players, because the supplies are not infinate and they get drained super quickly costing bases and even games.
U should try checking the loadout tents before setting out from base. Ik this video is a couple days old. I just don't know if u have found instruction. Just hoping that u will keep up the gameplay
as a long time arma, dayz, squad, tarkov, and hll player... patience, trigger discipline, strategy, and a wide flank all REALLY pay off. Something not as relevant in casual arcade fps games. also, no paid promo cosmetic battle pass, pay wall progression bs which i despise. As for reforger, haven't played it myself but its really cool to know console players are getting a taste of these type of games, finally!
I JUST BOUGHT THIS GAME AS WELL. I'VE SEEN IT ON RUclips ‼️ it's actually really fun once you learn to controls I can tell. I learned a little bit about the control. Some of the game is really buggy though. ARE YOU ON PLAYSTATION OR PC ⁉️⁉️⁉️
The fact the map, which is still quite big, is much smaller than the last 3 games, makes it way less boring. The map is a great size for 48-100 players with vehicles plus AI, so it's never been boring if you knew what you were doing, but it's even less boring and active, without it being constant chaos.
Man, the culture shock is real. Your first video I watched was you getting into Squad. Both Squad and Reforger are much more accessible than Arma 3, but I'm amazed at how big the gap still apparently is to COD. I have never played COD or other arcade shooters, so I'm always bemused by arcade players' confusion. I get it though -- milsim games have a lot more commands, require a lot more things to be done manually, are more complex/clunky, and generally don't have a super streamlined new player intake/tutorial pipeline. So each game's community organically builds these subcultures around how people stumble into learning the game. Hats off to you for tackling these new-to-you games with higher learning curves. I don't know what has died about COD (that you alluded to here), but I hope the alternatives to COD are sufficiently engaging to capture some of the arcade shooter player diaspora. In principle, I prefer for games to challenge players with depth of gameplay, though in games with smaller budgets than COD (pretty much everything else?) that can come with more clunkiness and jank than a AAA player might tolerate. Hopefully there's more value for you in that additional complexity than there is turn-off in the clunkiness. :D
Me no longer liking COD came from them not making a military game any longer… it’s just a shooter with wacky guns and characters now, more suited to kids… Their is a single player mission called Hunting Party for one of the old CODs, they storm a hospital. That was the reason I enjoyed that game. It’s on RUclips I’m sure
I almost bought this last night but i forgot because there was a massive flat circle above my house i got 2 of them on camera and I to zoom in as far as my phone will go , never seen anything like that before lol , is this game worth getting?
So I'm an Xbox player who's been playing this since it's release in 2022, when it first came out it was bare bones tho it didn't stop me from usin the whole trial period (8 hours) for a single match before I bought it. I do recommend for newer players to go into scenarios and do training as it will help you learn the basics of the game which will help in conflict (I never did that when I started and boy was it insane tryna figure stuff out) also running supplies is fine cuz it is a SUPER important thing for ppl to do since a match basically depends on supplies but it can get boring if it's not something you truly enjoy. You don't necessarily need a group of friends, going solo for "special operations" like going behind enemy lines to disrupt supply routes, sniping enemy at bases, relaying enemy movements (like if they're bringing a BTR or a MI-8 is leaving their main/any base) is always helpful info, my friends don't play this game much anymore so I'm solo BUT those random people on your team? It's always a blast to meet someone new roll out with em, just to watch em die and either never see em again or meet up and do what you did before again it's an amazing feeling. Now both PC and Xbox do have mods so I personally don't play vanilla anymore and hopefully PlayStation will get them too so you get a wider experience, but with the upcoming update 1.3 vanilla will be getting: Mortars, LAV-25, BRDM-2, Rocket Pod Heli's, and destructible buildings. The ARMA Reforger community is a great community who will actually help unlike most communities with newer players (most of the time there's always a few ppl who don't care) just ask if you have any other questions Ik I'll be more than glad to answer em and there might be others who will too
The only thing I don't like is that the enemy ai has superhuman abilities. They don't miss shots,see you from anywhere in pitch black darkness. Even if you crawl in the grass. They always see you.
@@TheBlackSnake88 I went through the tutorial twice or maybe 3 times. The play the 6 person scenario on Arland to get used to the mechanics. You'll die a lot but you get comfortable using the map, using cover, and not freaking out in gun fights.
@@TheBlackSnake88you could try modded servers like darkgru or wcs but I would recommend wcs if you have the chance. There is NVGs in that game and more loadouts options to pick.

This game has the worst menu/controller layout Ive EVER seen in a game in my life on PS5. The functions don't work half the time. Nothing does what you want it to! It's very aggravating and needs to be fixed ASAP!
Switch to the 'legacy' control layout in the settings under the controllers (last) tab. This was the old layout since the official launch out of early access until the present update. I play on xbox, so I'm not sure if PS can switch. Anyways, all of us on Xbox feel the new 'updated' layout is janky. Also, crank down the gamma and adjust black level to see at night (everyone does this).
i thought the same when it came out on xbox, now i navigate that shit like its natural haha give it a month or two man you'll be doing your full loadout in sceonds
I’ve been learning the game on series x. Haven’t tried the mods yet, but I’m having fun with it so far. The free roam freedom feeling is great. I’m alone wolf type so I just try to snipe and help teams. The graphics are good enough for me. I have no issues with this department. Ofcourse, that’s because console is the only option I currently have. I’m sure the game looks amazing on PC. I’m the type that no matter how a game may seem at first, I always withhold my judgment until I fully master it with tons of hrs of gameplay. I’ve got a long way to go with this one but so far I’m very impressed.

I get it. It's milsim. It's NOT Cod or BF. But every YT video I've watched with good players are mostly snipers. Again, I can understand the lure of these types of games but to me it's just a walking simulator with the occasional firefight.
The occasional fire fight? The game is constant fire fights for points. A sniper can't take an objective. The game would never end if all people did was snipe. You have to know how to read the map and listen to comms to be effective . This " walking simulator" literally spawns you jeeps and trucks at any point you build an automobile spawn, you also have transport helis, and not to mention the map is riddle with civilian vehicles. Sadly the youtubers you are watching are hardly playing the game.
It CAN be boring if you don't go out and make the action happen. I like Arland with big player counts because you really don't have to go far for a fight. If you can get some decent people together its probably the most fun game out right now for shooters. What I like about it is the game does give you the freedom to do what you want.

I get it, no city lights ect.. But no moon? No stars? No light what so ever? ...it's just wild and again a huge disadvantage for those who can't adjust the black levels or unaware they can. All I'm saying.
It actually launched simultaneously on pc and Xbox around 2 years ago. The vanilla of this game doesn’t even scratch the surface of its potential. Hopefully ps5 will eventually get mod support like Xbox and pc 🤞🤌
Your first game started at night?? lol, they was wrong for that😂😂😂 This is a fun game but you have to be patient and learn it and forget practically everything you do in everything else, battlefield included. It’s still can’t be buggy and there’s a ton of new PS5 team killers which is making it chaotic right now, but it will level out soon.
PC version is amazing bro. So many mods. I have been trench fighting as a russian PKM machinegunner is Ukraine for months. The helis are amazing aswell. Being a pilot is super fun. Dropping people in hot lz's, so sick.
I see where some people guided you for that FPS replacement but my best suggestion for you is “INSURGENCY SANDSTORM”, since you said you came from COD & the maps are a bit smaller in a way. The gameplay is a blend between arcady/Tactical but more tactical & reason I said acrady due to the movement sometimes but the gun gameplay is extremely addictive & the game mode I recommend for a player like you is “Domination” you spawn in immediately after every death & every weapon is available to you w/customization. Hopefully you give it a shot & from my 5 year experience within that game, I see a lot of COD players transitioning to that game instead. Oh yea forgot to mention.. the TTK for insurgency is the best hands down, you’ll see what I mean when you play it or if you play it. Arma is a bit of a big big leap for someone at your caliber since you’re coming from COD & ARMA is very very in depth & not saying you don’t understand it which i’m sure you do but it’s too much for someone just getting into the “milsim” world of gaming, Insurgency or Hell Let Loose is a good start but I strongly recommend Insurgency.
While i agree with what you said, it will only take time to learn things, about 2 weeks ago i started and have already learnt so much to the game just from playing and asking people, the issue i find with Insurgency and HLL is that a normal server its actually rare people use a mic, where as Arma pretty much everyone does and its a much more immersive game

@ out the storage box add the grenade launcher attachment to ur weapons system, first add a backpack to ur inventory then go and add flare ammo and a grenade launcher attachment so u can carry this system bc its heavy but lights up literally everything
Don't stop at vanilla in this game. modding is so simple in this game that it is basically non existent. just load the server, it loads the mods. most Milsims have public servers that can really immerse/teach you. (not alot of mutes / more teamwork) 15th MEU realism unit comes out of winter stand-down Sunday (1/12) so the Public Server is bound to get some people on it soon. Everything is mod-able from modern day equipment to Tarkov-like servers and RP life type stuff. [A lot of good communities out there.] Keep up the vids! good selection on games and a good attitude about things! Hope I see ya out there!
Take a look at some tutorial videos there are lots of them. looking forward to the next video if you can stick with it. The learning curve is quite steep.

I'm on ps5 and changed to legacy controls. Also i always just make my own squad change the name to whatever and roll with other people. When you do this everyone will know where we are. As long as i stay alive 😂

20yrs Arma been going and no it’s not a replacement for cod as it’s a sim not a run an gun like cod . To be honest I can’t wait for all the cod players to get bottled and leave Arma to those that want to play a mil sim ..
@ I’ve played cod since very 1st cod , after warzone 1 it went downhill and stopped playing it . Played Arma 3 on pc for awhile , then dayz while waiting for Arma Reforger . Arma Reforger came out on Xbox same time it came out on PC. Playstation is the only one who just now got the game. Xbox and PC players have been playing it for almost 3 years now. Plus Xbox also has the mods like the PC players as well and Playstation doesn't yet. I'm actually surprised Playstation outsells Xbox, because Xbox has better features where they have early access to a lot of games same as PC, then there's Game Pass which that speaks for itself. Glad Playstation finally gets to join in on the fun though.

some great tips there. What I struggle with is knowing if I'm shooting enemies or friendlies...i still have no idea how to tell

Holding L1 is for the radio. You have to tap L1 to talk to nearly friendly. I recommend doing training first.

So when can other players hear me ? When it shows a lock next to the speaker or when there is no lock on the speaker?
@goloco4371 They can hear you when the lock is on or hold for squad channel. You can also change to a different channel by scrolling left and right.

I had the same experience and impression when I first played the multiplayer games, the game can be really boring or frustrating at first when you are clueless and had no one to play with, but things started to be more exciting after tagging along with a few team members. The game allows you to make your own "Call of Duty" like mission and objectives, writing your own stories, and fulfilling new duties to contribute much in your war effort. I've realized that the game is not about who has the fastest reflexes, but it heavily emphasizes more in teamwork/organization and playing it smart. Doing basic roles such as driving for your teammates, delivering supplies, conducting recon missions, and fortifying bases all do contribute in the long term progression.
Being able to create your own story in a match is such an amazing experience! ⭐️
@@TheBlackSnake88 you should definetly check out the "gamemaster" and "Combat ops everon" gamemodes, you can find them in the scenario button on the main menu, they can be played both singleplayer or online.
Gamemaster is a free form editor, probably the best sandbox currently on consoles although i find it a bit worse then arma 3 zeus.
Combat ops is a coop gamemode where you play as the resistence and do predefined missions against soviet AI. In singleplayer the AI is a lot smarter using smoke and trying to help their wounded comrades.
at night if you want to use ya flashlight use the red light filter by equipping it then hold triangle then inspect it near the top it should say change colour.only do this at night as you cant tell if its changed in daylight. the red filter will allow you to see better and it wont be as visable as a normal light to the enemy.

Can still see the red flashlight pretty easily tbh and doesn’t increase your vision by much at all, best just to not to use it.
Turning HDR off made the game a little brighter for me. Just bright enough to drive and walk without using lights
Your cam pic bottom right, you could make smaller. You only take up half the frame the rest is just your room, that way we could see more of the game and you inventory when you select it.
After my first game I wasn't also sure if I should play this. I wasn't sure if it's just a boring game or if I should give it another try. Second game changed everything! Now I played about 10 games and it's 100% my favourite game right now. Love it!!

Its a great game, and majority of the time these matches last hours on end so sometimes you won’t even see out the match but any help the team gets counts, and each player is a small part of the battlefield that is for a larger goal!

You allready picked up the RADIO BACKPACK, use it anywhere on the map and drop it on the ground. Than you can deploy it and your whole team can SPAWN or TELEPORT to it!! so you can be more efficiency! i dont know the PS key for bringing up the GROUP MENU, there you can create your group and join others. Plz, use the backpack so everybody knows how to be quicker on the capture point.

Try joining Task Force Hotel Kilo PvE server(Note:It’s usually full you have to be patient and wait for a spot to be open). They are very organised and well coordinated. They do team briefing before mission and debriefing after mission. They are helpful and welcoming to new players. You just need to respect everyone in server and follow their server rules. They also kick team killers right away.
Arma has taught people how to travel using the map and their surroundings. At night, travel with a group and try to spot where the shots coming from or tracers
Beeing playing arma for about 10 years now.
The best tip i can give : never be alone. And use common sense.

Hey heres a tip:
Dont be a cod player and LARP as a Special Operations soldier. The Big bag with an M60 and an M14 and boxes on boxes of ammunition and explosives not only drains the supplies extremely quickly (Your experienced team mates will hate you), and it also is incredibly heavy and slow.
Its a very massive issue with new players, because the supplies are not infinate and they get drained super quickly costing bases and even games.
Heck yeah, I just wrapped my head around the supplies! I do want to start running a Loadout for vehicle ambushes! Gotta figure out what works best
the mod support is really where the game shines. ARMA is amazing if you learn it and work together. Comms is key

as a long time arma, dayz, squad, tarkov, and hll player... patience, trigger discipline, strategy, and a wide flank all REALLY pay off. Something not as relevant in casual arcade fps games. also, no paid promo cosmetic battle pass, pay wall progression bs which i despise. As for reforger, haven't played it myself but its really cool to know console players are getting a taste of these type of games, finally!

The fact the map, which is still quite big, is much smaller than the last 3 games, makes it way less boring. The map is a great size for 48-100 players with vehicles plus AI, so it's never been boring if you knew what you were doing, but it's even less boring and active, without it being constant chaos.

Man, the culture shock is real. Your first video I watched was you getting into Squad. Both Squad and Reforger are much more accessible than Arma 3, but I'm amazed at how big the gap still apparently is to COD. I have never played COD or other arcade shooters, so I'm always bemused by arcade players' confusion. I get it though -- milsim games have a lot more commands, require a lot more things to be done manually, are more complex/clunky, and generally don't have a super streamlined new player intake/tutorial pipeline. So each game's community organically builds these subcultures around how people stumble into learning the game.
Hats off to you for tackling these new-to-you games with higher learning curves. I don't know what has died about COD (that you alluded to here), but I hope the alternatives to COD are sufficiently engaging to capture some of the arcade shooter player diaspora. In principle, I prefer for games to challenge players with depth of gameplay, though in games with smaller budgets than COD (pretty much everything else?) that can come with more clunkiness and jank than a AAA player might tolerate.
Hopefully there's more value for you in that additional complexity than there is turn-off in the clunkiness. :D
Me no longer liking COD came from them not making a military game any longer… it’s just a shooter with wacky guns and characters now, more suited to kids… Their is a single player mission called Hunting Party for one of the old CODs, they storm a hospital. That was the reason I enjoyed that game. It’s on RUclips I’m sure

So I'm an Xbox player who's been playing this since it's release in 2022, when it first came out it was bare bones tho it didn't stop me from usin the whole trial period (8 hours) for a single match before I bought it. I do recommend for newer players to go into scenarios and do training as it will help you learn the basics of the game which will help in conflict (I never did that when I started and boy was it insane tryna figure stuff out) also running supplies is fine cuz it is a SUPER important thing for ppl to do since a match basically depends on supplies but it can get boring if it's not something you truly enjoy. You don't necessarily need a group of friends, going solo for "special operations" like going behind enemy lines to disrupt supply routes, sniping enemy at bases, relaying enemy movements (like if they're bringing a BTR or a MI-8 is leaving their main/any base) is always helpful info, my friends don't play this game much anymore so I'm solo BUT those random people on your team? It's always a blast to meet someone new roll out with em, just to watch em die and either never see em again or meet up and do what you did before again it's an amazing feeling. Now both PC and Xbox do have mods so I personally don't play vanilla anymore and hopefully PlayStation will get them too so you get a wider experience, but with the upcoming update 1.3 vanilla will be getting: Mortars, LAV-25, BRDM-2, Rocket Pod Heli's, and destructible buildings. The ARMA Reforger community is a great community who will actually help unlike most communities with newer players (most of the time there's always a few ppl who don't care) just ask if you have any other questions Ik I'll be more than glad to answer em and there might be others who will too
The only thing frustrating about this game is working the back pack menu's and actions. Otherwise its a very good game!

The only thing I don't like is that the enemy ai has superhuman abilities. They don't miss shots,see you from anywhere in pitch black darkness. Even if you crawl in the grass. They always see you.
@@TheBlackSnake88 I went through the tutorial twice or maybe 3 times. The play the 6 person scenario on Arland to get used to the mechanics. You'll die a lot but you get comfortable using the map, using cover, and not freaking out in gun fights.

This game has the worst menu/controller layout Ive EVER seen in a game in my life on PS5. The functions don't work half the time. Nothing does what you want it to! It's very aggravating and needs to be fixed ASAP!

Switch to the 'legacy' control layout in the settings under the controllers (last) tab. This was the old layout since the official launch out of early access until the present update. I play on xbox, so I'm not sure if PS can switch. Anyways, all of us on Xbox feel the new 'updated' layout is janky. Also, crank down the gamma and adjust black level to see at night (everyone does this).

I’ve been learning the game on series x. Haven’t tried the mods yet, but I’m having fun with it so far. The free roam freedom feeling is great. I’m alone wolf type so I just try to snipe and help teams.
The graphics are good enough for me. I have no issues with this department. Ofcourse, that’s because console is the only option I currently have. I’m sure the game looks amazing on PC.
I’m the type that no matter how a game may seem at first, I always withhold my judgment until I fully master it with tons of hrs of gameplay. I’ve got a long way to go with this one but so far I’m very impressed.

I get it. It's milsim. It's NOT Cod or BF. But every YT video I've watched with good players are mostly snipers. Again, I can understand the lure of these types of games but to me it's just a walking simulator with the occasional firefight.
The occasional fire fight? The game is constant fire fights for points. A sniper can't take an objective. The game would never end if all people did was snipe. You have to know how to read the map and listen to comms to be effective . This " walking simulator" literally spawns you jeeps and trucks at any point you build an automobile spawn, you also have transport helis, and not to mention the map is riddle with civilian vehicles. Sadly the youtubers you are watching are hardly playing the game.

It CAN be boring if you don't go out and make the action happen. I like Arland with big player counts because you really don't have to go far for a fight. If you can get some decent people together its probably the most fun game out right now for shooters. What I like about it is the game does give you the freedom to do what you want.

PC version is amazing bro. So many mods. I have been trench fighting as a russian PKM machinegunner is Ukraine for months. The helis are amazing aswell. Being a pilot is super fun. Dropping people in hot lz's, so sick.

It does take some time to get into (It's taken me months) Once you get into it and learn how to play it, it's great.
I see where some people guided you for that FPS replacement but my best suggestion for you is “INSURGENCY SANDSTORM”, since you said you came from COD & the maps are a bit smaller in a way. The gameplay is a blend between arcady/Tactical but more tactical & reason I said acrady due to the movement sometimes but the gun gameplay is extremely addictive & the game mode I recommend for a player like you is “Domination” you spawn in immediately after every death & every weapon is available to you w/customization. Hopefully you give it a shot & from my 5 year experience within that game, I see a lot of COD players transitioning to that game instead. Oh yea forgot to mention.. the TTK for insurgency is the best hands down, you’ll see what I mean when you play it or if you play it. Arma is a bit of a big big leap for someone at your caliber since you’re coming from COD & ARMA is very very in depth & not saying you don’t understand it which i’m sure you do but it’s too much for someone just getting into the “milsim” world of gaming, Insurgency or Hell Let Loose is a good start but I strongly recommend Insurgency.
While i agree with what you said, it will only take time to learn things, about 2 weeks ago i started and have already learnt so much to the game just from playing and asking people, the issue i find with Insurgency and HLL is that a normal server its actually rare people use a mic, where as Arma pretty much everyone does and its a much more immersive game

Don't stop at vanilla in this game. modding is so simple in this game that it is basically non existent. just load the server, it loads the mods.
most Milsims have public servers that can really immerse/teach you. (not alot of mutes / more teamwork)
15th MEU realism unit comes out of winter stand-down Sunday (1/12) so the Public Server is bound to get some people on it soon.
Everything is mod-able from modern day equipment to Tarkov-like servers and RP life type stuff.

Arma. Not shoot and scoot game, heavy. Learning curve a! Give it time,sure coonole players will have hard time adapting?lol?And, Arma has a huge player base forever..modding community's kept it alive for decades!

Arma Reforger came out on Xbox same time it came out on PC. Playstation is the only one who just now got the game. Xbox and PC players have been playing it for almost 3 years now. Plus Xbox also has the mods like the PC players as well and Playstation doesn't yet. I'm actually surprised Playstation outsells Xbox, because Xbox has better features where they have early access to a lot of games same as PC, then there's Game Pass which that speaks for itself. Glad Playstation finally gets to join in on the fun though.
If you are on Xbox or PC you can come play on my server and we can get you up to speed. PS5 is a no go tho. We are modded.
